Underrated Band!! This is one of their best. I remember, it was strange they didn't get more recognition, especially when cheesier bands did. Such powerful vocals! Make you wanna punch a teacher!
Yeah they definitely should have been bigger, but you gotta remember that at the time, the big trend (with metal) was slick, overproduced formula stuff. TKO were just too raw and gritty for mainstream metal tastes, which was exactly what I loved about ‘em.
It really is a standout album from that era. Doesn’t sound like any other metal album from the 80’s. Most of the (metal) albums from that decade sound dated and stereotypical, but In Your Face, even with it’s super-cheesy album cover stands apart from the herd, and it has aged well. Definitely one of the most overlooked and underappreciated metal albums of all time.
You sure this was filmed in ‘84? Brad’s hair and clothes were different by then. I think this may have been a couple of years earlier. I know the album this song’s from didn’t come out until ‘84, but it was recorded in ‘81. This looks more like ‘81 or ‘82. Not saying you’re wrong, but they looked different in ‘84.
@@ericstathis67Since I left that comment, I’ve heard back from the Evan the bassist (who played on this album), and he confirmed that this footage was filmed either 2 or 3 years before the album came out, just as I figured.
I'm actually just learning now that this is the lineup that played on In Your Face which was recorded in 81 but not released until 84 on Combat. The 84 lineup was featured on the back cover but not only was that not the band I THOUGHT I heard, but Adam Brenner ( Bomb ) received no writing credits or one dollar in royalties. Such a great album
Still rocking out to this album 37 years later.🤘🍻Cheers

I'm confused as well. That's definitely not the band on the back of the cover

The bass player gives no f**ks
I love the way he contrasts with the rest of the band. That’s a cool dynamic.
Evan Sheeley from Q5
His name is Evan Sheeley. He was just along for the ride.
