If what the defendant was saying was true, then why didn't she bring pictures or the tenant to testify.
“All the other animals in the neighborhood” ?
What kind of neighborhood did you live in, a zoo?😂😂

Come to court with clean hands!
the cat probably found its way into the basement on its own from a vent or something
Or if the basement had a staircase with outside door.
That’s what I am thinking.
Poor baby
“3 seconds ago” is unhinged but I’m here lol😂😂
😂 same here 😊.
😂😂🙌🏻🙌🏻
Damnit I was so close, only 2 hours behind…..
The house smelled like cat urine??? How long was the poor thing down there?? Months?? Good grief, people! If it’s inside you have a responsibility to feed it, provide clean litter and clean up after it - how can you just leave it down there to fend for itself?
Sometimes people move (or die in the hospital) and leave their pets behind, locked inside the house, where they slowly die of starvation and thirst. It's just awful.
I wish family, neighbors, and landlords would check for abandoned pets when tenants disappear for whatever reason. This poor kitty got lucky.
@@JamieM470 I wonder if that happens more often when you own your home. My dog is on my lease when I rent, so the property manager would know to check on him if something happened to us. IDK what the protocol is for a home owner
Couldn't have happened. Because no new renter would rent a place smelling like cat urine, straight up. I believe the new tenant did take on the cat and the new tenant did not take care of the cat hence the urine. But because the owner did not have the property properly cleaned prior to him moving in, that's why I believe judge Judy says she gets her money back.
I’m skeptical the previous tenant left the cat down there without telling anyone if she was kind enough to feed it before.
Poor cat 😢
Agreed. Poor kitty....
The Plaintiff resembles Jill Scott. I can’t unsee it lol
Yea I had the same thought lol
Lol when the defendant says that she wrote the letter because the plaintiff told her to. Only to be informed she committed fraud... priceless. 😂😂😂
I don't believe she left the cat in the house, cats are sneaky it probably found away in and out
Scammers always know how to beat the system
The issue for the landlord with this case is the fact the cat was a stray. Yes, Allegra was letting it in her house and feeding it, but she still let it be an outdoor wild animal and didn't adopt it. If there's no paperwork or actual evidence that Allegra is the soul owner of the cat, then by law Allegra wins.
It is sad af that the Plaintiff just left the cat in the house. How long was it suffering in the basement before the stench reached the upstairs and someone looked into it? No sympathy at all for the Plaintiff. She let the stray into her home and fed it, she should have made sure it was cared for after she left.
Nope. Not her cat.
I don't believe that, the cat found a way in and out
Not really. She won. All that matters.
It always amazes me when people say, "that's not true," to something that clearly is true. Anyone who would feed a cat and then abandon it is a rotten human in my book. I have 8 cats, all of which were feral. As soon as I began taking care of each, they became my responsibility.
Exactly
Nonsense. Utter nonsense
I love my cat but no way am I keeping every stray I come across. I know your house stinks 🤣
@@Nstev84761 exactly if you want a stray so badly go to the local animal shelter. At least then you'll get a vaccinated stray
8 cats is gross
The landlady knows the cat was not her cat. She just wants to keep the deposit money. Don't think that Judge Judy doesn't know what is going on here because she does. Love you Judge Judy.
if judge judy cant help who can another crazy case
Don't feed stray cats or let them in your house! Cat urine is the worst smell to have in a home, and it's almost impossible to get rid of.
Get real, lady. Even if I believe you that you left the cat outside when you moved out (which I don't), you had a cat for all practical purposes. You took on a stray, feeding it (which everyone knows will result in the cat setting down roots) and part-time housing it. Just because you abandoned it to the great outdoors when you were done (again, your claim as opposed to my belief) doesn't retroactively absolve you of the responsibilities of having this animal. You weren't checking it out from the fucking car library.
What she’s not articulating well but said is that it was a neighborhood cat. And likely originated at that house and knows it’s way around. The cat was friendly and she was probably told it’s sweet and harmless which it was. When she left she left the cat to live as it had and the next person is literally doing the same thing by the the defendants own account. The cat knows how to get into the basement. He saying it was eliminating down there the way she is is either a lie or it always ways doing that well before the plaintiff. Do you honestly think the Plaintiff locked the cat there to die. Come on that makes no sense by either of their stories. There are two outside cats in my neighborhood that random people feed. There’s also water bowls for dogs we live by walking trails. Lots of people like animals but don’t want pets
@TheNuyorker She probably left a basement window or dryer vent open so the cat could come and go
-poor lil furbaby ... !-
If you give you give a begger food does it mean you own the begger
The lady she looks very humble calm and lovely and beautiful l couldn't wait to keep looking at her and there was proof she was innocent but a cat helper😂❤ l am in love with this beautiful lady

The cat became dependent on you for food, and you leave the poor baby. The landlord calling the cat an it is horrible as well. You feed an animal then you are the owner and are responsible. Grow up. I only feel for the kitty, and every other animal because of people who disregard animals as objects instead of living beings. Disgusting.
Amen to that. From the basement odor they describe it was probably an intact male that needed neutering to become a good house cat.
God bless the new tenant who took over responsibility for the cat.
An animal is an it. Especially if it’s some stray cat that’s nothing to you. The landlord does not have to be responsible for the cat.

