Location: Navigation Way, Preston
Date Filmed: 29-10-2016

Trains:
BR Class 14 D9539/1965 + Hawthorn Leslie 3931/1938 ‘Linda’ (Ribble Steam Railway)
A video of the two level crossings at Preston docks, found on the Ribble Steam Railway. One of these level crossings runs along the road, over the Preston docks swing bridge. The swing bridge occasionally opens for vessels coming in and out of the marina. There's a pedestrian level crossing beside the swing bridge, allowing pedestrians to cross the line. All the equipment seems rather old. It is very interesting to look at and quite awesome seeing a steam train travelling over the bridge. Something very unique and rare in the UK.
Thanks For Watching!
wow nice 1 i have lived in Preston all my life and only seen the train 20 times in about 37 years I see the bridge open a lot brilliant video pal
Thanks! 😎 Yeah it was really cool seeing a train go over the bridge
The Pedestrian Level Crossing Has my favorite alarm from Mitre bridge level crossing, broken alarm on that side
These exact same barriers (Tully) are used at Keady Swing Bridge in Lincoln. Me and Zach went there recently
Ah cool 👍
I love that diesels horn!
Yes! I was hoping these would be filmed at some point. You should have gone down the road to the AOCL too!
I was guessing you wanted these recorded. I was short for time unfortunately so I didn't manage to visit the AOCL. I do have a shot from my car of the crossing at Strand Road.
I can hear Lockside road alarms
the end of the train is kind of creepy
One of the foot sounders broke
Yeah it is. Needs replacing.
That sounds like Wallingford!
Interesting content, greetings from across the Atlantic
Thank you. Glad you like my content :)
UK Level Crossings Channel no problem, I always like to see how your railway looks like
Cool 😎 Good video 📹 and good catch
Thank you 🙂
That magpie though!
3:08 oh god, wasn't expecting that!(there's a face on the train)
Yes, it was the Halloween weekend so spooky trains were running lol
I noticed the alarms at Maritime Way are loud enough to be heard from this side.
freebrickprovductions roipr
Sounds like my alarm
@@laurychristiaens795 it goes BEEDOOBEEDOO
Is the pedestrian level crossing Signal a old signal from a pedestrian crossing at traffic lights 🚥.
Yes it is
Nobody:
Isn’t this just a safer tram line?
0:12 does this crossing have any alarms?
Do you have any video of the bridge raising?
It doesn't have alarms as pedestrians aren't supposed to use it
@@AutoUnder it has alarms and bells; only used for bridge closures.
@@tube1983official bell replaced
has no sounds on that level crossing
As someone who sees this line quite alot I believe it could be at the end of its time as it’s barely used anymore, when passenger trains come though it’s the most it’s ever used, other than that there is the odd freight train now and again
Well I know it's used by the Ribble Steam Railway, but they don't run trains very frequently
UK Level Crossings Channel yeah, in my 14 years of life I’ve only ever seen those crossings go off once for a freight train
UK Level Crossings Channel also I don’t know if you knew this but if you go down the line towards the station there is an open level crossing (to the right of where the video was recorded)
Yeah, I know about that one, Lockside Road I believe it's called. Unfortunately, I didn't film it when I filmed the crossing on the swing bridge.
Nice
I’m going here now.
where do you get these rare level crossings
Zhifeng Luo Sometimes I just know where the rare ones are and other times people tell me where there's rare crossings like these.
ok
UK Level Crossings where is this one is it in England or America
@@ennardsisterlegocation2946 England-land
Is the line still used?
Yeah it is. It's on the Ribble Steam Railway
Ye, saw a train a few months ago.
No alarms a road crossing?
There are alarms where there's a pedestrian pathway over the railway, shown in the video with the pedestrian lights. The swing bridge has alarms but they're only used when the swing bridge is operating. At this large crossing, the pathways are seperate from the road.
👍
3 /4 times a day at weekends in season if you catch it right
👍
At first I thought that the exit side barrier had failed
Max Ganesh This thing has a long timer since the railway runs over a bridge.
UK Level Crossings oh ok
Jack Ryding story 1965
Why do the gate lights flash so much?
It was the camera. It doesn't like small LED module lights too much. Although they're flashing on the video, they aren't actually flashing in real life.
UK Level Crossings OK
George Munks Fire alarms and trainspotting its the camera refresh rate.
spinaway ok
His camera refresh rate. It’s like filming a CRT TV

LastGenGaming Lol. I wouldn't even be allowed to use my phone, let alone record a level crossing.
