Lmaooo Im from Trinidad and that's exactly my thought. But ive thought of... just washing my body with water in the morning and in the evening after i workout i bathe with soap and everything.
These are really good tips, buy I do feel like it will depend on each person and their lifestyle. For me I cannot shower at night because of work, I get home 1130/1200 at night which is way too late. I prefer to wash my hair morning/early afternoon on my day off after a workout. I have trained my hair to the point I only have to wash it every 7 to 10 days before it gets oily.
this is very true! everyone has a different lifestyle, and sometimes showering at a certain in the morning is just overall better than showering at night. also, that's awesome that you only have to wash your hair every 7 to 10 days! i'd love to get my hair to that point
@@lauramikic3636 Not a dermatologist but I am a hair stylist. You can't really "train" your oil glands to a new schedule, you have to work around your oil glands. I'm able to wear my hair for 6/7 days if I push it. It's a matter of finding the right products that target your hairs need without weighing it down. If you go for intensive moisture on wash day and you don't have a coarser hair texture, it's going to weigh your hair down. By day 3 or 4 it will most likely feel too oily to work with. Learning how to style your hair throughout that many days is just as important as finding the right products. I wait until I'm closer to a wash day to break out my dry shampoo to avoid too much build up of product. The closer you get to wash day/the oilier your hair is, the easier it is for it to hold texture. Nearing wash day I gravitate towards dutch braids, top knots, ponytails, or any type of curling/waving. Hope this helps!
I shower before bed without fail. My friends think I'm nuts because even if we get back from a night out and I'm drunk, I always take my makeup off, shower and brush my teeth before bed 😂

I dont watch many beauty experts but she really sounds she knows what she is talking about. I like the way she uses medical evidence research to back her statements which merits her opinions.
Oh girl. I agree with you on overly fragranced body washes or gels. Because as someone with eczema I am okay with fragranced soaps or body washes I do use washes for my eczema too. I prefer using body washes which are lightly scented and not overpowering, and making sure they’re good for my eczema. I use Kirkland bar soap and it’s amazing for people with sensitive skin, and eczema. They have the original scent which is my favorite, the fragrance free, and aloe vera.
I grew up with my Grandmother. And everyone at the house had to take a shower two time a day. One in the morning and one at night. As an adult I continue that same shower routine and I love it . Everyone is different and have the right choose what is the best shower routine for them .
No one said to stop showering twice a day. However she’s just explaining (based off of facts) that showering twice a day isn’t that good for your skin.
Man i feel so disgusting in my body. It's hard for me to accept that my body needs self care, i kind of just refuse it because there are many factors i don't like about myself. It's OK. You don't have to start at perfect. If you have zero days now, then 1 day a week will be an improvement. Nobody expects perfection from you. A therapist can help you with the feelings about your body as well. Just try for small improvements and if you can't do the whole routine, that's OK, because you tried and still made an improvement. Wherever you are at now is OK as long as you try to go forward.
@@Lizzard2060 ah thank you so much ! I actually just got out of shower and changed my bed sheets. I want to improve my mental health, thank you for your support :]
This! The only think I do differently is I use a washcloth in circular motions a couple times a week as my exfoliant. Once a week maybe I will use a physical scrub. Otherwise I just use my hands with soap to clean. Feet are always last too!
DONT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY!! Taking showers everyday is important! But only your body. I would suggest washing your hair every other day if you shower everyday. But if you shower every 2 days or more just do the whole routine
After a couple nasty comments from people last year and depression. I’ve really upped my hygiene game since then. It has made me feel really confident about myself.
I actually think that you should shower as many times as your ambient temperature demands, cuz I have to shower 2 times a day since I live in the tropics, and it’s really hot in here haha.
I loveee dove bar soap, also don't know if this works for everyone, probably not, but dove bar soap cleared my face so muchhh I started using it after buying expensive skin care that didnt work for me and ruined my skin completely I would cry about my skin everyday, i didnt know why the products i was using weren't working... but they werent for me thats it. Dove bar soap has helped so much
You need to use a washcloth to remove the dead skin that feeds the B.O. causing bacteria. Btw washcloths ARE much more sanitary than a loofa and don't "spread bacteria," at least not when you use them correctly. You can get a pack of 7-10, use a fresh one each time you shower and then wash them all on laundry day.
