I went to the The Gettysburg Museum of History last week and actually got to meet Eric as well casually walking down the street with his wife. Very nice man and a pleasure to meet. Fantastic museum and one of the highlights of my trip.
Nice!
I’ll be visiting Gettysburg again. We went last week and got there about 31 minutes after the museum closed 🤦🏻♂️ So excited to go again and see all of this stuff with my own eyes. This stuff is truly amazing
Lucky you!! I went to Gettysburg two weeks ago and was hoping to finally see the museum, unfortunately I went on a Monday and that’s when I found out they are closed Monday and Tuesday! I was so let down but I will definitely try again because I know it’s going to be worth it!!
Ed from Lynchburg
Just discovered your channel and LOVE it! Patricia Gambino Harrington (I post on my husband's UA-cam acct)
As a new 2lt in the 82d Airborne in 1968, the officer's club had a complete set of captured Nazi silverware used for special occasions.
Very cool Erik those silver goblets. With all the custom work! Also thank you JD
👍🏻
Love seeing relics like these. Repurposed items given to American heroes. Thank you!
Interesting stuff, thank you Erik and JD!
Beautiful pieces. Thank you for showing them to us.
The silver while very interesting is secondary to me when compared to all that cultural heritage, the art, that was recovered and returned.
👍🏻
As soon as I saw the title, I knew where some of it eventually ended up 😉 Erik has a fantastic collection 👍
😂
When I see these relics-- I can’t help but wonder just how many human lives each relic cost! They are beautiful, but also haunting at the same time.
Those goblets are AMAZING!!!
Pretty dang cool.
I never heard about this before. This is awesome knowledge! Thanks for sharing this history!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool seeing those cups Thank you JD and Eric
Incredible history you have in this video!!!
Im very interested in anything to do with Herman Goering. I liked him alot before his fateful meeting with his Fuhrer. This was really cool to see. Im really looking forward to the new movie Russell Crowe, Rami Malik and others are making called "Nuremberg." Russell Crowe will play Herman Goering and I think (and hope) he does a good job. Love your videos, Thanks guys ❤
ne neighbor who was in WW2 brought back something like that. years ago i remember seeing oakleaves engravings. When he passed away his son donated it
Way to go bringing history alive in Pa
👍🏻
I would love to see the collections at the Gettysburg museum. However, I am wheelchair bound. Is the museum accessible? From the videos I have watched it does not seem to be so.
Was at the site of Carinhall two weeks ago and liberated some artefacts from Göring's house.. Admittedly it was.just part of a roof tile and wall tile, but still counts right? 😂
Wow, great great stuff !!!
Thanks!
Cool video, my grandpa was with the 82ABN , he made three combat jumps, when talking about the 101ABN he always said The-One-O- worst airborne division. 😊
Göring was the Reichjägermeister. All the hunting authorized answered to him with regards to hunting
Question , Is it possible that some of those goblets where silver that is those savages took from those folks who took that long train ride ?
On a Brighter note have you ever visited the 101st museum at Ft. Campbell ? It covers the division from the beginning up to probably to present I was stationed there back late 79 to Middle of 81
I found it very interesting especially the waco glider inside.
I never knew they existed wow❤
They traded with a German Tiger Tank crew. Haven’t you seen Kelly’s Heroes?
Elkins got the goblet that has what appears to be an Elk 😂
Stolen Wedding Goblets, hunting Goblets. Crazy
What did they do with all liquor they found as shown in Band of Brothers?
Pretty sure they drank it.
Amazing
"AIRBORNE!"

Where is the rest of Goerings silver, not hard to work out.
You guys should photograph these better for filming, you can barely see what the engraving is from the lighting.
If the Allied soldiers didn't take it, it would have all been destroyed.
Definitely a possibility.
Probably "liberated" from some GI who found it first. RHIP as they say!
Trophies for the higher ranking officers but not for the EMs or NCOs.
HEY....Wheres your new side Kick Marty Sheen? Thought for sure you'd have him permanently hangin out with you in your videos.....Im THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED...Throw Joe Biden in there too! All three of you would make a Terrific Trio. "The Liberal History Underground Channel". Hey, why not, right?
Holy crap. This guy. 😂
@@TheHistoryUnderground Just speaking what I see as where you are really coming from. Calling a Spade a Spade. Now, you are doing Mayan Culture (or whatever that latest video is), Nuclear waste. WTH? I think I now know where you are going, J.D./J.C.? Something is rotten in Denmark and its NOT WWII Denmark anymore. ....Very disappointing, because I've been following you for years. Not anymore. "Somewhere, over the Rainbow?" Time for a Course Correction? Apologies, but over half a Million Subscribers one becomes like a Politician. Gotta take the Criticism. Just Part of the Gig.
Have you done a series on any updated holocaust victims families fighting to get their property back. Isn’t Switzerland still hiding art and money and refusing to cooperate?
One of the weirdest relics I've seen at a show was Goering's sterling silver cigar box, complete with handles made from boar's tusks. Saw it at the Show of Shows about a dozen years ago. Very cool but extremely creepy.
Erik, what a score! To drink from your enemies cups! I hope to visit your museum some day.
Another awesome video both you and. Eric ! Top notch stuff . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.......
👍🏻
Ironically been the twice never stopped at the meuseum now I can't walk
I'm with you, samething with me!
Absolutely fascinating.
Cool!
Fascinating! Thanks.
101st could definitely win an award for the shortest contribution that took so much loot in ww2 ., Not even a whole year of combat...hmmm
Well dang.
Fabulous.
Hey, JD, do a series on the Nazis in America and their influence. It would be historical and relevant to today at the same time.
Indeed. Especially the aspect where a criminal of any caliber couldn’t run a corporation but the freed nazis sure did. Try all that today.
I had a professor at UC Santa Barbara, who sounded like the narrator in the intro.
My California accent is starting to disappear out here in Missouri, but, hopefully i never sound like him....
Awsome video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Who did the engravings? An American or German artisan?
Really enjoyed the video mate can't wait for the n ext one
Stole his silver!
This topic has always fascinated me, thanks for posting this. Someone I know has that 101st Airborne sign of Göring’s artwork. Do you often get these items free or do you have to purchase them from families?
I think that we may both know the same guy. 😅
