Hey... at least you didn’t pin your comment to the top of the comment section to feel important. You knowwwww the fans will “Like” your comment to the top anyway. Smert fella
You know the more I look at this build the more impressed I am. The one thing I really think using the CR 500 tank and frame and partial part of the swing arm does, is it actually puts it into the right scale. As if Honda built the 500 that's what it would be. I like it I think you did a great job
Niiiice. The "old" motors evidently had more oomph than the '89+ ones... My '90 cr500 was just amazing so I'm sure this'll be a rocket with that engine between the frame rails.
Love the way this bike sits. Compared to the high dollar ones that look a bit high centered. This is more in line with typical 80s R. You were definitely right on with the jetting in cold weather. I live in TN so didn't think much of running the hell out of my new rebuilt Honda Odyssey when we got a good snow late one night. I hit the streets with a tank full of VP Red and some sweet smelling oil and melted it down within an hour. Oh well, Wiseco pistons are overated anyway. They can't match that factory alloy.
Nice Franken trike !!!!!!!!!My brain was trying to figure out if that was a 250r trike with 500 fairings. Love your {any normal working man} thought on how you build your projects. I’ve built a lot of ls , Cummins , stroker , big block Mopar cars/ trucks for less than 3 grand .If your broke and you really really want it. It will be your determination that’s going to make it happen and not your wallet . Preach on frenchy. Preach on !!!
Just Awsome!! I loved those honda trikes I rode pumped up pull 125 pull star in a 200x with a 10" extended arm it kept side by side to a raptor until he hit 5th. I have a 1986 big wheel 80 my kids used to ride sitting by the shed might have to clean it up
I love trikes. Got my first exhaust pipe burn on a trike. Still have the scar 25 years later. 😂 but... I’d take an old Banshee over a trike any day for fun riding.
Wow, you have some great toys and I appreciate the fab work you have done, brings back some great memories. Back in the 90s we were mating GS 550 street bike engines & frames together with 250R components and frames to make 4 cylinder trikes, glad the work continues Thanks!
Yeah they're fun man I built a 200m engine with electric start and low range gear selector up to 250 and put it in a little 185s frame, all it took was a frame notch for the starter and some zip ties for a battery tray. It's really got more than that frame was meant for, it's spooky running with 0 suspension at 55 miles an hour
I dig it. You got the good year. I had a 91 500 motor all done up I stuffed into an 87 250r frame all done up for motocross. Couldn’t ride it for 10 minutes without it shaking itself apart.
That swingarm is epic.get a carhart overall bibb artic edition.you will be snug as a bug.also get the snowmobile handlebar mitts. They are so warm you dont even need gloves in the winter when riding. They block 100% of the wind.
1986 Honda 350X ATC was my first real machine, I had a little 50cc mini bike before but the 350X was a game changer. You had to get low and slide to turn and lean over the bars to hill climb.
Canam bikes were pretty popular in my neck of the woods when the conversion craze started in the 70s. One guy that raced locally on the flat tracks had a kz1000 he was a big guy 6'8 500lbs.
Modern society and medicine has artificially kept genetic rejects like that fuckwad alive for far longer than nature ever intended, and the rest of us now get to deal with those consequences.
That thing is awesome. I'd buy that all day for $400 even in condition it was. They r so rare. Easy money maker. Have some fun with it for a couple years then flip it
I love it. I miss the 250r I had for a while. I miss the fourtrax 250r also. The guy talking about a skull on the tank is the start of everyone suffering for the lack of personal responsibility and choice.
Man, I'm enjoying your videos and come up. I'm 32 and grew up learning to ride with a 85 or 86 Atc 250R special anniversary edition with a well plump motor. Extended swingarm and extended axels. I gapped yamahas and kawis all thru the neighborhood. Great hill climbers. Learning to ride with a 3 wheeler over a dirt bike or 4 wheeler is for real men. Haha. Keep up the good content brotha 👌
Yo keep saying 85 250r plastic but the front fender is the only 250r plastics. That is the CR 500 tank and shrouds and 450r rears and seat ! Still a good build and done fairly cheap . I build my own as well would never buy a TPC or even a BVC kit I have my triples built by a hybrid guy on all the FB pages ! I’ve been building fully suspended minis most recently but I’m looking for a KTM 85 cc bike to convert as well as a 300cc KTM to convert ( obviously both 2 strokes ) but cool build I subscribed and liked ! Keep them coming ! That SX in the before picture looked like a 85 ( I have 2 85,SX’s 1 with a 86 200x front end on it ) and a 87 250 SX .
@@wcmwfab935 oh I know I’m deep in the vintage off road machines ! I personally own 9 vintage ATC and custom built ATC’s and a few bikes ! I’m addicted and have been for years but the older I get the more money I make has turned me into a hoarder I don’t sell anything anymore! I also don’t pay theses crazy prices I find them in the woods or find hook ups from others that aren’t riding any more ! I’d love to have a Fat Cat and will find one cheap at some point I had one back in the early 90’s that was mint but I traded it for a 85 250r ...

We’s all a little stupid sumbtimes.
My question is, why didn't you film.... DURING the build lol look like too much fun bud!
Came here on zip ties and bp’s recommendation, glad I did.

Same, Peg is hilarious 😂
2 stroke cold smoke! There just something about them that 4 stroke will never replace! Especially the old 90's triples with triple pipes and cans!
The newer high performance 4-stroke quads are really impressive . Very fast & reliable.
I had a Cr500 back in 85. It tried to kill me many times. Lol. It was a beast of its era.
Had a Tri-Z and loved it.
Not dangerous at all with some common sense.
Love it! If you're gonna pay $20k for a 3 wheeler, you're the same person that needs the skull and cross bones decal on the gas tank.

250 frames tend to crack and would need to be gussetted
Haha that’s mint ... I had an ‘86 CR500 that was ported and polished when I was a young buck ... what a ride 😆 wish I still had it
😂😂the dude on the news was a clown, looks like he cant even ride a huffy
Also said ATV not ATC ...
That thing is sick bro!👍😎 I had a 86 250R ! It was definitely the fastest 250 I have ever rode on 2-3-4 wheels ! You got a gem there bud 👍

That's one sassy unit. You don't /need/ matching paint. It's about -30°C here in Wisconsin too with the wind, stay warm!
Got down to -47 with wind chill today here in minnesota
Aye another Wisconsin boy
Hell yeah freezing my balls off here in northern MN

Very excited to see more videos of this ripper from way back! Picked up an '87 cr500r to build into a trike and that's how I found this video 🤘🏻
I really want to do the same style conversion on an xr650L to make a street legal trike, excellent job, it looks almost factory
I had a 250r years ago, it was brilliant fun, especially with bald tyres and no front brake.
ATC-R Forever
Good to know that because of that Hutterite we now have to peel 30 "Being a dumb tuck may have consequences" stickers off of any atv's we buy now.

Learned to ride on a 350X. Thanks for the video.
Great build and good job finding the parts
Thats badass its a 500 the front plate says it all.
Got my first cr 500 when I was 14
Sick build on a budget. Seems like good quality work. Badass ride man. Been looking for an affordable 86 350x myself

Cool video and super cool build Well done you 👏👍
Minty job sawed off frenchy! You don't need to have matching frame paint.. But you must be a halfway decent fabricator in my book nice job bub.

Damn bro, that's some sassy pants rigs ya got there 👍🇺🇸

whats up with the square on the axle of the quad?
