When will another group be as incredible as this? Rasmus the perfect lead/tenor, Martin the perfect melodic bass, Jakob the true tenor who can take over any song, and one of the best baritones to ever exist with such a dominant range, Emanuel.
History in the making. These lads from Sweden are the first from outside North America to win the Harmony Society Gold Medal. Great on this video, spectacular in person. They made the Portland International one to remember, and I am grateful to have been there.
My most favorite moment of any gold medal quartet at international is that last moment where they explode off of the mic just knowing they got the gold. I freakin love this "hobby"
For certain. The pieces from the Hunchback are beautiful as is, but they completely blow it out of the water. Their timing and perfect harmonies amaze me every time I listen to it.
People say this, and ND is great, but ALL of their songs are musical perfection. For me, you can't get any better than the second song on this video, "I can't give you anything but love". It encompasses everything.
In my opinion, one of the secrets to that performance is having Rasmus take the tenor part, and letting Jakob do the lead. I think it suits their voices better.
I think it might not be tagged appropriately. For example, it should be tagged "barbershop," "ringmasters," "so in love," and "men with great cheekbones."
Can you imagine them rehearsing this song? Bari- "Okay, let's start from verse 43..." Lead- "Where the melody begins?" Tenor- "There is no melody! Besides, that's my tenor-lead line!" Bass- "He must be having a bad hair day."

Think of a bass singer like you'd think of a stand up bass instrument. Usually people who are taller and have tall upper bodies can produce a lower sound, just like the difference between a violin, Viola, cello, and Bass.
@@calebsmalling No - length of vocal cords (and training) influences that. Larger chest cavity might make for a more resonant sound, but not a lower range.
This is his features and his emotion as he sings. He has deep set eyes which always makes a little bit of a sinister look. I think you’re being unkind. 😢

Jdkdieieieddj As impressed as I am with their sound with Didier on bass, Martin will always be Ringmasters’ bass to me.
Parker Rognrud I think lots of people think that

Actually John Newell from is from Australia isn't he? Although you are right in saying that they are the first quartet ALL not from North America :D
Bryce-William Irvine First BHS Affiliate quartet (SNOBS).

how did they know ?
+Hitashi son they just did
The greatest song the ringmasters do is Notre Dame Medley. It's musical perfection
Devrek Wassupi Agree, one of the best songs ever done in barbershop style...

dont forget, there is one more person, who made the arrangement for them. which is at least the half if the success.
It's 2024, and I still miss Martin.

Their sound and expertise is wonderful!!!!
Beautiful. They are brilliant together.
uh...awesome don't come close to describing this quartet. Thank you Ringmasters...what an honor to hear you guys!!!

Amazing & awesome.arrangement!
that is one sick overtone at 3:21
...it made my toes curl up.
So many tritone substitutions!!
Amazing! Apparently you guys have 2 tenors. Great arrangement and performance!
The tenor and lead switch over the years.
Three. Emanuel can tenor too. And frequently does.
HOLY SHIT 2:00-2:16 is simply sublime
La perfection à l'état pur...
I'm sorry but I can't hear that overtone on 3:21 what I hear is the lead doing head voice twice changing keys which is incredible in itself
You are probably right, but there is definitely an overtone, a sound that no human could ever make
I agree. There isn't a distinct overtone there. I listened over and over
Just the greatest barbershop quartet
Holy mother. What is the 2nd song? The finish is ridiculous!
Very very good
These guys are awesome !!
First song "So In Love" written by Cole Porter for his wife, Linda Porter. Not sure who arranged this for Ringmasters.
David Wright
Incredible arrangement!
Phenomenal
GOAT

I am a complete swooner for anything Cole Porter. The song(the first one) is not easy to sing.
Why is it the basses always seem to be tall and thin? :)

Then explain Jim Henry, the bass from Clutch and Cory Hunt. 😉
Explain the bass in Masterpiece

I like Didier, but Martin was such a fantastic bass
The lead looks evil every time they do a close up of his face. O.o

I think he’s adorable as well as the other three ❤

3:49-4:01 is the best part
Correction: 0:00 to 8:06 is the best part.