I don’t know how I ended up here, but all I can say is that you gotta find what works for you, I have the same routine as her and she’s giving really good advice, specially with the order of every step.
Thank you. I tried following this to the best of my ability with the resources I have, and the shower ended up feeling more fun and refreshing than normal. It was even shorter than my usual ones, too! I definitely plan on using this again and would recommend it to anyone
i personally use exfoliating gloves because it really gets all that dirt and exfoliates, things that hands and loofahs can’t do. it helps my skin stay smooth. ✨
I wasn't ever really taught personal hygiene other then "you use shampoo in your hair, and body wash for your body." Kind of just winged it but I'm glad to find out I have been doing it *mostly* right.
Irish Spring and body wash from Bath and Body Works are exactly the same thing in that they’re just fragrance and strong, unnecessary surfactants. You can for sure use something to assist your body washing technique aside from soap. There are antibacterial gloves from supracor or exfoliating gloves that can be found in Target and many other stores. Throw them in the wash after your shower like you normally would a rag and you’re set to go.
The only soap that doesn't break out my skin so far is aveeno and dr sasquatch bar soaps. Though I usually use dr sasquatch if I need a little more pampering. Also the best shaving cream I have ever used is the dollar shave club shaving butter. A tiny bit goes a long way so it lasts forever.
found out about you on Instagram, and since been following all your hair care videos, watched this video yesterday and straight up took a good shower, you're like a big sister ❤️
Thank you so much, this video helped me a lot. As a kid I wouldn't shower often and I've been depressed for as long as I can remember. I neglected hygiene so this is going to help me slowly get back into the habit of having good hygiene :)
With fragrance I like to spray it in the air and then quickly walk through the mist. If I want the fragrance to last, I'll wear a scented lotion too. Some scents smell better when they're layered.
Your videos are a beautiful piece of work! I love the thought you put into your words & the layout of the video. Super simple and to the point. Love it
Hey, it was a very helpful video! I was just wondering what type of physical exfoliant you recommend? Because I use a Loofah sponge which harbours a lot of bacteria.
I take a pretty long shower on Monday’s, and I take a quick shower on Wednesdays, and on Friday’s I wash my hair. So basically I wash my hair 2 times a week, but wash my body every other day.
I haven’t shower in 4 days due to being sick(not COVID, I was tested!). I have huge knots in my thin hair and am scared to shower. I’m watching videos like this to motivate me. If you need to shower or have been in a depressive episode, do one thing at a time. Everything makes a difference. You are valued and worth it love
If you take a shower at night. Make sure you cover your wet hair. Getting your pillow wet, can make it damp, and your pillow can grow bacteria, and can smell bad. And if that pillow touches your face. That your hair was laying on. Can cause acne, good to switch out your pillow case. One the 3rd or 4th day of it of the week.
all steps in order: lukewarm water use your hands (loofahs, rags etc. harbor bacteria) start with your hair (every 2-3 days): shampoo: roots and scalps (oil buildups take place here) conditioner: mid length to ends (leave in for 2-3 mins) put hair up afterwards to prevent any other soaps from getting on your hair wash your neck, face and body: scented soaps like bath and body works, etc. are unnecessary irish spring soap for deep clean (can dry up your skin) dove unscented soap for an everyday clean ‼DONT FORGET ‼ ears neck elbows belly button between your fingers knees under your nails exfoliating (optional): benefits: prevents clogged pores and dead skin only do once a week the 2 kinds of exfoliants: 💦physical exfoliants: (grainy sea salt scrubs like the brand treehut etc.) ✅works the one time you use it unlike chemical exfoliants ❌can be abrasive towards sensitive skin 💦chemical exfoliants: (salicylic acid etc.) ✅great for sensitive skin ❌takes a while to see effects shaving: conditioner can be used as a barrier for your skin and the razor end with your feet: use bar soap you can use a nail salon foot scrub topped off with a bit of an exfoliant to get off dead skin
obviously everything works different for everyone but i cant get away with washing my body with MY HANDS i use exfoliating gloves with my unscented dove soap then a washcloth with my coffee body wash just what works for me
I have always showered at night. I don’t want to go to bed dirty. I wash my hair daily because it is fine, thin and oily. I don’t wash my whole body daily but I wash the important parts. I use fragrance free Dove baby soap or occasionally Panoxyl because it is exfoliating and antibacterial. I only shave my legs in the bath with colloidal oatmeal. If I don’t I get razor burn.
