- A flash flood formed in a matter of minutes as a woman filmed a rocky stream in Maui, Hawaii.
Footage from February 2019 shows floodwater submerge a rocky pass in just a matter of minutes.
Lisa managed to capture the sight on camera as the water rushed down the Venus Pools.

Aaron was an accident waiting to happen. I live here and have seen the result of these videos.
Parents risking their kids lives like they're trying to collect insurance money on them.
The kid who kept asking to watch from the bridge knew what was up. He reads enough books to know better.
I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi. Every year tourists put our first responders at risk by doing stupid things like this on hiking trails, beaches during high surf and pools during rain storms that cause flash floods.
Not very sharp, are they…Especially, the adults! 🤯
Kids will be kids regardless. Parents sadly were not responsible.
Haha yeah once they started talking I had to mute it just to see the video. 😆
"Wait, can I go see..." = great last words.
Lol
Omg, you bring a kid into this situation? How careless! You certainly were lucky this time! This could have gone wrong in so many ways! Respect the Aina!
I’m absolutely amazed someone with kids would position themselves here.
I can understand if they were on much higher ground maybe. But this is beyond my comprehension.
I’ll just leave it at that. Others have been more matter of fact.
They kinda were at higher ground compared to the pool the water was flowing into
Calculated risk. Don't get your panties in a bunch. They were monitoring the water level
This is no different than taking kids hiking or mountain climbing. Or taking pictures on a cliff. One step away from disaster in either cases.
@@Krawna if anyone is one step away from disaster then being a responsible person I’d have a need to tell them take heed.
This is how so many stupid people die. Anyone who fell into either the waterfall or the water below would not have a chance in hell of surviving, yet they stand there like, "This is way cool"!
Great role models for the children. What a bunch of tools.
Why, because they explained how to be safe to watch the flood? Because they moved back when it was required? Because they provided adequate parental supervision?
@@stevet5379 Why take a chance with your family. They don't know the volume of water coming down the valley.
@@mark-ib7sz Appearances would suggest that they were in a safe spot, and moved away when the surge of water appeared to grow. You can be wrapped in bubble wrap if you want, but you're still going to have to take the slightest chance now and again.
This person is a Darren/Karen. They will not change!
@@imwade3 Change is inevitable.
Not smart. Too close to edge. I have seen a wall of water come over rocks and unseen from where u stand. You don’t know how much rain has fallen upstream. Very dangerous.
Life is dangerous, get over it.

Thanks for the advice and I like being on the high side of a river bank when flashfloods rage especially since I lost a friend.
@@jeskeepinitreal
Exactly. Unpredictable plus no one knows if it has picked up and will throw boulders and debris down too. My friend was actually crushed by uprooted trees and rocks and then sent downstream so fast they never found him. Very preventable.
@@HappyNomad33 that is so sad.. sorry for your loss... 🌸
Video of the same place from a different perspective and different time: ua-cam.com/video/1OYNt1fUYes/v-deo.html
The adults looked safe but I would not have kids anywhere near that area.
Coming from a local who has dealt with flash floods, this was stupid. They could have lost their lives. My neighborhood got severely flooded in 2018. My neighbor had 5 feet of water and they lost everything. Never ever do this.
GOD DAMN IT AARON
And you wonder why you see in the news, "tourists drowned in flood waters." Don't test Mother Nature with your lives. What was so beautiful about rushing brown waters? I'd rather adore the turquoise water/pond. All that was needed was a loose tree to sweep them over the fall, then you'll have a viral video and some casualties. Would it have been worth it?
Thats them
But having children in a situation like that is just irresponsible
Sounds like Canadians in Hawaii. Reminds me of Asians in Yellowstone. Oh that Elk is so cute...Learn respect...and especially with children.
That know it all guy is fixing to get them killed
This is a tutorial on how making a viral video and losing your life.....future Darwin award winners
Better than being election losers
Didn't trump look at the sun during an eclipse?
They have really terrible voices. They sound like bad people.
Calm down now
Projecting?
Aaron isn't going to make it.
Not to old age, at least.
When you have to tell your kids emergency procedures(grab bushes) in case of certain death, and your wife is asking if it's safe, you're not a good dad. Cool dad turns into dangerous dad.
You’re obviously not a dad.
This is a problem in Hawai'i. Tourist will go somewhere that is labeled as a dangerous place, and end up getting hurt or worse, die.
this looks odly satisfying
That's what a Monday at work looks like
I hear the Linda H music playing in my head.
LMAO!
Please post a picture so we can see the match that goes with the Definition of Stupidity.
Years ago I was there when this very thing happened… had to swim in the lower pool to save 2 tourists that thought it was “cool” to hangout at the too middle. They went over :/
Wait, they died?
@@Mirsab no they went over the falls and I went in to save them
So did they die?
That's why they're called FLASH floods.....if it doesnt, it ain't a flash flood at all
Never underestimate the stupidity of humans.
These people are just brilliant!
Was this planed? I’m confused!
Hope it washes away some of these damn tourists!!!!
She ain't seen nothin', this was only a 4 "Oh My Godder!!"
I lived through several 7 OMG'rs.......even a 10 "No Wayer!!"
Dont forget 'thats cool'
You see any local people there? Wanna know why?
And the Shittiest Parents Award goes to...
These the same people that would blame Hawaii as a state if one of their kids got swept away, claiming that there wasn't enough signs to warn tourists
After watching this video I feel cheated. Somehow.
There's goes the clean water
Anyone know what island in Hawaii?
We didnt see the part where they got washed away......
How did they know it was coming ?
0:50 ish their mate Richard came and told them to get out of the water. They call him a saint.
just a bunch of professionals standing on solid ground
Better safe,than sorry.
Too bad they can't send some of that water to California.
Kid in front, Brilliant!!
Lived there for 18yrs.

