The Bass just smacked it out of the park on this mic setup. This is probably the tightest they ever sang. Considered, controlled and authentic. Stunning work gents.
@@steveboone1498 Ego? It doesn’t need an ego to identify Martin Wahlgren in this quartet. Didier Linder replaced him but not before this recording. I assure you that this is Ringmasters version 1, not version 2.
This video just popped up on my fyp. Even after 14 years, these so-and-so's are THE gold standard. I first 'met' them with the Notre Dame medley. EVERY video I've seen of them since just proves the fact they are just. that. damn. good.
With the way our country in 2020 is struggling, plus losing my daughter, Mardi, when I pulled this virtual chorus and began listening, I was in tears. Westminster, you are my favorite barbershop chorus. Your arrangements and glorious voices are the best I have ever heard. I was a bass in Sweet Adelines for 20 years; and have the ability (whether good or bad) to hear off key notes/chords. Wish you could come to Penn State (State College, PA) some time to perform. As they say, I would give my eye teeth! Keep up the good work.
Fantastic! One thing I notice is that they are careful about how the shape the vowels. Their mouth shapes match, meaning the sound of the vowels match. Fantastic.
Wait, was that Emmanuel in the end singing the counter tenor part? And Martin being so excited to pump out his low notes just puts a big fat smile on my face. How far you guys have come. :) OH and Jakob, that last key just blew me out of the chair. Sweet!
IMHO I can't give you anything but love is better here than when they won with it! Amazing audio quality in this recording too -- maybe that's it. Only thing missing here are the 'a toomba toomba toomba toomba' XD
That bass is only going to get richer and fuller and maybe deeper as he grows He’s only a baby at the moment He’ll probably surpass the great ones for age for age The head voice for the tenor is so pure not scratchy but sweet Not easy to do especially when going for those higher notes
@@tobiaslackner7694 I don’t really have one. But they got better in every aspect to win the gold. Stage presence and sound were the biggest improvements. They’ve always been good at interpretation. Their sound got much tighter and more focused. They’re one of the top quartets to ever sing barbershop now.
There seems to be no harmony in this group. The bass is too loud and the other parts do not blend at all. Maybe as they mature, they will learn to sing together and listen to one another as they sing. That is what barbershop singing is all about!😢
They were a breath of fresh air when they came along. Different style, young, good looking,so talented, just fresh. They changed barbershop forever.

Their "Notre Dame" medley will always be at the top of my barbershop list but I do love this video.
0:05 So In Love
4:47 I Can't Give You Anything But Love
8:19 You And I
I can listen to BARBERSHOP SINGERS FOREVER, SUCH WONDERFUL TALENTS AND SO DANG ENTERTAINING IN EVERY WAY! TOP NOTCH ALL THE WAY.
Wow! The beginning of the legacy of being one of THE best entertaining quartets of all time!
I can’t believe how that tenor holds the final note while the rest finish the cord in Anything But Love. Dang, that’s talent!
The bass is phenomenal
Martin is the man
At 1.40 did Martin actually laugh?
Hate to burst both of your egos but the bass is actually Didier Linder.

Martin is one of the best. Miss him.

I’m so sorry for your loss... I hope you’ve healed since then. And I hope you’ve still got music to help you out
Wow~ Outstanding!!

God bless those already blessed too
Looking back after all these years they look like little cartoon kid versions of themselves, like Baby Disney characters

So In Love is a brilliant arrangement.

Jakobs Post at 13:02 came in and shocked me, because it's very high and sounds great
Guys! That was AWESOME!
2:33 Holly cow that overtone
Perfection !

They do Cole Porter justice. They really are so good.
This is beautiful!!!!
Please upload more if you can from this year for the ringmasters
So in love with you am I as sung by your local ghosties and goblins!
01:05 huh wonder why they switched the melody part from rasmus to emanuel in 2012
Magic, tight harmony!!!!
So good!
How can they continue their knock-out showmanship?

That was awesome!!
best quartet ever !
Thanks so much for singing my favorite song, So in love. You are really so good to hear and the base is also great.
GOAT
Re: So In Love, does the name Carlo Gesualdo ring a bell?
Bieber sure did inspire a lot of bad haircuts.
Haha I had the same, at this time it was considered pretty cool xD
They still had work to do.
…and they did it. And it paid off, in spades.
Just curious whats your criticism about the performance?

Great bass bot a bit unbalanced on the low end. Excellent overtones though.
Sort of a horror version of a love song. Eh what?
