I wanted to stand up and give this a round of applause when it was over.
Often sang this as a 1st soprano 50 years ago…….still drives tears in my eyes hearing it.
I learned this song in high school. Never could get through it without tears streaming down my face. It is absolute beauty.
Diese Sensibilität ist nur gerecht und gerechtfertigt!
In 30 years of music ministry - all styles, there is a depth of spirituality found in renaissance polyphony that seems to transcend all else. It has always taken me to the holiest places, when other music failed.

Gloire à Dieu! C'est magnifique 🥹
I recall singing this wonderful motet and the mass based on it at Manchester Cathedral many years ago. Superb music and glorious to sing.
Songs like this & the Duruflé Requiem always feels like an outer body experience when I listen to them😱😮💝🎶
Danke, danke vielmals für diese schöne Musik. Gelobet sei Jesus Christus in aller Ewigkeit. AMEN.
Totally divine in every sense of the word!
Splendid - as everything by the Tallis Scholars !
Eine klasse Aufnahme!
meraviglioso
Precioso
magnifique!
glorious
I'm starting to feel like this guy was a huge inspiration to G.F. Handel. Enjoyed this on its own merits, though, what a great ending!
Stupendo
This performance is pretty flawless. I better listen again to check......
The soprano voices seem to sing Tui es Petrus. Which is weird. Why the “i”?
This music makes me think of Pope Benedict XVI. I miss him every day.
This is also what you can read at the base of the cuppola of St. Peter's basilica in giant golden letters on blue background.
Epic ending.
❤❤
Is there a way to get sheet music for this from you?
can we ask a copy of the score?
Long live Pope Francis! Long live the Catholic Church! Laudetur Iesus Christus.
Papa Francisco tu es petrus
TROPPO NASALE
