Makes sense why fatalis is the secret boss of these games. In a series where man and beast work together, his motivation is “fuck the two-legs that wear our skin, I’ma walk on two legs, melt the bastards down, and stick their charred remains to me to tell them ‘no, u’”. Hardcore.
In the first game it was even implied that Fatalis' rage was the original source of the black blight which, who would have thought, is the complete opposite to kinship and essentially a substance of pure anger and fury.

@@FREGFAT not really in the Monster Hunter universe as there they preserve and protect nature from threats such as Fatalis. I mean, Fatalis litterally burnt down hundreds of forests all over the old world just because he was passing through. It's not like he's made of fire so he deliberately destroyed those ecosystems. He was as if multiple nukes struck the old world without the radiation.
He is described to hate all life, so he's quite a bit worse than humans real life and fantasy included.

The humans of MonHun are descendants of an ancient civilisation that almost drove the Elder Dragons into extinction, destroying themselves in the ensuing war. While most of the Elders recognize that humanity is no longer that way (hence why they no longer attack players on sight as of world), Fatalis' hatred runs so deep that it simply doesn't care.
@@splitjawjanitor5369 that's actually not canon. There also never was one ancient civilization, but multiple.
The one everyone thinks was the only one was the civilization who built the tower in the Fonlon region (a continent east to the old world), but that, and the high tech weapons, are the only things we know about them because they were so secluded.
The others were the villages of the Sandy Plains who may or may not have had a connection to the Valstrax worshippers of the Ruined Pinnacle. (They were probably destroyed by a Valstrax that they worshipped who then turned into a Crimson Glow Valstrax, going insane and destroying everything around it).
Aside from those two there is the civilization that lived in the flooded forest who worshipped the rare endemic life there.
The ruins beneath moga belong to the moga chief's ancestors, the sea people, a race of people that lived underwater. They were destroyed by a Ceadeus rubbing its horns against the island. Moga almost suffered the same fate if it wasn't for your hunter stopping it.
The ruins in the everwoods and ancestral steppe are the same as the ones on Heaven's Mountain and belong to the ancestors of the Wyverians in Cathar. Due to their connection with Magala they probably left the steppe and woods because of something related to it. They were without a doubt the oldest civilization due to the incredibly long lifespans of Wyverians (nearly 1000+ years) and no one who remembers or knows about the times of the civilization being alive today.
Schrade wasn't an ancient civilization, it was destroyed fairly "recently" in history.
They were just a large kingdom in the north-west portion of the old world, very similar to Minnegard today. Fatalis appeared without reason.

@@stygiandragon3865 well, Fatalis mostly spents his time in the tower but remember that whoever crosses that kingdom, either monster or human, will get killed by fatalis if he catches you in his patrol, the MC probably had bad luck at finding Fatalis while he was either patrolling or going back to to his tower

I like that they used his revamped theme from Iceborne. I sort of wish the main series themes were used for other monsters.

@@conchurfitzsimons570 because with dragon element he can get crit genes, dragon element damage genes and dragon element, then his buff skill allow him to get even more crit and dragon damage, with those and a attack that deal dragon element, you can basically deal 1000 dmg each turn, plus the skill it come with have a low cost compare to other high damage skill.

For those who are confused about Fatalis apparently being in the game:
If you look back at the roadmap, the update in question was mentioned as “??? (High Difficulty).” No normal ??? Like what they did first with Kulve being normal and then LATER getting a high difficulty
So yeah, Fatalis was always in the game, it’s just he’s gonna be more of a bitch to deal with in that next update LMAO

Yeah, the only way you can even encounter Fatalis is in post game and you go through a hellish grind. This was the same in the first MHS game too, as he’s also a secret boss in that game.

Well... i haven't bought (and therefore played through*) MHS2... but as someone coming from MHS1's Fatalis... it seems... easier =/, i mean... from what i could properly glimpse in the video:
- Fatalis only get's 2 attacks per turn when enraged
- It's attack tendency is more predictable (Speed when on 4's, Technical when enraged, Power when on hind's)
- You get a partner alongisde your monstie for increased damage
- You can use items while riding,
- AND* there seems to be no limit to how many of certain items you can use per fight... like... on MHS1 you could only use 1 moxie gem, 1 ancient potion AND 1 vital essence per battle =/

@@RayIII3s2IIIyanIn the original MHS, when you fought him and got him down to low health, he would use a move that would 100% KO you. In order to properly fight him you have to maintain 3 hearts at all times due to that KO move.

This game really took me by surprise! I assumed at first that this was a baby's version of a serious JRPG, but the music is epic and the fights can be pretty tough! I love this game!

Edit: to be honest I did NOT expect fatalis to go full on shin godzilla mode i mean hell, his iceborne super move is vaguely reminiscent of shin Godzilla’s atomic breath so it kinda makes sense

Hey Im not that familiar with this game, but I saw the story’s final boss, Oltura. Is Oltura more powerful or is Fatalis still at the top of the food chain?
@??? pg3d I dont doubt that White, Crimson, and even Sapphire Fatalis are all stronger than Oltura at least in theory, but Im comparing Oltura to Fatalis in this game gameplay-wise, and they both seem about the same difficulty. That’s why I asked.

It seems that that dragon is hard to defeat. You see that it's costing a lot to defeat him.
It shows that it is being somewhat difficult to defeat.
It's pretty obvious that the difficult fight shows the difficulty of the difficult monster. As such the difficulty of this difficult fight is difficult.
That rajang in zone 9 was more difficult to me than fatalis. He just had way more health than rajang.

Since the October update says that the fight would be co op High-Difficulty, I'm guessing it would be Fatalis again but stronger, aside from the inclusion of Metal Raths to the game. Just like we would able to fight Kulve Taroth first, then the harder version of Kulve fight would come alongside with new monsties which are Dreadking Rathalos & Molten Tigrex later down the line.

I use Nergi's SnS + Critical XL Necklace, pretty decent tbh. Defeat it in 25 rounds at lvl 76.
