Dude I used to watch your videos like a decade ago when I was first looking to buy gumpla. Bought a couple of kits, including exia back then. Unfortunately I stopped but I'm glad you're still at it!
Totally agree with you Prime. I bought the MG Exia in 2012, it didn't age well, its very loose. Then I bought the MG Avalanche Exia in 2019 and it's solid as a rock. I too noticed the different quality plastic they used, and the joints are also thicker so I guess Bandai fixed it. These two factors contributed to a higher quality MG Exia / Avalanche Exia.
Oh that's a nice intro. That Strike Exia head is a nice bonus. I was reminded of the old Prime92 intro with the wings thing. Prime92, are you gonna do a new one for your Customs? Oh that original MG Exia was unfortunately my first MG and I was more happy with the MG Shining Gundam that I got after it.
Bandai improved their plastic quality. Recent reprints of old kits, especially those that had the blue Bandai logo, had significantly better plastic quality compared to older prints
Ray C I have 2 HGUC Hazel Custom, one is way back when with the red bandai logo, and one is the more recent reprint with the blue logo. The Blue logo has much better plastic quality. ZakuAurelius also mentioned this when he reviewed the same kit. Prime92 also did a comparison in her MG 00Q Full Saber, with the old, vanilla 00Q. The new 00Q has better plastic quality
@@damiannguyen9195 thank you thank you. Yeah prime never responded to comments asking if the box has the blue logo. I'm trying to get an Exia along with my Kyrios but I dont want to get the old ones if I can help it. I can fix joints but I cant enhance plastic quality.
Ray C the Exia she’s reviewing in the video was one with a red logo, but it seemed to still be of a relatively recent reprint. Interesting. I had heard that the recent re-release of the exia had at least the inner frame plastic "recipe" changed after the issues with the original release. From what I understand the easiest way to spot the re-releases is the Bandai Logo, which I think when it changed to Bandai Spirits? The Bandai logo Changed from Red to Blue. So Red Logo = Incompetent fall apart kit, Blue Logo = Fixed Exia.
As much as I love the MG Exia (I've built 6 different versions of it after all), I gotta admit, Dragon Momoko has made the best 1/100 Exia kit by far.
