It's one of the longest things I can quote even without having heard it for years and dad will often turn to me so I can quote it when someone's had to say something very similar (as in long rambling explanation), or just any tongue twister, because basically no-one will know what you're on about if you haven't seen the Smegups XD
I love how when Kryten realizes there’s no way he’s gonna finish his line correctly, he just turns around and everyone goes back to the start at 2:22
How on Earth did these lot make 12 series? They spent half of it bursting into laughing every few seconds.

Its probably pretty common among actors. All it takes is a slip of the tongue or forgetting a word or line for a split second and a take is ruined :P
I like how Chris, Craig, Danny and Robert look at the camera at 2:52. It's looks something like out of a title sequence of a TV show.

I love how Rimmer goes "I then order you to don my old space suite. The one with theeeeeee.... Oh Matron, yes I screwed the line." At 2:02. I laughed so hard when I heard that.

Supposedly words like 'Marvelous' are falling out of fashion in favour of borrowed American words like 'Awesome', well I'm not going to let the smeeeeeeg-heiid Arnie Rimmer be forgotten so easily. Maaaaarvelous!
If it's any consolation, there are those of us here in Canada who have stopped using words like 'Awesome', instead favoring words like 'Maaaaarvelous". Tone and pitch definitely influenced by Arnie Rimmer (speaking for myself of course). Cheers!

Not sure if it is a "smeg up" but in Terrorform Rimmer's character is missing the "H" on his forehead for the entire episode, an oversight - or some other reason?
No, that one's intentional! On the Psi-moon, Rimmer is no longer a hologram, but is able to be touched and killed like a living being - that's why he's in so much danger.
They take off the H whenever he's "living" (:
