In the grand scheme of things, a few points to note:
1) US kept supporting pak and finally resulting in 9/11 mastermind hiding in Pak.
2) Benazir's and other pak leaders reluctantance to remove terrorist and ISI symphathisers resulted in her assasination and /or other leaders untimely removal (coup).
3) All in all was a loose - loose situation for both US and Pak. American Policy makers lied to their nation.
And Pak lied to their nation.
Results are out in the open. Pak is virtually bankrupt.
US is almost bankrupt with all the war spendings.
Meanwhile public suffers....