This is true. I recently discovered my back acne were happening due to conditioner. I washed my hair by bringing them to the front since then and the back acne are gone.
As a curly girl it’s tough because we need a lot of conditioners and deep conditioning 😂🥲 so it’s like you do your hair , but then you need to keep the conditioner in while doing the rest of your shower routine. I always feel like the conditioner is dripping down my face and neck 😪 I’m not sure if there’s a tip for that? I’d you have any ideas , please share 😂❤️ I love love love your content !
I finish my deep conditioning out of the shower! I put my hair in a shower cap and let that sit for about 30+ minutes, leaving a towel around my neck. Then I rinse it out upside down in the tub

thank you for the loofah comment because my friends make me feel dirty every time we talk about how we shower lmao. I just wash my body with my hands and they tell me i’m not getting clean
The whole time I thought I was showering right till I watched this video 😅, maybe I should take one shower a day instead of two a day. The tip about washing your back well after conditioner is SO true , I've been doing that for a while and it makes such a difference in how clear my back is!
Ok so I think this explains all of the acne on my forehead, chest, and back... I'll try to do this stuff in this order to see if it'll get better. THANK YOU SO MUCK FOR THIS VIDEO☁️
My father swears by Wright’s Coal Tar bar soap, it’s an antibacterial soap that’s still gentle (comparative to other antibacterial soaps) for face + body, and as we always had a couple extra bars in the cupboard, my siblings + me always ended up using eventually. Its my default soap for travel, overnights or 2-3 week trips, I’ve even used it to get deodorant stains and smells out of sportswear! It’s the Ol’ Reliable of bar soap, if you don’t want to spring for Dr Bronner’s Castile
There has been a lot of research and studies that have shown it is a lot healthier to take a cold shower. All though Luke warm showers are definitely nice compared to cold showers.
For me, I would just shower everyday in the evening and wash my hair every 4 days (male). The only reason why I shower everyday is because I'm usually pretty active everyday or I just like to be active, but if its a day I chill at home and I don't really go out of the house that much then I would skip showering for a day.
Except if u live in a tropical country, taking two a day is fine the first one in the morning is just to refresh yourself anyway and unless it's "winter" don't use warm water .
I am so extremely thankful for this. Bless my mom but by the time i was taking showers she didnt tell me what order to do it in or what to even do other than to just clean myself. I am do greatful for this tutorial because I needed this
I'm not going outside without taking a shower in the morning I wasn't raised to do that and I would feel uncomfortable and I prefer to take a shower morning and night and moisturize my skin very well especially with covid 19 and being on public transportation
I know this video is 2 years old, but it helped out a lot. My mom doesnt really help me with anything (i had to learn how to tie my shoes and hair by myself) and I used to not know how to wash myself properly. I'm 12 years old, and this is the first time my hair isn't very oily after I washed it + I feel clean.
Well spoken Castile soaps are the best thing to use and if like any kind of sponge is to create bacteria it’s easy to wash them properly before reusing them
How i take a shower: I get it, Turn the shower to max heat (not gonna do it anymore) Put shampoo in Rinse Put conditonr in Wash body Rinse bodywash Rinse condinor Facewash Rinse Get out
Glad I found this. I grew up with just my mom and she's gone when I turned in the age where adolescence starts and I don't know what to do, thanks for this!
