This is the best scrunchie video. I appreciate the recap at the end. The instructions were so easy to follow and I agree, the best method to make a scrunchie.Thank you.
Laura, I really like your manner of teaching. You are so calm and have such a pleasant voice. Often times I can’t even finish a video because of the presenter’s voice. Thank you for your great videos.
These would be so cute using 2 fabrics sewn down one long side first with a scant 1/4 inch seam. When they are twisted in the hair they will show both colors, perfect for team spirit, school colors, etc. This is the best scrunchie tutorial on the web!!! Bless you, Laura!
This is perhaps the best how to video I have watched. Thank you for cutting the scenes in a time saving manner and getting straight to the point. Also, thank you for direct instructions without a lot of distractive chatter. You have excellent communication skills. How refreshing!
WOW, so much easier than flipping and fishing! Thank you for sharing. Your videos are a great pace. You're not whipping through it and you're not taking forever over explaining like others I've seen. Plus your tone and volume is very calming to listen too. You can tell you make videos to educate not (just) to get likes. Thank for that!
Thank you, Laura. I started sewing a year ago, and I have learned so much watching you. You are a great teacher! My granddaughter wants to make scrunchies today, and I'm sure we will be successful.
Well..I've joined in and LEARNEd how to do a scrunchie! I had a lot of fabric left over from shortening a dress...and now my daughter will have a matching scrunchie! Thanks for your very clear and patient step by step!
Thank you for this video! This project was easy enough to introduce sewing to my granddaughter. By the time we finished our 7th scrunchy, she was doing most all on her own and was very proud!
I've been using your elastic technique for mine, and I love it! I used to dread trying to push narrow elastic under the presser foot, and jamming the machine. I also think this method scrunches up the scrunchie better, making it look fuller and puffier. Also, it prevents the elastic from migrating inside of the scrunchie and/or twisting itself around. I'm going to try your closure method, too. I don't want to do the burrito method, and this is a great option for a neat closure. You are a great instructor! You show everything clearly, the video is well-lit, too.
Wow you are a Great Teacher. I loved how you showed the steps again at the end by having different samples finished at different levels. Thank you so much.
Hi Laura, I've seen so many scrunchie tutorials, but your tutorial, by far is the best! I enjoy you teaching method and always check out your videos when they are published. Thank you!
Your tutorial is amazing!! I have always disliked making scrunchies as I found it too tedious for the price I could sell them for. Now I can finally enjoy making scrunchies the SewVeryEasy way. Thank you Laura!!
I love it! Year's ago I made matching scrunchies for my daughter's softball team. I did it 'the original way', sewing the tube 1st, threading the elastic with a safety pin... this is so much quicker! Thank you! ⚘
Thaaaaank! 😮😊 you Ms Laura! I am a newbie I been struggling. Learning w you is so easy breezy. No annoying music, no extra excessive talking, str8ght to the point. I promise I will be back so many times until I get it. 😂
I just started sewing and I was making hair scrunchies but they never looked seamless or professionally made. Now they look amazing because of your tutorial! Thank you so much my new fav way to make them and it is so easy now! It did take me a few times to get it, but now I understand the concept 😊
This is the best way to sew a scrunchie! I’ve tried many ways and thank goodness I found her way! Less stress and more scrunchies for my granddaughter’s Christmas! Thank you so much!
I found your video (March 2022) on making scrunchies and must say, This Is the BEST way to sew them when using elastic! No hand sewing; flipping right-sides out with the elastic already inside is unique. My Go-To Method from now on. Thank You!
I just made 24 of these for a craft show coming up in May. I loved the way you sew the elastic at each end, so much easier to handle and I can do quite a few in an hour. I did use 10 inches of elastic instead of 8 inches.
I have been sewing most of my life and I must say I have never used this method but I am inspired to try your technique. Thank you so much. You have a nice calm demeanor and teaching method.
I struggled tonight making my first one. I watched a dozen videos before this and while I understood what they were doing...your method just clicked with me. Thank you! I cannot wait to try this!
I have promised a young lady that I would make her scrunchies for Christmas - so happy to have found this technique! Thank you, love all your videos & instruction
Thank you. I have sewn all kinds of things from crafts to formals, my first formals out of velvet when I was 14 I made 3 for myself and 2 friends in choir. Can you believe I've never made a hair scrunchie. I will now thanks to you. My daughter and granddaughters are really into them.
Thank you for this tutorial! I watched another one with different methods that didn't seem to be the most straightforward way of making scrunchies, and thought, "There's gotta be better way..." Almost 3 min into your video, you had me going, "YES! *This* is what I'm looking for!" Thank you again for sharing this method, and in such a clear and kind manner.
Hello ma'am, I am a scrunchie obsessed and was searching for a double layer scrunchies but ended up watching your video.. I must say your way of making scrunchie is really different which makes you unique from others and I think I don't regret spending my time watching your Video. Nice work 👌 it was really helpful..Thank You ☺
I almost gave up!! LOL. Out of all the wonderful things I have made, I could not make a scrunchie to save my life! Every week my 6 year old granddaughter came over, she was looking for scrunchies. The last one I made she said "Umm GiGi, this is not right" with a puzzled look on her face. LOL.. I felt like such a failure. Why???!! in God's name can I not make a scrunchie? The other methods where just not right to me. But then here you come.. and the sun shines once again! Thank you for restoring my confidence in my ability to make whatever my granddaughter asks. She knew I could do it...but you gave me faith in myself. I appreciate your professionalism and your gift of teaching is truly God given. God bless you for sharing your gift and love of sewing with us. Sharon.
My granddaughter wants to learn to sew, and I'm sending here to watch your video. This will be a fun and easy project for her to practice with and have something really cute and useful at the end! I've made scrunchies for my girls, but now she'll learn as well! Thanks again!!!
Laura, this is my new favorite way to make scrunchies! And, all of my friends too. They make great little additions to care packages and stocking stuffers. These are just so easy to make! One extra tip, I’d you want to have an extra large scrunchie, just you can start with a third of a roll of fabric. Or even larger-my go to one right now is an XL crushed velvet one. It’s a dun way to use scrap material!
this is amazing. I am not a classic sewing person, but did get a machine to make some simple curtains with as i was not finding a pattern i liked. I have sewn before, but limitedly. Since i got a new machine i am looking for beginner projects and this is great. Wife and daughter will be getting scrunchies for the holidays !
Hello Laura, thank you for teaching my granddaughters and I how to make scrunches. We REALLY love the way you teach omg we have seen so many videos and you got the GOLD STAR :-).
