The video originally had no sound. I inserted the audio that was played on the radio after the 1948 war. Marlene Dietrich plays her musical saw on a radio show, as she had done during her USO days.

She was the personification of valor,class ,beauty and integrity,as well as considerable talent.

All the people greeting her here look thrilled and enthusiastic, but I've read that her return to Germany was not entirely happy. There were a number of people who were still bitter about her denunciation of Hitler and her becoming an American citizen before WWII.

She descried her return to Berlin as "depressing." She loved the audiences though. There were bomb threats. However she is buried in Berlin next to her mother. One can see she is not comfortable.
