Thank you so much!!! Answered so many questions i had about building an ar9. I researched a lot of places and your short video answered all the important questions to build proper ar 9mm
That quickly summarized most of what I learned over a longer period of investigation! Before I was only comparing dedicated 9mm setups, but then I started to consider a conversion.

Kinda disappointing. I didn't get to use my fast-forward even once. Nothing to skip through, nothing but good, useful information on target for what I was looking for!
I completely agree, no fooling around and trying to be funny, no trying to sell things, just information on what they're presenting, no more, no less, very professional.
I had a issue with a BCA 9mm upper. The bolt binded up with the Stern's Defense Glock conversion. When I closed the upper and lower the Glock magazines would not release. I called Stern's and BCA. BCA said thier products work well with the Stern's Defense Glock conversion. Stern's said I should try thier bolt. The tech asked me to measure my bolt. I used my digital calipers and he gave me the tolerances and the BCA was so far out of speck. I just ordered a Stern's Defense bolt and it runs like butter. Sometimes going cheap ends up costing you way more than you expected.
I would only add one more thing. When torquing the barrel nut make sure it is aligned as if you were going to place a gas tube, IF NOT and you decide to put a Magpul handguard it will not be aligned properly because it uses the teeth on the barrel nut to do so. I am no expert but had that issue myself. Thank you.
Thank You I've have learned so much from you guys that's why any time I'm going to do something new with all of my arsenal the first thing I do is go to Brownells and get the low down! Again Thank You. JR
If anyone is looking at this and wondering if they can save money without sacrificing features or reliability, I recently got a faxon 9mm BCG and barrel, an armaspec 9mm stealth recoil spring, and some mean arms endomag conversion kits. I had 0 failures to feed, fire, or eject over about 500 rounds. I know that's not a ton, but that is without any real break in with the parts. I also bought a rise armament blitz trigger as it is PCC rated, and that trigger is fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend this combo of parts if you want to dip your toes into the PCC segment.
@@clopez84 I didn't, but not because of incompatibility or anything. I ended up going from a side charging upper to another side charging upper, only difference was ejection port size. Same OEM, same basic function. If you already have a 5.56 stripped upper, there is no reason not to use it. That being said, you still need a different barrel and BCG
@@gavingross2174 thank you brother. I will use my spare 556 stripped upper. Def changing bcg barrel and muzzle. My gawd how awful it would be if I didnt. Lol.

I second that. I’m having major issues with my AR-9. I swap between endo mags and colt mags depending on the type of bullet tip I’m running. A lot of failure to feed issues where the round will get stuck slanted half way in the barrel.
Just got an Advertisement for 9mm conversion kit. Did UA-cam search and as I suspected ya need more parts than what was in the Advertisement. Never mind. Might as well get a PCC
This video is 4 years old and the 223 to 9mm magazine conversion kit wasnt available then, or he didnt know about the kits. They make a conversion kit whereby you remove the guts in your 223/5.56 magazine and insert the filler which allows the 223/5.56 magazine to be loaded with 9mm. This is SO MUCH nicer than what he showed in the video. You wont need adjustments on the bottom of mag well each time you go back n forth from using your AR-15 with 223 and 9mm, and you wont have to deal with the other other problems that are common with the conversion he showed. You just load your 223/5.56 magazine with 9mm rounds and shove the mag into your gun
Am I the only one who noticed when he took the mag adapter out his middle finger found it's way onto the trigger and pulled it dropping the hammer on the lower receiver?
Conversions don't make sense anymore considering PSA and others have dedicated lowers for 225-300. The mag adapters are still 175-200 even after yrs of being on the market plus the reviews are mixed. By the time you buy a barrel and bolt you're only 100 or so away from a dedicated upper. BCA is doing great things with 9mm also including a bufferless system. I'll let them work out the bugs and get a Gen 2 in a couple yrs though!
I love your video do you have any videos on the AR 9 mm platform on how it chambers is the actual round going up into the barrel or does it sit in front of it in the chamber

Does anyone make a reasonably priced 9/10/40/45 pistol upper that doesn't use the AR-style buffer/tube/spring? Considering we've had 3/4" wide 3" 9mm pistols for 20 years.. I'm mystified as to why we don't have a AR upper that doesn't use the buffer tube, which would allow for fire-when-folded braces (or stock as a SBR) What am I missing here? Why no slick-sided self-contained AR pistol uppers??

WOW this was REALLY lacking. You didn't mention that some "drop-in" mag blocks need to you remove the bolt catch just to drop them in. These days (at least 2 years now) there is a company that sells a mag insert that holds 30rds of 9mm in a standard P mag. Load up your standard AR mag and GO. May be later will buy the flashlight. For now just buying parts for next built and will do more AR’s style but will stick with 5.56/223 and 9mm due to ammo costs. I will rather prefer to fired and acquired more accuracy than to have a bunch on different calibers. See you at the range 👊🏻
So basically just buy a brand new already completed 9mm PCC got it. This is too extra lol plus I like having all completed guns. A few years ago it was worth it to build your own at home but the prices are so insane unless you know CNC milling, 3d printing, etc. it’s more expensive to build one buying all the parts. I’m not talking about just buying a lower and complete upper I mean building it from scratch. Once you gotta replace the barrel if it’s not a Glock it’s time to just get a brand new separate gun.
A rifle and pistol that use the same cartridge and magazine is very beneficial. Think lever actions and revolvers back in the old days. Its also cheaper to shoot than 5.56 and 9mm out of a 16" barrel is very effective
A 200 dollar magwell adapter is stupid. A modification for a standard magazine makes way more sense, you can use the magazine that is intended for the rifle!

Your soul.
Can one still use the 556 upper receiver?
The barrel extension is the same outside diameter. The 5.56/.223 upper will receive a Stoner pattern 9MM barrel.
I don't have any desire to convert my ar to a 9mm. Ill just go with a while new rifle like a kel tech or an mpx.
Wow I would just build or buy a 9mm carbine.
@Joshua Bressel yes all quality parts. Enjoy it bro
Why are we forced to listen to a guitar? Very annoying. Your information is entertaining enough.
Why would someone want to convert to 9mm in a rifle? I don’t understand.
A rifle and pistol that use the same cartridge and magazine is very beneficial. Think lever actions and revolvers back in the old days. Its also cheaper to shoot than 5.56 and 9mm out of a 16" barrel is very effective
2:55.😂
It doesn't hurt it to do that on an AR: ua-cam.com/video/Ged8GxBCdrA/v-deo.html
Why in the hell would you want to destroy a AR-15?
Don't let the hammer slap the lower. Lol I saw that. Great info though.
It's not an issue. ua-cam.com/video/Ged8GxBCdrA/v-deo.html
too bad you wouldn't donate one of those "mag adapters" to me.
A 200 dollar magwell adapter is stupid. A modification for a standard magazine makes way more sense, you can use the magazine that is intended for the rifle!
Buy a 9mm. upper and a mag block to accept 9mm. mags.
buffer and spring?
👍👍👍👍
