They were on the brink of signing with a major label, they were in talks to open for Rage Against the Machine on tour, and then Tim died in such a tragic and out there way. Carbon monoxide poisoning over the course of several days. Such a tragic end. Guy was a musical genius, and so, so fucking original. Immeasurable loss. To my fellow Brainiac fans, I love y'all. To anyone hearing this incredible band for the first time here or just getting into them, welcome to the club. They were simply unlike ANY other band in America.

Nine inch nails because of the vocals and the electronic sounds on alot of their songs

Gilla Band is perhaps in the neighbourhood? Although I doubt that they're directly influenced by Brainiac.

"Brainiac was a band that, on this particular record, the sound would be something we'd reference, because it sounded very low tech electronic garagey sounding. It has an interesting low tech sound to it that was inspiring. Even thinking about that visually would lead us into certain paths of production ideas."

Well the full albums of both Hissing Prigs and Bonsai Superstar have only 1,500 views.

back in like 1992, you could get most vintage synths for like $50 at the thrift shop. nobody wanted them - all the pros were using DX-7s.
thanks for making Moogs overpriced, Dandy Warhols and Brainiac!
