When I first started I swam on the river to avoid most baddies and headed to the jungle to avoid the desert storm. There I found a spot I could run to hide/recuperate. Spent my time collecting gold coins near the pirate bay and thrived for a long time.
I got into the game today first time around 4 in the morning couldnt sleep n somehow ended up downloading it. Spent half n hour picking up sticks n stones. Managed to craft clothes but couldnt find food. Jst kept eating bugs. Forgot to loot in the area with the smoke. After dying to fall damage a couple times getting sliced in half i decided i needed to learn how to make a weapon or even jst the basics. Youre a hero bro

I hate the journey step system. I wish it would go back to normal so we can do whatever we want at the time and get the credit for it without having to go back and for example make a stone axe to get that journey done after we already created three different ones earlier.
The best attributes to start with aren't Strength, or Vitality. The best are Authority, and Grit. Why? Because your follower should be tanking for you. The attribute that determines speed of knock out is Authority. Grit can boost stamina regeneration. Faster stamina regeneration, and having more stamina means longer run times. Vitality can be replenished by wraps. damage can be improved by finding iron, and progressing the blacksmith journey quest line for better weapon recipes.🤔 Harvest ALL plant fibre you see between the starting point and newbie river. you will need over thirty twine before you will craft your first foundation. Only pickup the stone you need to craft weapons, tools, and a campfire with. Again, before I ever craft a foundation, I craft four boxes: basic resources, other resources, crafted items/loot, and weapons & armour. Every ten levels I add four more storage boxes/chests. I usually unlock the improved box after I learn the large chest. J5 has forty ironstone nodes guarded by one black hand fighter/archer. I build my base (on pillars, over the water) on the west side by the rest stop ledge before climbing up to the iron stone I then build a a temp wheel at F3 to get the armour at the camp in F4. I then move that temp base to H4 Sinner's Refuge to get even more T3 & T4 thralls. I can STILL bring Thugra, and the Brute to base. >=T1 armourer can craft thick hide = 4x hide + twine at the Tanner's Table. so I only ever wear light or heavy armour.
I think it's a matter of opinion really and the way you want to play comes into it. Heck you could say Expertise is the most important because you want to be able to loot everything and be able to build with it. There will be future guides that cover the attributes more in depth and give people more information about the system and what each one does and how that can effect the way you approach content.
I was super excited to find the A-trib and knowledge reset potions for the flexibility to change things up. Early on making the hard choices for where to apply each point was agonizing.

I'v craft light armour and a lesser wheel of pain. My first thrall is the Armourer from F4, My second thrall is a Follower from I4(Eye-Four). My second follower is Thugra around the hour in mark, Then I begin farming Sinner's Refuge for more thralls, and G5 to I6 (Eye-Six) for ironstone, brimstone, Ichor, Gold, and Silver. True when I first started playing finding iron was impossible, same with brimstone. This is why I tell people to play single player, and learn the map. Head to J5 for ironstone first. Get an Armourer thrall ASAP, and start crafting thick hide. Don't bother with medium armour, craft light, then heavy. This little information is game changing. after they can learn how to play for themselves.
I personally level up expertise to 5 first. Having that extra tool durability is most important in my opinion. I also play with other people so having those points in vit, stam, or str, isn't that important in the beginning for me. However, I've quite a few playthroughs and this video is for new players.
I always go for 20 expertise, efficiency is kinda OP early game (I mean, i don't know a lot, have only a couple hours into this game, but i'm loving it).
Step 1, if you own the game on the PS4, throw the game in the trash. Appreciate your videos Wak. I experience the game through your videos since Funcom and Sony have ignored the community who have spent over $100 on the game and DLC already on the PS4. Rant over. Good video.
I also regret the amount of money that I spent on PS4 DLC, but at least I can look back at my console days and say it gave me a good introduction to the game. I'm now playing on PC, but I'm not in a hurry to spend a load of money on DLC or BattlePass - the base game is good enough.
Lol i started building near anuman's grotto at very beginning and now after more than two years of gaming my base is still there 😅 the southern part of the map is the most comfortable for a Stygian character like mine 🙂

Quick question: I play on xbox... Is it just me or the offline/coop isn't working? Tried to play with a few friends and for some reason none of us were able to log into each other's servers (offline server). Is there a reason to that, or we are just dumb? If anyone does know, please tell me. Thank you in advance!! Btw, at some point we just gave up trying and logged into a PVE server🤷🏻♂️
The first time I played the game 5 years ago I died of thirst at the broken highway.😂 Wak I have a question. Do teleportation stones have a ranged limit. Because I was going to activate one at the volcano and it keeps I'm far away. Do I have to make another that is closer to the volcano or is this a new bug?
@@infernohellknightthe distance between teleporters doesn’t matter. It’s a bug, parts of the volcano and the area around the frost temple is affected by this. Enemies don’t attack and thralls won’t follow, if you tell them to move it will just say "follower can’t reach the location". And if you try to place thralls it will say "needs to be placed on walkable floor". Btw all of the sorcery benches don’t work in these areas, it just says "you’re too far away". Hope this helps you, and i hope it gets fixed in chapter 3. 🤘
@@bonecrusher449 Yes I noticed that before I started building and placing down the teleporter and wheel of pain, but I just ignored it thinking it might be just another different bug. So what about a map room do they still work there?

I was building a small base at the top of a mountain near temple of frost, with a teleporter and a map room. I wasn’t able to activate the teleporter, as i said. When i was running up that mountain my followers got stuck at the bottom, and when i used the map room to sinkhole only my horse came with me for whatever reason. My fighter was still stuck at the bottom of that mountain. 🤷♂️😅 I didn’t delete that building tho, just to check if it gets fixed with chapter 3. Edit: maybe you should do the same and build somewhere else meanwhile.
Map grids G4 and I5 are pretty good for start, D10 is also nice, but it's a bit higher level area... However, you will always have something that you'll need to travel for (obsidian from the volcano, ice and star metal from the cold areas or plants and iron from the jungle/noob river)... My recommendation would be anywhere near water - having a steady water supply helps a lot, plus at some point you'll need to get into fishing...
I agree with gaborbernath's comment. I'd like to add that in part it depends on your game style. If you like building, move around a lot and try all kinds of different areas and let your imagination go with glorious structures. If you don't care if your base is a rectangular box and really only build it for sandstorm protection then look at what's most practical for you. If you are first starting in playing Conan find an island on noob river and build there to start. I like to build between Sep and the Unnamed City as it's practical for thralls and legendaries. I also like to build east of the dam because there's a ton of stone, trees and iron, plus it's a short trip to farm for Black Blood tools. If I don't power level I like to build in the water under the Pagoda of Boundless Lusts. Don't worry too much about being in the perfect spot , build somewhere and you will explore and learn that area well. In your next playthrough, build somewhere else. Eventually you'll learn where you like building and where is a pain for your playstyle.
So far I’m disliking the game. 1) it doesn’t even take place in the Conan world. It’s like they made a game and slapped a Conan facelift on it to exploit the character. 2) it’s boring.

This is the number one thing that urks me whenever I make a new character or pick up the game after so long

To start with you don't HAVE a follower. For a complete beginner getting a thrall is several hours into the game.

Just to clarify - when you share a screenshot on PS4, you will have the option to completely remove the UI. It's called photo mode.

You should not have to. I have not tested it in a while. I'll have a look at it but I think they are meant to travel as far as you want to.
