Prayers for you! I know how fast your life can go sideways. March 5,2017 we lost our youngest daughter in a car accident. She was a beautiful 17 year old senior out on a date with her boyfriend. It was a normal day for our perfect family and then our world came crashing down. I’m so glad you had a good out come with your scare. I love your Chanel and learning to craft and sew has been an outlet for me during my grieving process. I think I has honestly kept me from going insane and may have just help save my life. It started as a way to remember my daughter as we always said we wanted to learn calligraphy. One day while feeling particularly sad I was scrolling through UA-cam and came across a handlettering video and decided to teach myself in honor of my daughter. My crafting spiraled from there to sign making and most recently sewing. UA-camrs like yourself have no idea of the impact your content can make in a strangers life. So for that thank you! Sorry for the long post but this topic really struck me. Best wishes to you.

Sorry Melanie! I had the same thing back in 2011. We're one kidney sisters now! Recovering takes ages! I remember hiding halfway up the stairs because I didn't have enough air to do it all once, and didn't want to worry the kids. MASSIVE hugs to you. Take your time, and take it easy - we will ALL be waiting for you when you are ready. Xx!!😘😘

So glad you are doing well, Melanie!!!! My baby sister had her kidney removed due to cancer when she was a toddler, and close to 40 years later, she is still going strong.

Hi! A few years ago I had kidney cancer. Because of where it was located, they had to take my entire kidney. Prayers to you. Stay healthy, drink water, limit sodium and you should live the life you would have with 2 kidneys.

Hi Melanie I only just found your channel this week and I just caught up with your latest video. What a shocking health scare for you and your family - I hope you are feeling a bit better and that you take the time you need to recover and go slowly. Take care of you first and pick up the work and videos again when you can - everyone will understand that you have had a serious operation. Continuing to send you prayers. I have Lupus and several other auto immune diseases so I totally get that life is full of ups and downs and lots of curve balls. Please don't feel bad about things you feel you should have done. Your health comes first and everything else can wait. I am so glad it’s not cancer. Feel better soon. Yes surgery does take a lot out of you. I just had shoulder surgery. Very difficult. I can’t crochet for awhile. Looking forward to your future videos. Prayers to you as well.

So glad to hear your prognosis. Kidneys are very cool things, but you only need 1/3 of one to function normally. You will do fine with the single. Surgery recovery is a roller coaster and it will take several more weeks to regain your normal activity level. Be kind and patient with yourself.
Hi Melanie! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I’m glad you’re on the mend! I wanted to share something with you that you may find interesting. My 15 month old daughter was actually born with one kidney. There is/never was anything else where her other kidney would have been. She is no different from any other 14 month olds she had no medical issues at all. Wishing you a healthy rest of your recovery and we are excited for new videos!

Melanie you are in my prayers and thoughts. I lost my Dad this past October to a degenerative lung disease, so I know how stressful time in the hospital is and how scary it all is. Take the time you need to heal physically and emotionally/mentally/spiritually. We love the beautiful content you make but we love you most of all. You are in my prayers. I had a renal tumor removed from my left kidney in '09. It takes time to heal, but you will be fine. It does take time, I repeat...t-i-m-e...but God has got this. You are in my prayers hom. Bless you!!♡♡♡♡♡

I know exactly how u feel. I had kidney cancer in both kidneys and now only have 2/3 of one kidney. It takes about 18 months for your body to recover from the surgery. Strange symptoms appear and disappear. Glad u didnt have cancer but please dont be hard on yourself if you dont feel as well as you think you should. I have only recently found your channel, I'm trying to learn some crafts to keep me busy as I no longer am able to work. I guess there was a reason I saw ur channel that has now become clear. If you need some support as you get better please feel free to reach out, there are not too many people in the world that are female, and as young as us that have this problem. X
Hi Tina, the same thing happened to my husband. He lost only a small part of his kidney, but a year later cancer was in the other kidney and they had to remove the whole thing. He's doing fine, but doctors are always checking his labs and CT scans to make sure he stays fine.
@@MaryChrapliwy yes I have the same checks yearly. My cancer was found at the same time though. It's much more common in men over 65 than women. Especially women aged 45 as I was when this happened. I hope ur husband continues to do well

So glad to see you back. Thanks for coming on - make sure they keep an eye on the other kidney. My husband had kidney cancer and within a year also had it in the other kidney. Fortunately the first time, they were able to save the kidney, but they were not able to save the next kidney.

Knowing what you've been through, I'm so sorry things didn't work out. I would of definitely given you a kidney just to have you back. I think about ya everyday and miss you so much. You were my inspiration to quilting and the reason I started. I made my first quilt watching your step by step videos and it turned out great. I still watch you you everyday but you are dearly missed. You may not be physically with us but I know your watching over us. RIP Melanie we love and miss you!!!
