    Oh no no no sir! This really won’t do for me. I stand at 5’5 inches and my beautiful, statuesque wife stands at 5’11. I like my eye level exactly where it is.

    A woman here, 71 yo. I was 5'0" tall from the age of 12 (the tallest of at least 3 generations of women on my mother's side; a great aunt was 4'9"), and recently at the doctor's office was measured at 4'11". I recently became interested in clothes styles and how they were influenced by the events of a particular era. In the 1910's, my stature and figure were considered the womanly ideal. Think Gloria Swanson in the silent movies. Reports of her height range from 4'8" to 5'1". In that context, it is funny that in the 1950 movie "Sunset Boulevard" she is famous for saying "I am big, it's the pictures that got small". Anyway, I am writing this just to say that there are times when I walk down the street and have the illusion that I am looking down from a great height--and this is when I have accomplished something difficult and feel like a million bucks for it. Perhaps a man can feel the same.

    With his knack for creating images of warmth & drama, could there be a better subject for Sir Ash than height elevation? Seemingly, he's never one to turn down a challenge especially when it allows him to dip back into old passions & interests. Best wishes!

    I have a pair of Harold western boots with a 1.5 inch western heel and it makes me feel good when wearing them just because it enhances my height. I’m actually 5 feet 10 inches. I’m getting a pair of these boots that’s for sure!!

    I'm 5' 9" and 185 lbs I like my size and wouldn't change it because it's good for wrestling compared to being tall and thin, also normal heels on boots and dress shoes are already more than enough of a height boost for me.
    The other concern is if you meet a lady and then take off your shoes indoors you instantly lose 7 cm which could be awkward.

      You play with fire on that front when adding height in this manner - it could be seen as a deception.

    I am tall enough at 5'10". But a do have a pair of "high heel" boots that I wear from time to time. I would love to see the faces of friends seeing you having to lift their heads suddenly. That would maybe diminish their confidence.

      I'm 5'11 (180cm) and I love elevator shoes. My height is really average, but it simply feels good being a bit taller than other people. I usually wear 6cm to 8cm lifts and it actually adds around 5-6cm in total (just like heels, it isn't as much as it claims to be). Never had any comment (only from one girl who's my height, but even her comment was just like a side note about me being taller than she thought).

    I found this one a little humorous, being well over 6 feet I sometimes curse movie theater seating or little cars, wishing I was shorter. But height is very important in a lot of business dealings.
    Also if your short and a little heavy do not wear horizontal striped shirts. Always wear vertical clothes.
    And finally if your a little short don’t come off with “little man syndrome” be proud and stout.

    I used to work with someone who, I kid you not, had the stature and resemblance to KnickKnack in James Bond. He used this to his full advantage and totally milked it. In one company wide presentation he added a slide from Man with the Golden Gun, self declaring himself to be the Bond henchman. He did indeed dress and act like KnickKnack, bar trying to assasinate people in board meetings (well one or two maybe). He was one of the brightest and highly paid at the company. It is rumoured he had a string of successful assignations off the bat of this too. Short, sharp dressed and clever was his persona. Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction. Also, resisted adding even one juvanile innuendo about his Golden Gun. Oh wait, dammit I just have!

    Ash, in your testing did you feel that it affected your trouser length ? I would have thought that if you add 3” to your height, your trousers will be affected. Any comments?

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  2 роки тому

      Not at all, as all the additional height is cleverly hidden in the boot, there is no difference to the trouser at all. It's quite well concealed.

    Ash, little off topic but not I would like to get a pair of Chelsea boots but I have heard that it is difficult to find some that fit without trying them on first. Have you found this to be true? cheers Ron

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  2 роки тому

      Hi Ron, Chelsea boots are held in place by friction caused by the elasticated ankle, so a good fit is required to ensure a sound grip. I would always endeavour to try on chelsea boots and loafers (which also require a good friction fit) prior to purchase if possible.
      Hope that assists - Ash

    Hi Ash, as usual I’ve watched your new post with interest, but unfortunately this one was a low mark….sorry to say. My personal opinion is that your height should sit in your head and not in a pair of clown shoes. Please continue to use you very nice ordinary boots. The self confidence is always a mind related issue…….Regards from Sweden
