@Ilduce7 right because if its so watered down how come we arent seeing 40 ppg players all over the league? Luka's 30 is more impactful than lebron's 30 at this current stage of their respective careers. In 15 years someone will have a greater impact than luka and so on.

It's harder to play defense now too. Hand-checking aside thereve been an ass load of rule-changes to help points get put on the board. Get rid of the gather step & defensive 3sec (which doesn't really get called like that rn). Also call out ALL these damn moving screens!
Another sign of the league being more focused on scoring is them changing the shot clock being reset to 14 secs off of an offensive rebound vs 24 secs like it used to be. The league is definitely more high paced and scoring focused.
The problem is KD and Steph don't score when the team needs them to score. When they were younger they made game changing scoring efforts when their team was down. Nowadays their scoring just flows with the game whether the team is up or down. Lebron is tops in the league in 4th quarter scoring, but by the time He tries to bring His team back, they're already down big.
Steph is the most clutch players in the league this year 🤣the league is just too balanced now, and GSW is full of old or inexperienced colleagues and bad coaching . @@adh2298 That's not a knock against LeBron James; it's just a reflection of how easy it is to score in the NBA. In 2021-22, James averaged 30.3 points per game, the second-highest of his career. In 2022-23, James' 28.9 ppg was the fifth highest of his career. Kevin Durant's current average of 29.9 ppg is higher than all of his other averages except for 2009-10 (scoring title) and 2013-14 (MVP season, scoring title). There are 44 players in today's NBA averaging at least 20 points per game, and that's not including players who have not played enough games to qualify currently among the league leaders (Charlotte's LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges; Dallas' Kyrie Irving; Detroit's Bojan Bogdanović). One out of every eight players in the NBA is averaging 20 points per game, which is a good indicator it's too easy to score in the NBA if you have some offensive ability.
@@adh2298 Yeah and he's not even close to the top 10 lol. If everyone else is putting up numbers than what you're doing isn't special or unique. The fact that these guys put up higher numbers now in less minutes played per game is all you need to know. The current LeBron wouldn't be averaging 25ppg in year 21 if this was the NBA10-20 years ago. All the rule changes to soften up the game and make it easier have helped him maintain his stats, just like KD has been putting up better numbers in recent years than he did in OKC in years 15-17 despite a major injury.
As a 27 year old NBA nut from India who grew up on these guys, idk why this is a problem. They are all playing beyond their years and two of the three just got championships in recent memory. LeBron was in the Western conference finals last year. I'm glad I can still turn on league pass and still watch guys I grew up watching kill the league. Why do they have to win a championship? I mean it's cool as hell seeing these guys still ball out but the next gen are the real championship contenders. I'm not sure why this is considered a bad thing for the older guys. No late 80s and very few early 90s (only shaq comes to mind) superstars were doing this in the early to mid 2000s (to a degree malone, stockton, mj, robinson, but none were on this level), so why are we dogging these guys now?
In Steph's case its not a steph issue but more a Kerr issue cause the whole fanbase has seen the best warriors line up and Kerr has only used it 5 times this season and all 5 warriors got a wins. Than Kerr went back to the rotation warriors were losing with. Its kind of the same reason Wemby has looked bad this season when ots due to Pop not playing the PG who knows how to get Wemby good looks he can score with and look good withcause defensively Wemby has looked great but on offence you rarely see himale the expected impact like we see with Ched
These guys are old and except for KD who still has a good team around him, lets just appreciate the last years of these legends of basketball. More recently, it happened to dirk, and carter, and kobe, and duncan, and nash, and KG, and shaq. Its the end of an era and the young guys are here now and the titles are going thru and between them.
Realistically, you cannot expect players in the mid- to late-30s who still have to be the best player on their team. They're all still good, which is amazing, but they're way out of their prime.