The way I've already been doing everything in the correct order for years because the reasons you gave in this video to do hair, armpits, face, then body was just common sense to me😅

Everything you said I agreed to the T. Although the Cold shower is backed up by not only science (to those looking for validation) but by people who’ve done it throughout areas of the world like Slovakia, Russia even here in the US it’s actually more imperative to shower in cold least for 30 min-1hour... if explain and break everything down here but I don’t want to take away the information you’ve set out in your channel. So I respectfully say to everyone; that you could look this up. It’s everywhere. I do it every morning and it energizes me like you have no idea. Although I do love a cozy warm shower too. Sometimes after the cold feels even better. 🙏🏼💙

But ive thought of... just washing my body with water in the morning and in the evening after i workout i bathe with soap and everything.
True true 😄
🇹🇹🇹🇹
right
Yee cuz it hot e bui xD
I just finished showering and used this whole routine and it helped me so much I feel so much cleaner. I will use these tips more often!
girl you have literally saved my life in all the categories of beauty 🥰
ahhh i'm so happy to hear this!!
SAMEEE!!
@@AudreyVictoria It’s so true! i’m so thankful for you ❤️
These are really good tips, buy I do feel like it will depend on each person and their lifestyle. For me I cannot shower at night because of work, I get home 1130/1200 at night which is way too late. I prefer to wash my hair morning/early afternoon on my day off after a workout. I have trained my hair to the point I only have to wash it every 7 to 10 days before it gets oily.
this is very true! everyone has a different lifestyle, and sometimes showering at a certain in the morning is just overall better than showering at night. also, that's awesome that you only have to wash your hair every 7 to 10 days! i'd love to get my hair to that point
how did you train your hair i swear it doesn’t work for me
@@cassiebenson6402 according to dermatologists its not a thing since oil glands don't have receptors
Omg may you give us some tips how you trained your hair to be up to 7 to 10 days without washing? Itd help me a lot
I’m the same way!
Same ! Haha!
i love videos like these, especially i grew up in an abusive household where i wasn’t taught this. im 13, im still growing. but, it makes me happy that it isn’t treated like everyone knows it, because some people dont. i sadly didn’t and i’ve been getting better at it the past year :))
kudos to all the lovely creators helping others 🫶🏼🫶🏼
So what kind of body wash are u using I have eczema too but I can't find any body wash that work for me in my country
I grew up with my Grandmother. And everyone at the house had to take a shower two time a day. One in the morning and one at night. As an adult I continue that same shower routine and I love it . Everyone is different and have the right choose what is the best shower routine for them .
No one said to stop showering twice a day. However she’s just explaining (based off of facts) that showering twice a day isn’t that good for your skin.
waste of water with that kind of a routine huh
@@feyzaoz8536 😐
Thank you so much, even as a person told by my mother how to keep up hygiene it’s so nice to have someone directly explain these things
of course!!
Man i feel so disgusting in my body. It's hard for me to accept that my body needs self care, i kind of just refuse it because there are many factors i don't like about myself. "Oh im already - so i wont do - there's no point"
I'm in an uncomfortable stage. Thank you for the video tho. I will try my best to take care of my body...
I wish you the best of luck
ur strong. u can do it:-)
3:40 no to these items
10:00 wash these areas
10:28 wash your feet last
14:16 nails
I was just getting ready to take a shower! Talk about perfect timing!
Also, including an article?! LOVE YOUR CONTENT! 🥰💜
thank you!! most of my info comes from experience, but when i present it to you guys i always do some research first just to make sure i'm correct lol
I actually think that you should shower as many times as your ambient temperature demands, cuz I have to shower 2 times a day since I live in the tropics, and it’s really hot in here haha.
LOVE the new editing! Also you look so pretty 😍❤
thank you!! i have a video editor now, he's awesome! i'm glad you're enjoying it 💜
Pro tip: The original Irish Spring helps deter bugs in the summer. I started washing with it and got significantly less mosquito bites.
Hmmm, I used it as a kid. But haven’t showered with it in recent years. I will be sure to try it🤔 thanks
Thank you for sharing I'm allergic to mosquito bites really bad
I loveee dove bar soap, also don't know if this works for everyone, probably not, but dove bar soap cleared my face so muchhh
I started using it after buying expensive skin care that didnt work for me and ruined my skin completely
I would cry about my skin everyday, i didnt know why the products i was using weren't working... but they werent for me thats it. Dove bar soap has helped so much
Of course if anyone wants to try dove for their face, its better to have one exclusively for the face and another for your body, just to be safe
I just tried this routine and i feel so insanely clean rn, i love it thank you!
