My friend John is super into experimenting with racket setups. in this video, i test out four of his contraptions. One is a 1lb racket (but 20 points headlight!), a racket modified to match Djokovic's racket specs, and two rackets with weed whacker string in it (one at 55lbs and the other was hand-strung 😳).

Also, if y'all want the science, the weed eater string is Copolymer induced Nylon, aka they combined polyester and nylon at the same time so you will feel both properties biased towards polyester (since they extruded it in a stiff form)

Yeah I tried this one tho bc it was the most cost effective while not having titanium in it or another extremely stiff element, so this one could actually feel nice while most others would probably kill your arm

depending on the thickness of the weed whacker you get, you may have to remove the grommets. this stuff was actually enjoyable to play with

Weed wacker is just nylon so not that much different to synthetic gut
yep exactly. john explained it to me more off camera but you're pretty much exactly right. polyester + synthetic gut so it's spinny, durable, soft. great stuff fr
Weed wacker size? I found only the 2.4mm.. too big
i think he just got it at home depot
Yeah look for 0.064 and lower in diameter (this was the lowest I could find)