The league is in a dry spot. They need a serious game changer/all-time talent that forces change. Cuz the current state of the league is underwhelming.
The teams individually need identities, remember when the Pistons were the "bad boys" & the Lakers were "showtime" & the great MJ was flying through the air🤔.......individuality!!
At the pace we’re heading, all of the NBA’s headliners are going to be International players. Ja looks promising to be the next face of the NBA if he stays out of trouble.
Giannis, Jokic, Luka, Embiid and Wemby’s potential are underwhelming? There’s plenty of all-time talent in the league in their primes. The media and many fans are clinging to the vestiges of these three’s primacies like it’s still 2017.
Glorified AAU League. Nobody plays defense, too many teams and too many young players. I can’t watch a whole game anymore. A quarter maybe then I’m out…….
I'm old but I still play street ball against the young guys, many of whom play in high school and college, and it's like a 3-point contest most of the time. Someone gets a rebound, there's an outlet pass to one of the many guys not playing defense and lining themselves up on the 3-point line on the other end of the court and often even when a layup is wide open they jack up a 3, maybe get that offensive rebound, and if the defense has caught up it gets passed out for another 3 point attempt. This sums up like 80% of the game.
The answer is soo obvious.. Their impact from scoring is diminished not because of them individually but because games have higher scores now. If the league average is around 130, 30 points is slightly under a 1/4 of points needed to win a game. Back in the day 80-90 points would win you a game and 70-80 before that. 30 points is close to half at that point.. The game has changed into a more team reliant aspect which really makes it seem like stars don’t have a good enough impact. It’s not really them but it’s more of a teams fault now than it’s ever been before..
It's not just the teams scoring more; roughly one out of eight players are averaging more than 20 points per game. Even the bad teams (Detroit, Charlotte) have two or more players putting up 20 points or more per game or at least three or more players dropping 18 points per game (San Antonio).
I like how you say the answer is so obvious then proceed to literally just make stuff up lolol. 1. PPG is nowhere near 130 it's 115 2. We’ve seen era’s like this before last 10 years average is around 108 PPG late 70’s through early 90’s have been in that same 105-110 range 3. The highest PPG seasons we’ve ever had were actually in the 60’s. There are 4 seasons in the 1960’s where the scoring’s been even higher than it is now.
Huge Lebron fan I watch most Laker games and I’ve been saying this about Bron for 3 years now. The Lakers made that huge run last year when Lebron went down. Lebron makes the ball stop and guys just have to spot up and wait to shoot and it’s hard to catch a rhythm like that.
It's much easier to score and these older players and teams around the league are playing almost zero defense. All the teams doing well do play defense.
I don’t think Jordan in Washington was the best example. I get that a lot of people don’t know or remember, but Mike had transformed that Wizards team before he got injured that first season. He had the defense playing great, and they were on their way to the playoffs.
Prior to MJ injured his knee, the Wizard was like 26-21 if not mistaken, and 15-1 when he was together with Rip, and like within the top 5 best defensive team, so they're seriously within the playoff contenders, transformed from one of the worse teams in the league. MJ's personal stats himself up to that point were also on par with the prime Kobes, the Duncans, among the top players while already 38 yrs old after 3 yrs retirement.
Look at roster construction from the 80s to the mid 2000s. It went from positions, having a primary scorer, a rebounder, a defender and an assist man. You might have a "specialist" that excelled at one particular thing, and a sixth man. Everyone else was a goon/enforcer that would come in a clobber folks for 6 fouls, or a guy could give the star a break for 5 minutes. That's over now. Everyone on the team from top down can get you points. The pace of play and the three has negated defense. Wembanyama has 7 blocks and it doesn't even affect the possession count. There's just no way to play defense with 5 guys that can shoot.
I think the league has changed so much the volume scorers aren’t impacting winning like they use to. The uptempo game cause for more of sharing the ball
Corrections: hand-checking don't help you staying infront if your legs don't move. More posessions and astronomically better distance shooting (which also streches the floor) is making scoring volume higher and scoring easier. Also major factor that no team is spending 23s pushing through traffic in low-post (which keeps the scoring low). And ofc nowadays you can't stop the game all the time by 'take fouls', cause you actually get penalized for that.
Does Curry have a AD playing along side him? Stop it, Curry doesn’t have the roster Lebron has around him. And Curry doesn’t hand pick teammates the way Lebron does. Didn’t Curry just win a championship in 2022? lol this media is ridiculous. Broussard don’t wanna hear a KD trade request but he’s good with Lebron pouting and having his minions in the media tell you he makes everybody better, but also in the other breath telling you he needs more help and trading away half his teammates at the trade deadline lol smh.
Almost every team has 7 guys that can score double figures stop saying they don’t impact winning when the guys you say do their giving the same numbers as bron curry and kd but their role players are producing that’s the only difference don’t say they’re not impactful because it’s disrespectful no star in the league is winning alone anymore
Steph Curry won a chip with a bunch of d league level talent in 2022. I would say that's great impact on winning. The league has simply caught up with golden state and now everyone essentially plays the same style of basketball
Stop the cap LeBron went to the finals with high school squads Curry had hall of Famers Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, a Streaking Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggings and Jonathan Kuminga
@ronaldrussoe1749 klay was on IR, Draymond was never an offensive threat, Jordan Poole had just come up from the g league, Andrew Wiggins was considered a bust at the start of the season, GP II made the team after being cut from multiple teams, kevon looney was just a hustle guy
Curry missed the playoffs when healthy in ‘21, and the Warriors are under .500 this season. LeBron (in his prime) and Giannis can carry anyone to 50 wins. Even Jokic got 48 wins out of a roster with Monte Morris, Will Barton, Austin Rivers and Uncle Jeff Green being 4 of the team’s top 6 rotation guys.
The biggest mistake KD made is he gave the warriors the advantage of not having to trade for him. He did a sign and trade to Brooklyn which ultimately helped the warriors get Andrew Wiggins and win another title but Brooklyn loses resources. Then they lose more trading for Harden. Then he re-signs with Brooklyn and gets traded to phoenix depleting that team. What we need to learn from KD is that trading for superstars isn’t always helpful
When he left the warriors he needed to sit down and really think about where to go. I don’t think he really thought that out. He needed to go to the nuggets before Jokic became what he became but he didn’t want the small market.
Well that's cos the game has changed so much that it's not dependent upon just the brilliance of a single individual when every other team is shooting threes. They will score their share but you need many more scorers to make a difference.