Judge Judy will be on my TV in about 3 minutes and I fully expect to see this episode on it now that I have seen it here 😅
Wow what a surprise 🤣 not really but this episode is actually on my TV right now!
How could you just. Let a pet. Go
With absolutely no attachment
Can tell which direction it may be going when JJ starts with a side.
Sometimes! But she can be tricky!
The older lady behind the plaintiff is absolutely gorgeous 😍
Be kind to innocent animals, especially homeless ones.
Yeah their weary souls. Are. Just. So. Willing to. Make a place in their hearts for us. It is beyond all reckoning to understand why. People ever could be heartless towards the wayward. Creatures. Of our. World. Especially sweet souls of. Dogs and cats of our best humans
Are more wretched. Than the. Very worst of animals. But somehow in. Spite of our unworthiness. They are magnetically drawn to people
She favors Jill Scott.
Agreed
Poor cat
Ohh JJ is an animal lover! Plaintiff left a cat to fend for itself.😮
Part 1 is actually part 1?! Nice to see that the editors are sober today.
If the cat is inside the home and you fed it periodically, it is animal abuse not to feed it daily.
If you fed it outside the home periodically, then it was not inside the home. Illogical statements.
1. How long did the landlord take to find a cat in the basement, she obviously didn't check the property after the first Tennant left.
2. The landlord showed no proof that it had been down there trapped and was littering down there.
That's why judge judy moved on and dismissed that part because if all you needed to do was put food down and it came out of hiding, she could have done that on day 1 or 2 when she supposedly smaller urine.
Sounds like the cat found a way back in to the basement which is backed up by the new Tennant saying they'd keep the cat
I don't know but if she really did leave the cat behind inside the house that's pretty crappy....😠
Hello kitty 🐈⬛
😮who has the poor cat now😢
Allegra? That’s her name? 😂
Straight up. Just like From the commercials.
let it...go back to being a stray.

So landlord can't use these deposit money no matter what or something?
Remember the old children's song? The cat came back...the very next day...the cat came back...and he wouldn't go away. If they like you they do not go away for long. Believe me, I know.
Am I the only one a little confused with this case?
Is that what a cat owner does?
As the owner of 5 cats..... no it's not what we do. We don't claim her.
In her defense it was a stray cat which she fed etc. She never sais she owned the cat. It is also too bad that you are hardly ever allowed to have a pet. Most cats are exremely hygienic and rarely cause damage. I had 20+ cats.

Peaches do sound good, right about now.
Mac & Cheese with an orange soda on the side😋🧀🥤
Evidence. It's a good thing.
if the cat was defecating for days while the tenant was gone, then there must've been a way it was leaving and entering. it wouldn't have days worth water to urinate unless it was going out to drink somewhere
Exactly because the new person moved in 4 days later.
What it is, is she abandoned her cat. She was feeding it and letting it inside? That was her cat. If it was a stray she fed outside only, would be different.
I'm ready 😂👏🏾
I can’t believe I made it so early
When it comes to cats people tend to become up in arms, the plaintiff did nothing wrong when it comes to the cat and I believe her when she says the neighbor was taking care of the cat collectively.
How could she just abandon that poor cat??? What a disgusting woman!!!
It was a stray
@@missindependent4711It was a stray she started feeding, so it got dependent on her for food.
@lemonhead162 cats hunt and will live just fine without humans, unlike dogs.
l am here so early and l am very excited
What kind of people just move, and LEAVE a poor animal there. Yes, feed it and take care of it...and then just F-ing abandon it. Disgusting plaintiffs.
I think both litigants are terrible people.
What case?
@@BoobooPie_91
You're a headcase
Her 5 o'clock shadow is crazy
Im having a hard time having any sympathy for the plaintiff that took on taking care of the cat and just left it behind.
If she had allowed it to remain a stray while feeding it, as in, it lived outside, wandered around etc, that would be a different story. But the fact she took it in, fed it, had it living with her, only to leave it behind .....
Yeah that's not how it goes.
I only feel bad for the kitty.
Really🙎🏽♀️Now She Know Damn well Her Stray🐈Cat Tour up the🏠 She just said she would feed that cat when she would see it outside Now trying to deny her cat did that
Another section 8 deadbeat and unscrupulous landlord?!
In black vs white, Judy 99% of the times rules in favor of the black.
As soon as you see the plaintiff, you know "housing subsidies".
