Great little truck. I have the 1997 Nissan XE with manual transmission that I bought brand new with 33 miles on it. It now has 220,000 miles on it and still runs great. Love this truck.
this is prob the first pre 1997 nissan truck ive seen on this channel with a automatic colum shifter. I don't think i;ve ever seen those before in these types of trucks, very cool.
My '97 XE treated me well, we bought it new & that little truck gave us no problems for its first 13 years. If only all the systems hadn't decided to die out at once, I'd still be driving it. Nevertheless I loved driving that truck.
An Automatic transmission? For all the little girls who couldn't drive a stick. A stick is absolutely necessary with a small non turbo 4 cylinder especially towing through mountains. I don't even know why they bothered making Rangers and Tacoma's with an automatic. I've taught dozens of people to drive a stick and most people pick it up within a day or two.
These Nissan trucks are so reliable. We had two of them, one finally let go after 300k of hard work, one we got now has 150k, still running strong. They are little peppy trucks to, have smoked a lot of cars and trucks in it to. I just love my Nissan's, they keep on going and going, need nothing but an oil change.
lol - he called the ash tray "storage". FYI: These trucks did not come with power mirrors. That would have been an upgrade from a previous owner who would have pulled the parts out of a similar year Nissan Pathfinder. A lot of the parts are direct swaps.
My Uncle Has A Pine Green 92 Pickup It's In Really Rough Shape But Runs Good 4 Cylinder Engine Automatic Comes With Manual Windows Gages Work But Speedometer Does Not Work In Interior Is Filled With Tools And Works Stuff We Had In August 2021 When The Battery Didn't Work Anymore And Replaced A New One The Starter Was Burn And Replaced A New Starter Great Rusty Truck:)
got a 95 nissan xe 4cly 5 speed 204k miles. 3rd clutch, second starter. 4th set of plugs, original timing CHAIN (no slapping/slop). These are bulletproof.
I own this exact model. Same color as well. Mine has 85000 original miles. Auto, pwr. steering & brakes. Pwr. mirrors. Power winds. only available on the crew cab model. I swapped bench seat for buckets & console.
always liked these little nissan trucks and damn this one is a in amazing shape wish it was still available I'd snag it up in a heartbeat but considering this was posted in 2011 I really doubt it
3 points: 1: kinda agree but as long as its a nice truck i dont care if its standard or automatic, at least personally, 2: 5 speed doesent mean its not automatic there are lots of 5 speed autos out there, 3:mainly, these 4 cylinder trucks need more cylinders more than anything. they are pointless they can be harder on gas than v6 small trucks cause the engine is too small and working too hard. i prefer full sizers, anyway....and their smaller v8s are usually not much harder on gas than the v6s..
I just bought one exactly same model, now just looking for a few parts that need to be replaced, I’m having a hard time finding the steering column cover for automatic. If yall have any suggestions of where I would find this part let me know

My dad had one when I was a child that was 23 years ago and it still runs today!

these older nissans will go FOREVER!!!! you cant kill these things!

Ashtray, not storage. This was the 90's when smoking was still socially acceptable.
Stephen Browne and thanks to the media, which has ruined smoking. Same as smelling smog air
@@TacoCat8891 yeah
Love this truck!

I miss my nissan pickup when i was younger.
I had one. It was so much fun to drive. If only I could find a lower mileage engine for it... I miss it a lot :(

@3bomberr I think they called it by the chassis code in Japan (D21). It's also commonly referred to as the hardbody.
These trucks just rot out in Canada, it's in amazing shape :(

I have two of these. I bought another recently because I have 515,000 miles on my original one and I'm afraid the transmission might be going.
Still have it?

@xxnissansilviaxx not a Frontier. These trucks were simply known as Nissan Pickups or Nissan Hardbody Pickup. The Frontier didn't show up until 1997.
this truck probably carried 50% of the mexican population
thats nice little truck
Looks to be in good shape

What a die-hard little truck!
Jus bought one like this for my first truck
@msia40004 Fuel injected. It's 1995 ;)
How it has an AUTOMATIC!!!
my dad had a 1993 with the 5 speed manual, it was silver
nice pickup truck.
Too bad they didn’t keep offering that bench seating in 2003
Because then we would have had it up to 2019! Imagine

this car is based on Nissan Terrano, which is considered as a car for "the haves"
those models are very common where i live
I used to have a white one of theses, I barely remember it lol
i'd like to have this truck as a beater, only thing i hate about it is that its an auto, these 4 cylinder trucks need the 5 speed.
@talldude123 the newer ones are back in the early 90s it was just pickup truck toyotas too
Was that a timing chain rattle right after it started up?
Question: What are those headrests covered with? Leather? Vynil? Rubber?

I miss my 97 frontier. :(
Ricardo Mendez 97 frontier???? You mean 98 frontier! Cuz the frontier came out at 98 and up
@JjAaCcOo100 yes, its a 1998-2005 VW Jetta
Looking at a 92 for 1500 online. Might pick one up after reading reviews online.

Id still rather get the vg 30e . But these engines last just as long , maybe longer.