We are supposed to exfoliate after body wash?
My showering style has completely changes and have noticed a huge difference thanks ❤
I had irish spring soap for a very long time. I started noticing my skin way getting very dry im glad you pointed it out.
Thank you so much, this video helped me a lot. As a kid I wouldn't shower often and I've been depressed for as long as I can remember. I neglected hygiene so this is going to help me slowly get back into the habit of having good hygiene :)
audreys videos are really a BIG help!
so happy to hear this!! you guys are the best
A scrub with sugar or jojoba beads or one of those korean exfoliating cloths like once a week on legs and arms
Any physical exfoliant should preferably be one that 'melts' like sugar or salt and don't scrub to hard :)
Exfoliating gloves, or cloth can also be very good!
You got this! ❤️
@@AudreyVictoria thank you
If you take a shower at night. Make sure you cover your wet hair. Getting your pillow wet, can make it damp, and your pillow can grow bacteria, and can smell bad. And if that pillow touches your face. That your hair was laying on. Can cause acne, good to switch out your pillow case. One the 3rd or 4th day of it of the week.
all steps in order:
lukewarm water
use your hands (loofahs, rags etc. harbor bacteria)
start with your hair (every 2-3 days):
shampoo: roots and scalps (oil buildups take place here)
conditioner: mid length to ends (leave in for 2-3 mins)
put hair up afterwards to prevent any other soaps from getting on your hair
wash your neck, face and body:
scented soaps like bath and body works, etc. are unnecessary
irish spring soap for deep clean (can dry up your skin)
dove unscented soap for an everyday clean
‼DONT FORGET ‼
ears
neck
elbows
belly button
between your fingers
knees
under your nails
exfoliating (optional):
benefits: prevents clogged pores and dead skin
only do once a week
the 2 kinds of exfoliants:
💦physical exfoliants: (grainy sea salt scrubs like the brand treehut etc.)
✅works the one time you use it unlike chemical exfoliants
❌can be abrasive towards sensitive skin
💦chemical exfoliants: (salicylic acid etc.)
✅great for sensitive skin
❌takes a while to see effects
shaving:
conditioner can be used as a barrier for your skin and the razor
end with your feet:
use bar soap
you can use a nail salon foot scrub topped off with a bit of an exfoliant to get off dead skin
obviously everything works different for everyone but i cant get away with washing my body with MY HANDS i use exfoliating gloves with my unscented dove soap then a washcloth with my coffee body wash just what works for me
I have always showered at night.
Your voice is gentle and comfortable😊
As a curly girl it’s tough because we need a lot of conditioners and deep conditioning 😂🥲 so it’s like you do your hair , but then you need to keep the conditioner in while doing the rest of your shower routine. I always feel like the conditioner is dripping down my face and neck 😪 I’m not sure if there’s a tip for that? I’d you have any ideas , please share 😂❤️ I love love love your content !
I finish my deep conditioning out of the shower! I put my hair in a shower cap and let that sit for about 30+ minutes, leaving a towel around my neck. Then I rinse it out upside down in the tub
as a girl whose mom isn't present to teach me these things, this video was really helpful for me, thank you ❤️
As brazilian, hear you saying to take a shower "once every two days" and "once a day" is very strange, here we take 3 showers every day
I love how polite she is . Keep up the good work 👍🏽 👏
you make the best beauty + hygiene videos, I always enjoy watching them. and as always your so pretty
We love an educated queen as you Audrey. 💙
Great video! I actually already do all of these things in the shower. I thought everyone already knew these things lol! But surprisingly they don't. By the way I also like to take a shower/bath everyday at night. 🙂
thank you for the loofah comment because my friends make me feel dirty every time we talk about how we shower lmao.
It depends really on what country you are residing, what you do on daily basis (lifestyle, nature of work).
