India still has lots of problems! Passport strength is direct reflection of how people of a country behave and would potentially behave. If you see how people in India have become impatient on roads, in lifts, in queues, how people in India litter everywhere, you will get a fair idea how we will set the image of India. I had been to many countries and most people there behave well compared to how we behave. You can call me names, but it’s a fact. Driving 10 km in cities like Pune or Bangalore may take upto 2 hours sometimes. Is it because of population, yes but mainly it’s because of impatient and animalistic behaviour of people who instead of waiting in lines will find ways to overtake even if there is no space for the vehicles from other side to come. Tokyo’s population density is even more than these cities but do Japanese behave like sh!t? Think about that what we are teaching to our young generation. India is just a bubble of self praising people. One day it will burst and we will realise that we do have hell lot of problems which needs to sorted rather than boasting about our culture.
Your bubble analogy is unfortunately, true. Too much chest thumping by us needs to be stopped.
Disciplining people before providing them passport is the need of an hour i.e building of discipline and etiquette classes . Also, we must emphasize on teaching our new generation about sustainable development.

Serbia will not provide visa free travel from 1 jan. 2023.
The other main reason for weak passport is that Indians(especially from Punjab, haryana, gujarat) use these visa free countries for illegal migration to other countries.
Serbia is ending visa free entry for Indians from 1st Jan, 2023.
In read even Indonesia removed. In 2019 I have been to Indonesia and there was no fee
Serbia has become an illegal route for Indians to enter Europe.

In Haryana, the "kharcha Pani fee which police take from you ranges between 500 to 1000. Irony is that you have to pay to establish your identity.
It's happening everywhere in India not only in Haryana!
Reason is over population... Who would want flood of people to run into its country. already with so much hindrance we are still migrating in huge numbers.
It's not about country's power or population. If foreign nations gain something like tourism money etc. Only then they will give free visa. For that rupee should be stronger than other countries currencies.
Corruption is another reason. I had to pay exta Rs 2000 while applying for a passport. If I don't pay the money the ranking will go much higher.Jay hind

There is no need to pay anything extra to anyone , no one is asking any money , no one in police or even the passport centres , Do not go to agent , just do the process online yourself

One important reason for this is that all high and mighty in India have special passports like Diplomatic and official passports so they are not bothered for ordinary citizens passport rankings or issues.
I love the fact how some of us r accepting our mistakes that we don't behave properly and export illegal immigration. We r getting rich but I hope quality of our population also gets rich as well.

Before Visa, Indian driving license stringent rules must apply, Indians can’t even exchange their driving license abroad. This is connected to Passport as an Important document In Western Countries.
