If it doesn't have a gastube how is it going to operate? Is it gonna be a super short bolt action ar9?

So a 9 mm platform is not gas operated like a 556 or 300 blackout would be. It’s just direct blowback.

Do you mind me asking where you got the barrel from?

Absolutely. I bought them from Midwest industries. Depending on the day they can cost between 40 and $60 but if you buy the four pack, it comes out to $25 per barrel.
