Despite most of its subject matter, it’s very cool and interesting to see the things that survived from what feels like another world, that ghetto coat is a tactile reminder of the horrors inflicted on ordinary people like you and me
WW2 unboxing video and a new part of the museum!!!?? Does it get any better!? These unboxing videos in particular are my favorite of the whole channel, even though it's all good!
Thank you for sharing, I've always been interested in history. I appreciate the way that you all preserve history as well. Thank you for passing the history on to the future generations. Because if we don't pass it on, it will be repeated.
So Cool! Thanks to you both for all of your hard work and dedication to the preservation of history! i Can't wait to come down to the Museum to see it and hopefully meet you guys!
Was just at the museum this past Sunday....such a GREAT place to visit....ya gotta go!!!!.... Thanks for all of the great videos, J.D. you and Erik do such a great job!!!!.... keep it up
Some pretty unique stuff 👍 I'm on the same page as Erik with those pesky packing peanuts 😅 especially when they get a static charge. I think the opening of the new wing would be another meetup opportunity JD 😉
They have that edition of Mein Kampf at Overloon Museum. It belonged to Seyss-Inquart who then gifted it to NSB leader Anton Mussert. It’s huge! Coffee table book 2.0 😂
OMG, I love it when you guys do these videos!! Congrats on receiving these items!! I'm so happy that you guys are going to share them with the world in your annex because that's just where these items belong!! I'm just amazed and in awe!! Eric and JD, you guys are totally awesome!! Congrats on the GMOH annex and I can't wait to see what the GMOH annex looks like after you guys are done getting it together!! It looks great so far!!!! Love this channel and the Rte. 66 series so far!!
Holy cow batman. What incredible stuff. That giant Mein Kampf is super cool and the ghetto jacket is an incredible find. That eagle is just WOW. Can't wait till the new section is open.
Some really interesting pieces. Hitlers Bible. And the painting of him. The Jewish POW coat was moving. The nazi eagle. Is in great shape. Love you got a new addition to Band of Brothers book with your photo credits. Thank you JD and Erik for this video. Impressive! 💯👊👍💕
What strikes me about the Reichs Eagle (Reichsadler) is that, from his perspective, he is not looking to the right, as is usual, but to the left. As far as I know, this was only done if there was a specific reason, for example if there was something opposing or similar to the left of the eagle. In such a case, the eagle was supposed to keep it in view.
That book is extremely rare! The first thing I noticed was the font. I remember reading how it was the Nazis' way of identifying acceptable German books. I believe they reprinted a few books in this font. I forgot what it's called.
I’ll work for free for GMOH and Hist Underground channel for that eagle lol. I’ll just work it off over time haha, Whatever y’all need! All kidding aside great video, the Frederick the great piece was really interesting, never seen that before.
Please don't complain when you have to open a very well packaged box. The former owner worked hard to be sure their item(s) arrived undamaged. If I heard that, I would consider donating my item to another museum or selling it myself and keeping the money.
What an amazing video and channel. I spoke with a lady from Germany when I was in Gettysburg and she was surprised at all the ss stuff in your shop. She said that stuff is illegal in Germany 🤷♂️
I’d get the creeps having Holocaust items in my collection, though I do have a few, but nothing like that ghetto coat. Really incredible. That Mein Kampf is massive! Shipping would be a Lot!
We all know what the guy with a Funny mustache thought of Frederick the Great, but what would Frederick the Great think of the man with a funny mustache. JD, tell Erik if he wants to sell photographs from Easy Company, I might buy few.
I'm not a fan of Hitler in any way shape or form, but I would love to own that incredible piece of history... Wow! I don't think I could put it on my wall, but perhaps a "historical" room would be appropriate for it..
Im in uk and would love to visit this museum..haave to keep doingbthe lottery! Saw. Pic of dick wintets book in the window.. HAng Tough im reading it now...fab book.
Was this another one of those times when the postal service employees packaging the majority of the items in this video were thinking to themselves "They don't pay me enough for this job?"
I'm thinking of doing a Q&A with my grandpa that served in the US navy of the uss intrepid. Any questions anybody would have and ill make a video with him and his answers? Thank you! JD if you can help me woth this id be forever grateful
Speaking of Mein Kampf, I suppose you know that Hitler wrote a passage that said in effect, if a government becomes oppressive it is the responsibility of the people to overthrow it. That passage was used by the plot members to overthrow Hitler, the one Rommel was allegedly a member of, as code to determine if a person was part of the plot or not. It was on a certain page and paragraph on that page and was used as simple numbers like page number and paragraph number so the plot members could simply say 65, 4, (I'm using those numbers as an example because I don't remember the actual page and paragraph numbers) and if they got a verification from the other person, which I do not remember, the plot member could talk freely with the other person who had now been identified as a fellow plot member. Also, speaking of authors, did you know that JRR Tolkien's book The Hobbit was so well liked by many Nazis in Germany that the minister of propaganda's man assigned to see if Tolkien would have the book edited and printed in German. The edits had something to do with Bilbo Baggins being an Ayrian while every bad creature like Gollum were to represent the Jews. That information is found in one of the authorized release of correspondence both to Tolkien and from Tolkien. Tolkien wrote back saying something that he knew would infuriate the Nazis, while at the same time denying their request. At any rate the huge version of Mein Kampf reminds me of the huge Bibles on many church pulpits, made big so that a preacher can address the congregation without having to look down into a regular sized Bible, but is free to move around while preaching and using text. I wonder if the big Mein Kampf was to serve a similar purpose.
I love this channel but FOLDING an historical painting (even though it had been folded before) is an excellent way to damage it even further. Come on man!
People just send you stuff, or do you buy it from them usually? I’m surprised you were able to get a copy of that book, in the Netherlands, it is illegal to reprint that book in any way.
love that Speirs and Winters are standing guard makin sure no shenanigans happen🤙😎🤙