That isn't true at all prove me wrong
For me, I would just shower everyday in the evening and wash my hair every 4 days (male). The only reason why I shower everyday is because I'm usually pretty active everyday or I just like to be active, but if its a day I chill at home and I don't really go out of the house that much then I would skip showering for a day.
Except if u live in a tropical country, taking two a day is fine the first one in the morning is just to refresh yourself anyway and unless it's "winter" don't use warm water .
And plus i use bar soap for my eczema because it was prescribed to me! I use the dove unscented and it works for my eczema so im happy!😊
You just make me happy I don’t know how but I relaxing when see you and hear your voice 🥺
I am so extremely thankful for this. Bless my mom but by the time i was taking showers she didnt tell me what order to do it in or what to even do other than to just clean myself. I am do greatful for this tutorial because I needed this
Take shower in the morning only with water then put deodorant and lotion. And at the evening but this time with shower gel.
Girl you’re about to change my life with your channel
I'm not going outside without taking a shower in the morning I wasn't raised to do that and I would feel uncomfortable and I prefer to take a shower morning and night and moisturize my skin very well especially with covid 19 and being on public transportation
I know this video is 2 years old, but it helped out a lot. My mom doesnt really help me with anything (i had to learn how to tie my shoes and hair by myself) and I used to not know how to wash myself properly. I'm 12 years old, and this is the first time my hair isn't very oily after I washed it + I feel clean.
Respectfully, I live in the Caribbean and if I don't shower twice a day I'll be rank as hell
Lol do what you gotta do
i have been depressed for like 5 months and have barely showered and these videos help me a lot
Wow i feel genius that my shower routine is exactly the same except the shaving part
TYSMMM I have chest acne and I was always wondering why I have it and now I know its bc of makeup residue, you are my life saverrrrrr
This is like really random but she looks like her and her house smells like vanilla 😭😭
Lol second that
Yes
Well spoken Castile soaps are the best thing to use and if like any kind of sponge is to create bacteria it’s easy to wash them properly before reusing them
How i take a shower:
I get it, Turn the shower to max heat (not gonna do it anymore)
Put shampoo in
Rinse
Put conditonr in
Wash body
Rinse bodywash
Rinse condinor
Facewash
Rinse
Get out
Glad I found this. I grew up with just my mom and she's gone when I turned in the age where adolescence starts and I don't know what to do, thanks for this!
Thank you! I mean some people don’t even brush their tongues so this is great 😂 I shower the same way and it’s really the best.
The way I've already been doing everything in the correct order for years because the reasons you gave in this video to do hair, armpits, face, then body was just common sense to me😅
no way, i already spend wayyy to much time on showering. My parrents find it hystarical how hygenic i am, but i didnt even know most of these…
hi audrey thanks for making this video and providing subtitles in different languages… its very helpful and very usefull.. omg thank you so much i am very happy
yes omg i cant understand how people dont wash there body after they condition. Like my body gets slippery and so uncomfortable!
This is actually such a good video! Will be trying to add this to my routine!
Loved the vibe of this video ❤
barsoap makes my body feel sticky so i personally prefer body wash! but whatever works best for you :)
I have a really bad zit on my face and it popped today my mom disinfected it and helped it and she said to use face wash for it after my shower and I was to scared lol btw I’m in LOVE with your videos
Lots of love from Missouri ❤️
hello fellow Missourian lol
When your OCD already has you doing this exact routine without knowing it.. & putting up ur hair in the shower bc you don’t like the feeling of loose hair getting stuck to your body 😂
lollllll literally. i used to shower every other day and it worked great, but now i shower everyday bc my ocd has gotten much worse over the past year. i must shower daily or i feel nasty even though i'm not. it's a pain but at least i kinda got something going
your hair looks really pretty in that side ponytail
You should do a video on Indian healing clay detox armpit video. I do it once a week and I have seen a difference
Ok but just remember there's no such thing as a detox
Typing this before i finish the video:
Im watching this because i know im not taking a shower right and its effecting my everyday life. Thank you for making this video. Im too embarrassed to ask my parents how to do this so yeah 👀. Thanks❤
