Yes the last journal entry was written right before Calamity Ganon's unexpected return.

The king had a 100 years of waiting. So taking what he realizes about putting too much pressure on Zelda while he was alive. So when Link woke from his 100 years sleep the King actually allowed Link to go at his own pace a checking out the Tower and the shrines and exploring the Great Plateau and only once Link is ready, would he reveal his true identity as the king

I lost my father too. He was waiting for me to come back for fall break from college when I saw him in the hospital he was unconscious and a priest was there saying he would soon be gone. I don’t know if he heard me or not but I promised to keep making him proud and happy. He’s still here, I remember him and see him in my dreams. And in every single diary I kept I drew pictures of my memories of him.

I had a feeling that King Rhoam was acting the way he was because he felt it was specifically necessary. That he felt that because of the stakes, and even if he understood Zelda's pain and even if he just wanted to console her, that he needed to be "The Bad Guy" and push her to unlock her power as soon as possible.

    • @derrickdaniels3955

Because he tried to force it. Getting the Triforce of Wisdom to manifest within Zelda through demanding she complete her training, doesn't work like that. Training wasn't going to unlock shite, Zelda needed something more real in her life to unleash her power that training won't accomplish alone. He let stressful events blind him to realize that she needed to be in the spur of the moment that will allow her to act, an experience that pushes her out of her introvertness and into action, putting herself on the line to protect people she cares about.

King Rhoam is a king. But in a way the reason he pushed Zelda to me is equal to keeping her alive. If Hyrule falls, that it only means that she died. It is only when she died that Hyrule truly fall. He wanted to coddle her but he couldn't. If you notice his grave watches Hyrule Castle. He worries for her even in death. A parent's love can be complicated. Some parents will accept being hated by their children as long as their child will live and find happiness even if that happiness is far from with them. This is Rhoam's sacrifice. Her love for her life.

I've never seen anyone point this out, but, interestingly, the King calls the royal family’s tradition of naming the daughters Zelda a “frivolous musing” but he does it to “build his royal memorandum.” It almost sounds like he married into the royal family and Zelda’s mother was sovereign instead of the other way around.

    • @jensennguyen02
      @jensennguyen02 Рік тому +11

I mean that makes sense because Zelda's mother also had the sealing powers as per the bloodline tradition. He definitely married into the family though there is little to say if Zelda's mom was the sovereign at the time or got married when she was a princess herself

It was also smart of you guys to pair the journal entries with the cinematic scenes from the game. It makes them more integrated with the story, especially with when exactly the events of these entries transpired. And of course the thoughts both Zelda and King Rhoam had during these events. Excellent job to all of you 👏 👍.

Except that neither Link, Zelda nor Rhoam ever show signs of knowing Astor as "the Fortuneteller" despite of the prophecy having arrived *years in advance* prior to Ganondorf's return as Calamity Ganon. Since none of the characters in Age of Calamity ever seem to even know who he is that only points to Astor and the Fortuneteller not been the same individual.
PS: Age of Calamity is *non canonical* it's been prooven already based on contradictory information found in both Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity.

    • @javiervasquez8995

@@sadi19 It hasn't been confirmed that it is. Neither Aonuma, nor Fujibayashi, nor Hayashi or anyone at Nintendo or Koei Tecmo have said anything confirming this game to of canonical revelance to the rest of the Zelda timeline. Despite many people arrogantly parroting that Aonuma did in fact say the game is canon when he talked about "working closely" with Koei Tecmo in order to help them maintain the same feel and atmosphere present in Breath of the Wild there's literally no quote, interview or article where he does indeed use the words *canon* to refer to the events depicted in this game. There are literally NO SOURCES ANYHWERE IN THE INTERNET were he says "Age of Calamity is canon" and so that really raises the questions: ¿Why call it canon when the story makes NO SENSE AT ALL and the head developer who worked clolesly on both the original game and the over the top fanfiction spin-off game hasn't confirmed anything when it comes to the game's canonicity? That to me and many people in the fandom serves as absolute evidence that the game wasn't made by Koei Tecmo for the sake of it fitting the Lore of the Zelda franchise with it's wacky, implausible, Lore breaking timetravel premise but rather just be it's own thing with a completley made up narrative fitting of a Dynasty Warriors Musou type of story(hence the incoherent over the top Deus Ex Machina appereance of the future Champions and the *plothole* that is their random arrival to the past just so that they could save the Universe).
Now with all this said and knowing there's literally no quote from the likes of Aonuma or anyone at Nintendo and Koei Tecmo that does aknowledge the game as canon there is actually an interview with Aonuma made by IGN which does in fact point to the direction of Age of Calamity been just another non canonical spin-off game ala Hyrule Warriors 1 which backs my possition:
I do think circumstances *could* align like this again," explained Eiji Aonuma, *"but I don't think we're expecting this to become a series".*
      www.ign.com/articles/nintendo-not-expecting-hyrule-warriors-to-become-its-own-series-after-age-of-calamity
How funny that this been supposedly a canon Zelda story they won't EVER make another follow up sequel within this "alternate timeline". Since Nintendo has no plans of ever continuing the Age of Fanfiction timeline that to me and many fans serves as indisputable proof that the game has no bearing nor relevance to the canon Zelda timeline whatsoever.
In summary taking into account the fact there are no words from either the head developer himself or anybody else involved in the game's development confirming anything regarding this game's canonicity, considering that the game's narrative makes no sense at all with the Lore and Mythology found in Breath of the Wild and knowing that Nintendo has no plans of ever continuing the over the top story of Age of Calamity there's only one simple conclusion that any rational and Zelda Lore aware person can make: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is *NON CANON.*

Link's father was probably in good relationship with the Royal Family due to his own skills as a swordman and as a knight and may in fact have had a very strong friendship with King Rhoam given the relationship between previous incarnations of Link and Zelda's family(King Daltus and Grandpa Smith from Minish Cap were really good friends when they were young). Considering that in his concept art Link's father looks very much like a strong and commited blacksmith it's safe to assume he probably shared just as much the same enduring loyalty towards his King and Kingdom as he did when he was a young man.