Oh man, that's all so awesome. Congratulations! I'm glad it's being preserved and is with guys who appreciate it.
You guys have the best job ever! Imagine getting to see and touch artifacts on a daily basis ❤
Fascinating items. We must never forget.

I am so jealous right now. Amazing ww2 artifacts. Oh, what I would give to have that Eagle ... Least its in good hands. Cheers
Amazing artifacts. I'm glad to see they are preserved for the future. .
Probably the one thing everyone can agree on. We all hate packing peanuts 😊
JD and Eric, I was blown away by the Mein Kampf book. Fantastic items.
Really impressed by everything unboxed in this video, especially the eagle, the coat with the Star of David on it, and the "Struggle" book.
Thank you for sharing, I've always been interested in history. I appreciate the way that you all preserve history as well. Thank you for passing the history on to the future generations. Because if we don't pass it on, it will be repeated.
Awesome unboxing! You guys need a Bob Burns cutter, though. 🗡️
🤣 not signed though... signed only for Wittman´s subscribers ...
Excited to see what’s in the box! Briefly saw Eric at the museum on a Sunday but did not have the courage to say hi.
Always look forwrd to the unboxing videos.

Man I would've loved to have opened up these boxes, probably the only time I would've used my library of science degree.
Some interesting artifacts. Thanks for sharing.
Always awesome to see another unboxing

I’m going to make a bucket list to go there.
Great stuff Gentleman ! Thanks for posting! I will be there in 2 weeks...

Wow. Some amazing artifacts.
15:29 photo album was definitely worth a couple of lugers..😂😂
That eagle and the jewish ghetto coat were something else, definitely didn't expect to see those coming out of the box!
Man, when you all said Big Boxes, you weren't kidding....
Great video, really special artifacts needed for preservation!
Great video. Where and when did you and Eric meet. Such a great team
Amazing. I can’t wait to take a trip up there.

I'm going to have to make time for this museum this year. Haven't burned any vacation.

It’s not illegal to have but you just can’t display the symbols.

Ah ok
Tell Erik to stop out bidding me on all these militaria pages 😂
Awesome stuff !!
In the Netherlands it's forbidden to reprint and sell that book. It's the only book that this applies to.. and it's not the Band of Brothers book
Actually its allowed to buy and sell them. Reprints can also be boughg with historical annecdotes. Book is basically unreadable without.
I think Erik and Jared from Reel History are voiced by the same actor.
Very very cool
That coat took my breath away.
Coool items.... but imo that giant eagle on the wall seems different from the one TGM got it...
I’d get the creeps having Holocaust items in my collection, though I do have a few, but nothing like that ghetto coat. Really incredible. That Mein Kampf is massive! Shipping would be a Lot!
great video thank you
Awesome video 😊
Priceless items.

Awesome
great stuff chaps
Awesome unboxing video, JD does Erik have a date yet for opening the expansion to the public?
We’re working on it. 🙂
I'm not a fan of Hitler in any way shape or form, but I would love to own that incredible piece of history... Wow! I don't think I could put it on my wall, but perhaps a "historical" room would be appropriate for it..
You should get a JD mannequin for the new museum. Just donate a flannel shirt and that frayed hat.
😂
I hate packing peanuts too lol
So cool! I want that book! 😊
A question for Eric, has the Fallschirmjäger knife ever needed sharpening or does it still have its original honing?
That painting of H….er looks like Dracula. That was my first thought when I saw it.🤷♀️
Can you please explain the knife Erik used? I’m a collector and don’t recognize the name or style of the knife? Very cool. 👍🏻
Im in uk and would love to visit this museum..haave to keep doingbthe lottery! Saw. Pic of dick wintets book in the window.. HAng Tough im reading it now...fab book.
I live in Italy, and you can't find such items, not even in museums. But does the material come from private collections?
Are we able to purchase that new release book? And if so, where?
Which publisher is making that reissue of Band of Brothers? Thanks.
Was this another one of those times when the postal service employees packaging the majority of the items in this video were thinking to themselves "They don't pay me enough for this job?"
It ain’t government work if you don’t have to do it twice.
Have you ever read Mein Kampf? The translated version of course..
I'm thinking of doing a Q&A with my grandpa that served in the US navy of the uss intrepid. Any questions anybody would have and ill make a video with him and his answers? Thank you! JD if you can help me woth this id be forever grateful
He's so rough unpacking those boxes!! How many has he broken or cut?
None.
Holy Crap !!

Was the coat provided by the Nazis or made by ghetto residents? Interesting artifacts!

@@shtrzrus hey, appreciate the offer. Unfortunately, I’ve already rolled through there. Would love to make the trip again sometime though.
