I play Reptile who is considered low tier, but I believe he is probably mid tier. And I use Scorpion and Motaro with him. My reasons for using them, they are fun. Kenshi maybe high tier, but it takes skill to use him well, especially with Sento. My strategy for dealing with Baraka and Stryker is take the grenade hit to get a D2. Take a little damage to deal more.

PERSONALLY, I wish there was old school mode. No kameo’s, no fatal blows, just one on one kombat. That way people could learn characters better and not spam kameo’s that chip away health. or edge out wins by spazzing and getting fatal blows as a last resort. 🤷🏽♂️
remember when pressuring someone on block was a mix of run canceling, mix ups and baiting your opponent. now its just devolved into your best chip move on block with kameo coverage for plus frames, takes absolutely no skill and has the most boring counterplay. I miss mk9 and X

As someone who has played MK9-MK1, Kenshi is one of the hardest characters i've ever played, no matter how much time i spend in practice, I cannot seem to get his combos down, in the 4 months i've had the game, i have managed to master only 1 of Kenshi's Sento combos
I'm a baraka main and I had to ditch stryker as a kameo cuz it made me play so stupid. I'd be throwing out unsafe moves forgetting I don't have stryker charged up. Darrius gives me nice setups and forces me to play smart
Mortal Kombat players are people who want instant satisfaction with themselves and suffer with malnourished self esteem issues. For them its never abour creativity or fun. Its about the sense of importance. Having said that, they pick the most broken, most braindead, and the most advantageous characters and then proceed to implement the exact same strategy that the last two players just did which require little effort. When you beat them, especially with an unorthodox team or strategy that isnt meta, it hits them hard in the pride. And they want to find any way they can to convince themselves that theyre still "good" and that youre trash.
His name is fitting, Baraka i can still say that a player with knowledge on how to block him can make him suffer at least, but this is not the case for many players, Baraka Stryker is truly a braindead duo that can be easy, unless the player knows how to punish his stupid shit, still, Stryker must be nerfed in some way or reworked, even myself is not having fun by making stuff safe all the time.
Even though Kenshi is bullshit strong, you actually need to know how to play him unlike most of the top tier character like Johnny that can spam one mixup the whole game and win

I think Kenshi might actually be the only character that warrants some complaints no matter what you play. Other than the stormcell strats maybe. He does overcompensate a lot for the player at a ranked level assuming they are Kenshi only.

@@shenles It probably is bias to say it plainly. I think at this point it’s been well-documented that at a ranked level objectively Kenshi is pretty dominant. FoxyGrampa has some videos detailing the issues around him if you’d like it explained better than a quick comment. Luckily though I also believe it’s ONLY at the ranked level any actually competitive players have enough fluidity in their play to workaround it. I don’t have a particular main but play a set of characters and he’s the only character that the same strategies seem to work universally against me. I’m playing in Elder God on Xbox so my experience may be very different from a PS, or PC God-Elder God player.
Normally I’d agree that baraka-Stryker is a carry like raiden-Kano but you’re playing Kenshi, you quite literally have no room to talk with his pressure and chip damage

@@shenles yeah man, I feel you. It was more manageable, and essentially on MK11 if people kept getting hit by that was mostly because they couldn’t adapt. But since you mentioned MK11, this could also be avoided by flawless blocking your attack… in this new game, you can flawless block a poke but they would still able to cancel into anything, I believe that’s not very rewarding for the player defending.

Raiden is the most braindead character in this game. Unlike Baraka, Raiden has a very broken chip damage and a very disgusting pressure, someone who only abuses the same ability can won you with only that. I hope NRS give Raiden a harder Nerf because that character does is steal matches, no skill is required to use Raiden when all you do all the time is abuse the Storm Cell + Kano.
Baraka/Cyrax main here (Yeah, yeah whine to me), and I've honestly had to think more since they both got nerfed down (I learned that 60% of Baraka's startup hits are high.... like, why NRS?). And I still think Baraka/Stryker is more braindead, like Liu Kang/Kung Lao and Sindel/Kung Lao level braindead, and those players are mostly zoners.

Out of all the fighters I’ve played. Mk has the biggest sore losers I’ve ever encountered. Match could so close but in the end they’ll talk shit win or lose. Worse part is that it is the same thing being said over and over again regardless of outcome. I love mk but hate the online community.

I think this time I will agree with this person even though he cries/complains/plays potato strategy. But here is the thing: noone can formulate their complainings correctly. Let me try to do it: this is not about BEING CARRYING by some strategy, because there is simply no such thing.
No. The word is Struggle. Yes, you ARE struggling against Kenshi and this is what makes them toxic. Raiden/Baraka - Stryker/Kano might be braindead and annoying but you do not struggle against them. You just don't feel it in a way when you face Kenshi

I think Kenshi might actually be the only character that warrants some complaints no matter what you play. Other than the stormcell strats maybe. He does overcompensate a lot for the player at a ranked level assuming they are Kenshi only.

@@shenles It probably is bias to say it plainly. I think at this point it’s been well-documented that at a ranked level objectively Kenshi is pretty dominant. FoxyGrampa has some videos detailing the issues around him if you’d like it explained better than a quick comment. Luckily though I also believe it’s ONLY at the ranked level any actually competitive players have enough fluidity in their play to workaround it. I don’t have a particular main but play a set of characters and he’s the only character that the same strategies seem to work universally against me. I’m playing in Elder God on Xbox so my experience may be very different from a PS, or PC God-Elder God player.
Normally I’d agree that baraka-Stryker is a carry like raiden-Kano but you’re playing Kenshi, you quite literally have no room to talk with his pressure and chip damage

I never played with this team, and I already know that it’s super cheesy… just by encountering it multiple times. I truly hate this gameplay of d1+special and being safe… anything into special! You essentially have to guess about almost anything that they do just because u fear being clipped by a special
its funny cuz this is how I played mk11, but it was actually an ass strategy and unsafe
in mk1 its the meta because kameos will cover you
@@shenles yeah man, I feel you. It was more manageable, and essentially on MK11 if people kept getting hit by that was mostly because they couldn’t adapt.
But since you mentioned MK11, this could also be avoided by flawless blocking your attack… in this new game, you can flawless block a poke but they would still able to cancel into anything, I believe that’s not very rewarding for the player defending.

Raiden is the most braindead character in this game. Unlike Baraka, Raiden has a very broken chip damage and a very disgusting pressure, someone who only abuses the same ability can won you with only that. I hope NRS give Raiden a harder Nerf because that character does is steal matches, no skill is required to use Raiden when all you do all the time is abuse the Storm Cell + Kano.
i honestly put baraka and raiden in the same category of playstyle (chip pressure) but yeah raiden is stronger especially with the cyrax nerf
Baraka/Cyrax main here (Yeah, yeah whine to me), and I've honestly had to think more since they both got nerfed down (I learned that 60% of Baraka's startup hits are high.... like, why NRS?). And I still think Baraka/Stryker is more braindead, like Liu Kang/Kung Lao and Sindel/Kung Lao level braindead, and those players are mostly zoners.

Look, Cyrax was bs back then, I admit (especially with Raiden/characters that keep you in place), but Stryker is becoming more common upon Baraka players (which is because he's only got like 3 good kameo options imo).
And.... YES! Finally! Someone else acknowledges how bs Kameo Lao's hat speed is. It's like they got everyone else a decent balance patch, and then they gave Kameo Lao just a slap on the wrist, like "Yeah, that's cool", even though he was just as annoying as Cyrax was back when the game first came out.
