That E. Smith run after the catch shows you how great he was. He was in the open field and the guy never even touched him. Tremendous footwork and so thrilling to watch. I have to give credit to Graham here, he kept his head in the game. Dave Brown was at best a third stringer.

The thing I miss about Madden and Summerall is that they talked about the game. The commentators today talk about everything but the game - player contracts, future stadium plans, player girlfriends and families, what they did in college, what they're season goals are, how many games they need to win to get into the playoffs, etc etc, everything but the game.
I know the Giants were more of a running team around that era, but man, talk about underutilizing someone’s talents. McCaffrey later went on to have an exemplary career with the Broncos. They really whiffed on getting the most out of him.
