    I have a new Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) that is not charging also. I was about to spend a bunch of time looking in the wrong area (at the BQ chip), but this video was beautifully timed. I checked my input MOSFETs and at least the first FET is shot, the 2nd is suspect (I'll have to wait until tomorrow to pull out the first one to confirm whether its just that). Thank you Sorin.

    Helios 300 uses a 300W charger. That's more than old days regular desktop power supplies hehehe. The newer Helios has a longer battery taking away the 2.5 slot. The older model with 3 slots is nice being able to have the 2.5" for backup and the two nvme's running regular processing.

    Hi Sorin, I got a Question. Why is the voltage above 24 volts on the first mosfet after replacing it? Wasnt it ment to be equal or lower to the power supply voltage?

    • @cfq.tufanuf7601
      @cfq.tufanuf7601 Рік тому

      Yes it should be lower or equal. A little bit higher won't matter though. But this is why you should not just replace a component because it looks the same or does the same job as there are thousands of different specs.

    hi , i love your videos, you already fixed two laptops for me in one night. i have this exact same laptop and issue. i changed both mosfets in my case
    when i check voltage on charger i get 19.5v
    when i check the DC jack with charger it drops to around 0.04v
    then i check the charger again and its still 0.04v
    only if i unplug the charger and replug it and check the charger again it’s back to 19.5v
    is there something shorting out the charger ?
    i have also replaced DC jack
    i have no customer history on this one . any help appreciated
    thanks 😊

    Power supply could have a blown MOSFET in it which is causing MOSFETs and s*** to blow inside the laptop which is actually very very very common to see in the US but probably not in the UK Good chunk of the time it's actually the power supply here that caused most of the problem

    Hi Sorin needs your valuable help. After replacing the Acer Predator Helios 300 Laptop LCD Panel, the Charging Light does not come on at all. There is no power to the laptop. At first the blue light came on and then unfortunately it went off. Many people on the Acer Forums experienced this problem after replacing the screen. Most of those who experienced this problem changed the LCD screen without removing the battery. Could this situation have caused a short circuit on the motherboard?
