Love your content man, hope your back feels better soon. I shot you an email a while back about recommendations on getting started in ELR and about your journey/experiences within the realm. I know you've got plenty on your plate, but if you've got the time I'd love to hear from you. I'm more or less thinking to use this series as my starting point.
7 prc recoil is no joke. This is a great series. I like the long video format stuff too. A big break and a lot of extra weight would need to go on that thing if im shooting more than 4 or 5 rounds.
Backfire makes a recoil pad that has gotten really good reviews. I have no experience with it but it might be worth looking into and reaching out to him. I would think considerably cheaper option than a chassis
The beating me up is a tiny part of the problem. It’s taking me off target in my scope, so I can’t see a head or a mess. Therefore, I can’t make a correction.
Hope your back straightens out soon bud. I know that feeling all to well. Gay as it is, yoga helps alot with that. Helped me immensely. Ill take looking stupid in a room alone over the pain any day. 😂
Someone told me to get a chassis for my ruger american in 6.5 creed. Glad to know ignoring them was a decent idea for the caliber for now. I think ill worry about making half decent rounds before changing out much on the thing
Yeah, as long as you can keep that target in the scope. With seven PRC that thing bucks me right off, can’t make follow-up shots, cause I didn’t see the previous impact
I had a 7PRC built, I knew I would end up replacing everything but the action. I went with a 26” Bartlein MTU contour barrel. Barrel blank and having a competent smith chamber it cost around $800. The furthest I’ve shot it is 1261 yards, vertical extreme spread was 2”, horizontal spread was 8” in a 5 shot group. I blame myself for the horizontal, need more practice reading the wind at that distance.
@@user-TJ365 Perfect. Problems with the Hornady brass? I'll be handloading for this, this year.. Going to try to use the factory brass after qa. ES SD?
@@OvertonWindex I never bought factory ammo for it, I went straight to Peterson and hand loaded. A friend of mine started off with Hornady and noticed the case heads were softer and was getting ejector marks. If he wasn’t loading to the upper pressure limit, the Hornady brass was fine.
@@nolansteffek7202 Good news is, with modern manufacturing, it's REALLY hard to screw it up. So they're all good. but that means it's usually REALLY expensive to make something Stellar

Deadliest long range IT guy of all time
Boyds has a decent looking wood chassis I am looking at. The MDT Oryx is just below the $500 mark.
For me. It's either a boyds at one or the mdt field. Both are right around 250 bucks. And both work and shoot great.
“As big, thicc, and match grade as possible”-Overton
I picked up an MDT LSS chassis (Rem700) for under $400. It’s not adjustable on the fly, but it does adjust.
I have the XLR element chassis in aluminum. And for the money I could not be happier
Noted
I have one also and they're great, especially for the price. But I don't think they make one for a Mossberg.
Just checked none for the mossberg, I've got my R700 sps in the element chassis.
I was surprised to see that a few companies actually make pre-fit barrels for these rifles.
Yeah of course!
IMPOSTER! 🤣

Oh shit. The Drones broken? The hawk did go FALCONNN PAWNNNCH and dive bombed the shit outta it huh haha
Hell yeah! Ive been waiting for this video to drop! Hopefully there'll be more "budget ELR" videos! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
of course there will be
We love it, keep em coming!!
I'm no barreltician also known as a Barrelologist.
Depending on availability of new chassis, I usually do some redneck engineering to the plastic stock. It barely works and doesn't last.
I vote for mdt field stock chassis available on brownells for el cheapo chassis. Keep up the great content.
Edit: if its compatible
You ever cross paths with them 406 Precision Dudes? They are great.

Fuck it. If he won't use it. I will. Really is a nice spot. The old boys knew a thing or two about scenery.

Not sure. I think the mini 5 pro and the mavik 4 pro are coming out very soon. Kinda waiting on those

Why did I think you lived in Oregon?
you made me buy a 7 prc, you bastard.
Short term hunters stock hurtles for long term *THWAK* at a mile. Guuuuuuude
Is 6mm ARC dumb? Thinking of buying a Proof barrel to modify a redundant AR15 and try to make it a longer range precision/DMR type rifle.
6 ARC works really well. I would recommend at least a 20" barrel, mine is 22".
nope, Unless you stick with a 16-18 barrel. Go long
Magpul chassis?
Thoughts on Ruger American gen 2?
eeehhhhhh. Fine. They're all just fine.

... nooooo..... Are you literally retarded?
He’s got less money in that whole gun even after the chassis than I have in my scope. I’d say he’s still doing it.
