    Where I live they call it home base for whatever reason , like its some training place or something :), but always good to get random ideas for heating since there has been issues where people haven't been able to get heat/electric for the whole entire winter time here for I guess the home base reason or something.

      If in the future I can spend more time in the workshop I would love to add a wood burning stove. I have one in my house love it!

    What about condensation? Using a gas heater in my space and theres condensation everywhere. Didnt realize how much wayer vapor is created from these. Close to 1 gallon of water for each gallon of fuel burnt

    Might get one of those for the garcade, biggest problem I have out there is condensation during the winter. I have about 4 of those salt dehumidifiers in there and they do the job of keeping the air dry

    • @JohnMcGrathManInShed
      @JohnMcGrathManInShed  4 роки тому

      It kicks out a lot of heat could dry the place out but you need to insulate to stop that condensation

    Lovely video, nice run through, straight to the point, showed how to set it up and how it runs all about the adapter etc. Just ordered bigger one myself for my home gym during the frosty nights, how is it on gas consumption? Cheers

    Hi John. Check that the water vapour given off during combustion does not condense on your cast iron table saw bed and start rust

      Yes, I had to stop using my propane heater, and buy an electrical one for that reason. I have $20000 of mechanics tools as well that all got a light coating of rust in my tool box that I had to clean off, and every saw surface had to be sanded and rewaxed. I have a very well insulated shop.

    Great video I have a similar shed to yourself I notice that you have some sort of foam along the gaps where the sides meet to roof. What is it? To stop draughts?

    You need a carbon monoxide detector. It is an odorless killer!!!! Vent by opening your garage door about 6 inches.

    Great video thanks. Do you think this would be appropriate to use in a wooden shed used as a study (with books and papers in)?

    @John, it is possible to leave the gas “on”, such that you can turn the heater on automatically via a Wi-Fi enabled smart plug?

    • @JohnMcGrathManInShed
      @JohnMcGrathManInShed  Рік тому +1

      No you will fill the workshop with gas, you would need a solenoid to control the gas valves

    Hi John, I hope you are well. I was wondering do you know the power input required for this unit? I assume the 230V 13A input is to run the motor for the fan but do you know the watts it needs? I am trying to decide between this or a diesel heater. Appreciate any help.

    • @dantronics1682
      @dantronics1682 Рік тому

      if you have tools or equipments the diesel heater is better since its exhausting outside. the power they both needs to run them is miniscule, the deciding factor is the price or kero/diesel to propane. if you already have a safefill propane then thats your cheapest option

    Do you know how long you’d get out of a tank of gas? I’m looking to buy one for the shed just to take the chill out of as it’s a makeshift gym with the lockdown. The shed is 800 square feet but like I said don’t need the place to be roasting just wanna take the sting out of the cold weather.
    Great video 👍

      I still have the same bottle of gas, I only use it for a few minutes to do as you say and take the sting out of the air.

    Winter is closing in again and I’m thinking of using one of these in my workshop. How did it work out in terms of running costs? Any particular condensation issues or headache problems? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers 🍻

    • @JohnMcGrathManInShed
      @JohnMcGrathManInShed  4 роки тому +3

      No issue with headaches if you leave it run for awhile things will start to condensate, I only use it for a few minutes at a time it's all is required I'm still on the first bottle of gas.