No defense, thus it is incredibly easy to score vs 80s, 90s, 00s, etc. Hence the inflated offensive stats in assists and scoring, Jordan avg 30 was extremely hard while he also impacted defense at the highest level, without being ball dominant, if jordan scored 30, his team won. So what if lebron can still score 25-30 today's game, any guy on another team can match the scoring and then play more defense lol
Scoring isn’t that much easier. You still have to put the ball in the hoop. Problem is any 2 bench players are talented enough now on any given night to come in and just rain threes. That’s just bench players. No lead is safe because of the 3 point era
I fxxking love how Rob said these old players just putting up meaningless numbers and have no impact on winning whatsoever. Then when he got to Steph he immediately mumbled and lost words😂😂😂 so he quickly shifted the focus to Klay. Hard to see even Rob can’t find good excuse to discredit steph😂😂😂
Dang chris you said that? You dont think anyone else took the in-season tournament as serious as LeBron? Really? Is this what great nba media comes up with? So does this mean lebron is not taking the real season as serious as all the other teams and players? I quit listening to yoh guys because of great nba analysis like what chris just said to come back to the same great nba analysis really? Chris do you watch LeBron play each night? LeBron is old, still a good player but old and doesnt hustle like he once did and the best explanation is that lebron is a great leader and took the in-season tournament more serious than any other teams? So when lebron turned on playoff LeBron and missed the playoffs did he not take it serious? Kind of disappointed but not surprised because everyone has to keep saying lebron is great. Xome on chris you can do better.
The problem with KD that no one has come to terms with because he has superstar talent. KD is a high level role player, that is why he has failed outside of Golden State.
Most of these media personalities do not understand basketball. if a player shown before thay can and did impact winning basketball that does not just vanish. MAYBE the team around said player is not up to par and a players' impact on winning cannot overcome a team around them not being compatible or not being elite. Lebron KD and Steph obviously impacts winning. Their impact cannot lift ANY roster. this is common sense but bias and stupidity will make people say otherwise.

