- The Bengals and Pats kickoff the 2010 season with new faces on offense, as new free agent Terrell Owens makes his debut for Cincy, and rookie Rob Gronkowski makes his debut for New England, in a fun one in Foxboro.
tampa don't seem to realize that there are truly only 4 receiver routes that Brady likes: Quick Outs, Quick Slant, Hitches, and Comeback. All his receivers here run the routes he likes. Moss, Gronk, and Welker were so good at running these routes at a high level.
And Tampa doesnt have an O-line that is able to stop a highschool defense rushing the passer 🤣🤣🤣
2007 to early 2010 patriots offense (before Moss left) was short passes to Welker and then set up the home run ball down the field to Moss

@@Hybridswimmer It was really the other way around. 2007 route combinations focused on Randy Moss and Brady would basically force him the football any time he was 1 on 1. When coverage rolled his way, 1 of Welker or Faulk were always isolated. Watching many of Welkers biggest plays/TDs and you will see Moss on clear-out routes moving the defense out of Welker's way. Moss of 2010 had much more average burst which made defending him a bit easier and forced the offense to change.

First play of the game, McCourty lined up across from a top 5 (3?) WR over the previous decade. They immediately go at him with a go route, and he shuts it down.

So weird seeing Randy Moss and Gronk on the same offense. I forgot Randy was there for the first part of the season when Gronk was a rookie.

This is kinda late but I found an article from 2010 stating that Belichick was thinking ahead of the curve. The NFL makes teams submit their preference in the spring. Belichick was planning for a HOT September day and hoped the Bengals would burn up in their black jerseys. This game turned out to be mid 60s but still funny that he thought that far ahead and with that much detail.

WoW ocho & T.O. vs Moss/Gronk/Welker/Hernandez/Faulk! No competition Moss by himself even in his decline was 2 of T.O & OCHO LOL! Hernandez was Travis Kelce x 10 easily & that was before this 2 hand tag hogwash they play in todays so called game! As Phil Sims states at 25:00 minute mark "I said it many times before hitting people is a good good thing in this league" man that was such an underrated statement for its time so non existent 14/15 years later in today's game! NFL should be ashamed of how downhill=joke this once great product has became! Goodell has ran this once great league down the drain! Everyone enjoy Glorified 2 Hand Tag Football! Before long they will have flags on their waste sides! No defense & to me defense was the most entertaining of all of football PERIOD....