Scenario 1
Responsible Adult: Its crappy snow and you can see some gravel
Hard Charger: what was that...? (fully geared up with helmet and pads)
Responsible Adult: I dont think -
Hard Charger: Wizzing down the hill/road/trail hearing a slight slushy, "white noise" sound
Scenario 2
Adult 1: But this is just avalanche debris. Look at all the branches and rock
Adult 2: "Its an Opportunity" (part evil grin, part wonder as he pulls over the WWIII goggles
Scenario 3
(downhill with cross-country bike)
Friend 1: Dang ur front tire is squashed on the first run
Friend 2: awww shucks the rock appeared faster than my reaction
Friend 1: (down at bottom) takes an inner tube
Friend 2: what!? we can't do-
Friend 1: shhht. Now your tire is new and no ticket is wasted
Friend 2: (wizzes down blue run) launched head first into tree, pile driving the shoulder
Friend 2 also: (shakes it off and continues) "wooohooing" the rest of the trail
No humans were hurt in the creation of these scenarios
Honest. Scouts pledge-
ok maybe there's a shred of personal truth here.
Good thing for the mute button 🙂

Gravity.
@@AiMR ha ha ha not funny
Little did they know but behind them the land sharks were waiting for them….
Absolutely gorgeous
What bugs see when I turn the pond back on
I wonder if the people that filmed this, have came to this comment section?
and I hope they get an eye-full!!
Did the Chinese do that?
1:27 real flooding would be when the water flows over there.
Screw that there playing with there lives right there
You the man, Aaron!! Close to the edge. Down by the river.. Yes!
Seems they let a water damn open.
Please ask yourself ' Who created the Universe ' ? Why we here in this world if our end is death.

Wai lua
Translation please 🙂
Wai is water in Hawaiian, Lua roughly translates to bathroom. Wailua is a town on the east side of Kauai.
@@jacobmcandles1745 that absolutely is not what wailua means.
Wai is water yes but lua means a hole, a grave.
Wailua is a large burial heiau located on kauai's east side along a large beach front.
@Jn Hook808 . Ever been in Tradewinds bar in the Coconut Marketplace? Seen the sign on the bathroom doors? It says Lua. Know all about the Heiau in Wailua. Lived in Anahola for 23 years . Hawaiians told me it means brown water. And the Heiau in Wailua is not a graveyard, it’s the city of Refuge.
Tourists
我好喜欢这个频道的节目哦😳😳😳😳😳
I say the same about people who took the poke 😅 you could show them people dying from it but they'll still stand right near the edge waiting for the water to take him over the edge or get the Poke