Steph had a top 2 defense, 3 teammates putting up 30 pieces, an elite rebounder in looney, Steve Kerr, highest payroll in the league, and they faced young and injured teams. Sit your damn trap. Lakers just smacked the warriors last year and suns with only 8 games together and 2 starters injured took more games off Denver than anyone else.
They’re old, their impact ain’t the same anymore you can still put up points but the points don’t matter as much KD if I focus on him he honestly hasn’t had the same impact on winning matches since 2022 despite him still being able to score well as he did pre 2022 Points aren’t everything it reminds me of 2017 times where people were enamoured with Westbrook and harden numbers but frankly speaking a 30 piece from Kawhi had more value than a 40-45 piece from Westbrook/Harden
The problem is the league has made it so anybody can score now, not just the elite's so having 1 superstar, 1 star and any role players doesn't mean championship caliber team anymore like it used to be. Now you have to have a team from top to bottom to win like the way the Kings used to be back in the early 2000s when they were battling the Lakers. Plus you need guys that can hit the 3 at a decent clip. A guy like Peja would be perfect for today's game where you can't touch anybody.
You people lie to make up narratives. In 2022 and 2023 the nets went 15-35 without him. The suns won every regular season game that he played last season. The nets went on a 14 game winning streak before he had an injury. The suns this year have played about 20 games without 1 or 2 of their top 3 players. Even more games with role players like Nurkic, Allen, and Gordon missing. The suns have been more injured than any top team in the west and they are only separated from the 4th seed by like 3 games. His teams just haven't been healthy
🤔💭I have been telling you guys the same thing for a while. Almost three years Chris always gets on ranting and raving about Lebron But it's easy to score in the n b a everybody's numbers are inflated And I will say this one more time the longer lebron plays The more he gets out of the goat conversation A Because logically, I'm going to compare. How many years he played and how many championships he has And then michael jordan I compare how many years jordan played to how many championships😳😳😳😳😳
The chickens have come home to roost. This is a product of positionless basketball, launching too many 3s, playing no defense, players leaving teams the moment they aren't happy and not playing hard till half way through the 4th quarter. These days whoever plays the hardest that given night usually wins.
They have zero impact. they only get stats!! Stats are easy to come across in the nba. but impact is what matters. they no longer have an effect on winning games.
Former ny hooper here. 😂 Is really funny that ppl have this notion that one player is supposed to be impact winning. Ppl need to remember basketball was a game design to a 5v5 competition. The impact of winning comes from the synchronized success of all 5 teammates.
lol i dont think getting the scoring record is meaningless regardless of who has the record its insane its 2024 an only now is it meaningless because the most hated player broke the record
KD been scoring since he came in the league at an elite level I don’t want to hear that for KD and he doesn’t take a bunch of threes. Chris doesn’t make any sense about the scoring thing.
Well, there isn't any defense. Scoring is a lot easier and doesn't have the impact it once did. Hell, I remember when a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter meant you were probably going to win.
Another reason why MJ is the Undisputed GOAT. MJ always impacted winning. Even on the Wizards MJ impacted winning. It wasn't about stats with MJ. MJ is always trying to win.
@vintagemonte Before MJ got hurt in Washington they were a playoff team. And as soon as MJ joined the team their winning percentage improved. So yeah ok. Comment on what you know lol
Karl Malone won mvp at 35 so players back then also had longevity, but they make it seem as if that’s only happened in today’s era to make the 80s and 90s look better bc it was more physical than today, if you put the time in on your body you’ll have longevity we’ve seen it throughout history which is what separates the greats from everyone else so Give Steph, Lebron, and KD credit for the work that they’ve put in which has allowed them to have this longevity cuz not everyone can’t be this great for this long only the greatest have had this longevity in basketball Kareem, Karl Malone as well.

These guys really hang on to hand-checking as a talking point. The impact of the change of the hand-checking rule is vastly overstated. Go look at the league averages right before and right after the rule change. They’re pretty much the same. Scoring in the 80s and 90s was actually higher than the mid-late 2000s when the rule was changed. There are many more contributing factors that they don’t ever mention.
KD shouldn’t have to waste his time on teams that aren’t committed to winning. His interest in joining the Harlem Globetrotters is the right move. Their record is 17,673-0. He wouldn’t even have to worry about losing to the Washington Generals.

No late 80s and very few early 90s (only shaq comes to mind) superstars were doing this in the early to mid 2000s (to a degree malone, stockton, mj, robinson, but none were on this level), so why are we dogging these guys now?
I dont think you realize that Jordan was 35 when he won his 6th Championship. Curry and KD are both 35 now.
The pistons scored 150 last night lol
I even notice the three chucking playing basketball in the gym 😂

Durant is leaving voicemails for Jokic and Tatum as we speak.
1. PPG is nowhere near 130 it's 115
2. We’ve seen era’s like this before last 10 years average is around 108 PPG late 70’s through early 90’s have been in that same 105-110 range
3. The highest PPG seasons we’ve ever had were actually in the 60’s. There are 4 seasons in the 1960’s where the scoring’s been even higher than it is now.
So why James harden is washed? They are just good
Huge Lebron fan I watch most Laker games and I’ve been saying this about Bron for 3 years now. The Lakers made that huge run last year when Lebron went down. Lebron makes the ball stop and guys just have to spot up and wait to shoot and it’s hard to catch a rhythm like that.
Why are they getting on KD when he hasn’t said anything?
Loved that season. Mike was just playing for his love of the game. No ring chasing. No trading players. no getting coaches fired.
No they were not good stop it
Look at roster construction from the 80s to the mid 2000s.
Broussard is speaking truth 100 miles an hour!😂😂😂 he might get cancelled for being this honest

Does Curry have a AD playing along side him? Stop it, Curry doesn’t have the roster Lebron has around him. And Curry doesn’t hand pick teammates the way Lebron does.

@@itshiho correct 😂
Why would he have to crawl back. They would be lucky to get him. Okc is the 1 can't get over him leaving

Points aren’t everything it reminds me of 2017 times where people were enamoured with Westbrook and harden numbers but frankly speaking a 30 piece from Kawhi had more value than a 40-45 piece from Westbrook/Harden
The fact that they call Durant, LeBron, and Steph old heads is comical.
