Love my 2008 Rocket - get a compliment every time I take it out - "What the he!! is that thing!" "OMG what engine is that?" "that tank is ridiculous!"........
Fellow Rocketeer here! I had a 2018 Roadster (hit a deer and totaled it). Now i have a 2015 Roadster! I modded the crap out of both lol most comfortable cruiser ive ever ridden and will power wheelie no problem! 🤘 you've got a sub from me brotha!
hello dear friend on track to get a Rocket ii l'm watching every avaao e taday, I already every available test as well as videos. so happened to watch yours today. I already own a new generation rocket 3r, nevertheless having a taste of these wonderful engines I also want the older classic model in my collection. It looks incredibly beautiful. I would like some help from you because I heard a nice deep sound in the video. have you made any changes to the exhaust ends or any upgrades to the existing ones? any information would be very helpful. thank you
That's a shield from a company called Clearview. You have to already have a Triumph windscreen for the hardware, they only send you the plastic, but they're great shields!
Would you take this on a big trip? I've got an 1100 sabre about 45 minutes of riding and I have to take a break. I'm looking for something I can get on and ride 75 to 100 mi without being sore lol.
I've ridden my Rocket from Macon, GA to Orlando, FL without stopping except to buy gas a couple times, was about 4.5 hours! That said, it wasn't super fun, haha. I've since set the bike up for touring a lot better, with a Corbin seat, highway pegs, and I've also moved the footpegs forward by installing some from an original gen Rocket III, and it's not a bad bike to spend a day on at all. It doesn't hold a candle to my Indian Challenger though, floorboards and fairing go a long way.
Triumphs have a lot of character across the board, but yeah the Rocket is the only one I would own. My buddy has a Speed Triple S and that is a badass bike though.
Hey. Curious about your camera mounted to the bars. Is that the Insta One RS? I'm looking at the Insta360 x3 for an upcoming trip to Sturgis.. but wondering if the One RS is a better choice. Also, I agree about Triumph's decision to aim the Rocket at a sport market. I had a 2012 Thunderbird and loved it and had Triumph made a "real" touring bike.. I probably would've stayed with the brand.. but I went to Indian (Chieftain Dark Horse).
Tank has a nice sheen to it, did you apply something to achieve that look or perhaps that's just a lighting effect? My 2016 has the blk matte finish but it's not that reflective.
I have a black 2004 rocket 111 I have had it 11 years love it to bits nearly sold it once I also have a 2nd gen busa and have a rocket 3 gt with bags a £1000 option
I got the chance to do two extended demo rides on a 2023 Rocket 3R... about 150 miles in total, no speed limits, I was asked to put it in Sport mode and go and get on it.... I wasn't that impressed. You look at the numbers and you think its gonna rip your arms off, but it just wasn't that fast. Doing a roll on against a Speed Twin(same model year), it was neck and neck with the 1200... Both were in sport mode, throttle buried... Not new to bikes here... had 34 of them, big Triumph fan, I ride fast on the street and do track days, etc... But as cool as it was, the performance left me a bit underwhelmed for what I was expecting... Part of that is how restricted it is from the factory, and 5 min with TuneECU can fix that... But out of the box, I was "meh"...
If you were neck and neck with a Speed Twin on a Rocket III of any make, something was very, very wrong, even before the ECU being unlocked. Turn off Traction Control maybe?
@@cl2eep_rides traction control doesn't add or remove power unless it breaks traction. The bike is just heavy AF, heavily restricted and doesn't like to rev out quickly...
I kind of agree! The new 2.5l triple is so refined, it actually feels like "less" of an engine than the old 2.3l triple. The old 2.3l is very punchy right off the bottom. The new 2.5l feels more like a big speed triple! Although, all it takes is a Penner Tune and the new 2.5l will make more power literally everywhere in the rpm range. Its sad that theyre so restricted from the factory, but in a way i enjoy the "little known secret" of how crazy they get after a tune!
i've had mine since 2015' bought it new a 2014 Rocket III Roadster- the looks are acquired taste I tell folks it has torque of a bull I have almost 53K miles on my rocket and Tires and oil changes mostly is all it needs I am interested in those grips are those Factory OEM's? I will say the OG the original rocket is the real rocket- there is no riding modes etc, there is no needless technology and he is right about the attention this bikes gets I get looks everywhere I take it. Mine is the same White Stripe aka. 'the skunk' the Roadster is the one you want the touring is better for long 200-500 miles per day riding (better riding position) I got mine brand new for 11,999 before the extra bs charges that you get with dealerships
I've only been making videos in earnest for about a year, and have probably only made about 10 total videos that I intended for public consumption, but thanks for the comment it really helps the engagement numbers. It's called a Motovlog because it's a blog. I'm talking about life in addition to the subject matter, sorry if you're too simple to understand UA-cam works.
I always love the Triumph Rocket 3 had the chance to demo ride one of these a couple of years ago it was just a blast to ride but with a 30 minutes ride it not long enough but last summer it was time for change so a dealer near me had a super deal on a 2020 Rocket 3 GT with only 800 miles on it the new version of the Triumph and men what a bike im a Harley enthousiaste never had the chance to buy one but instead when i saw that the number on the Rocket is a wapping 153 cubic inches in Harley numbers that blew my mind i said bye bye Harley and hello Triumph, for me the GT is more a muscle bike then a touring bike i came off a Kawasaki Concours its a sporting tourer but i want a big comfortable muscle bike. hello from Montreal Quebec excuse my english i speak french.
I don't understand one (of many american) thing. You say that you work in insurance and speak with people after injuries. And even though you are riding in the t-shirt without proper protection gear???
Way older and about as fat as you and love my 2020GT. It does great for touring as well. I have been on 10 day trips, I have done 1100 miles in 24 hours, the GT handled it great. 64,000 miles on my GT so far. Please tell me what your Roadster can do that the GT cant do better. I also had a 15 Triumph Touring, great bike but the GT is much better.

Yeah I always joke that you can park one and take a few steps back and watch the crowd form! It never fails!

Love the sound of these. A bit of diesel v8 meets old war plane.
Yeah I always say it's like a tractor, haha.

Awesome video, I like the windshield vent and bag, what make are they?
Windshield is a Clearview, the bag is just a Flea Market special!
@@cl2eep_ridesI managed to get windshield bag but clutch cable is a bit blocked by the bag, did you face that?
I have owned air cooled triumphs sold my first rocket I was sad now I have my second rocket the only triumph I would own

Tank has a nice sheen to it, did you apply something to achieve that look or perhaps that's just a lighting effect? My 2016 has the blk matte finish but it's not that reflective.
Just 60k miles on wind and dirt, haha. The matte clear coat starts to fade after a while, which actually makes the bike glossier.
