      Simp Slack Man the way he did it in realtime but hit by hit like step recording, all based on feel, was crazy

    • @SoundsAndGear
      @SoundsAndGear 10 років тому +3

      r4ar Product I was referring to how he laid each part of the loop step by step but still in real time, instead of just letting it loop and put the stuff in, he did it one pad/chop at a time, sorta like step recording.

      SoundsAndGear.com he seems to prefer not chopping single hits for drums, dont think i've seen him do it yet, well aside from hats maybe.

    Listen, I don't care who you are......if you say Kev Brown is sack you are an idiot! Dude is unreal with the MPC. Unlike a bunch of half ass Hip Hop fans, I had the opportunity to rock with him performing. I watched dude make a beat on the spot in 5 minutes that was absolutely outrageous. When he was done he said all the emcees that rocked tonight I want y'all to go over this beat. Myself, my brother Fel Sweetenberg, Hasaan Mackey, Ken Starr all killed the beat. Kev Brown is without a doubt the baseline king going neck and neck with Nottz........do your homework before you disrespect one of he last preservers of The Lost Art.......

    Did he run the piano through the sp-505 to get that tone to it?

    • @jjbing3
      @jjbing3 9 років тому +1

      Thought it was a guitar and probably so. He usually does to make it "gwimy son!!"

    • @dotConcept
      @dotConcept 8 років тому

      +coldaziceee Pretty sure he ran it through a 404.

    • @jjbing3
      @jjbing3 8 років тому

      +ethvnol he has the 505 too!

    • @dotConcept
      @dotConcept 8 років тому

      jjbing3 Sounds like a 303, or a 202 to me though, as far as I know, he owns a 303 too. 404 doesn't sound as dusty. 202 has the craziest effects. Need to get a power supply to it so I can use it with my 404 again.

    • @lex.cordis
      @lex.cordis 8 років тому

      My guess is the 505 just because on his bandcamp page he has a couple "albums" of him explaining how he made some beats and on vol 2 when he's going over "Say Somethin" he explains how he used the 505 to give the samples that super grittiness to them. I highly recommend checking it out. I think you guys will find it interesting. IT's called Kev Brown commentary on his bandcamp.

    you have a poster of yourself? wait, 2 posters of yourself? wuut? was this supposed to be an instructional video? you really didnt show anybody anything new. or did i miss it? not a whole lot goin on hur... wait are you famous for jackin other peoples music and sounding like youre drunk on the drums? yawn that hasnt been done a million times already.

    • @OverlorBeats

      Hmm, Kev Brown is respected and has worked with Busta Rhymes, Freddie Foxx, Diamond D., Jazzy Jeff, De La Soul and Phonte just to name a few ... granted if you are not a true Hip hop head or Purist I get it, and I understand your response but if you make beats and work with the MPC I can't see how this wasn't inspiring ... again that is just me. It was a promotional and instructional video displaying how you can flip royalty fee samples and it was actually done for MSXII who have excellent products by the way. Comments like this are almost always made by folk who don't post videos showing what they have to offer when it comes to beat making. Respect the craft make a video and contribute to those trying to learn if you have something better to offer than a negative comment that would be greatly appreciated. Not being disrespectful but it is something to think about!!!
