Homes, Wicked! To your boy that turned you- and subsequently- us - onto this! The buckles of my USMC chest rig fit/mesh with the issue Source 3L holder/pack, but it has no storage at all. I'm working right now on adding buckles to my issue Camelbak Mule pack. I'm sure this is gonna work- given the bagful of repair buckles + straps that come w/ the chest rig. The Camelbak already has nice shoulder straps, padding, etc. Also just the right amount of storage for this kind of role. Rock on!
Dude, yeah! Snipped off the original buckles + just slipped the repair buckles on. Now it works either way- stand alone pack, or kick-ass TAP rig with hydration + storage.
Cool kit, but all that shit on your chest gonna make it hard to get low when prone. A battle belt to take some of the pouches and accessories might be a good idea.
It’s not too bad especially if your camelback is half full and If it gets in the way you’ve still got your old harness you can store in the camelback , but I’ve never brought my assault pack on a recon
What kind of sewing machine are you using? My wife has a no thrills Walmart machine and she said it wouldn’t be heavy duty enough to go through nylon or codura. I’m considering getting a new one to play with making my own kit
Hell yea!!!
Yes sir
I just got tired of all the straps and layers.
Nice to see other people throwing out what they figured out what works for them, will save somebody out there alot of time, good job my man!
Thanks 👍

Have you tried this with any success?

This is a very good idea, why didn’t I think of it…. Will look at this going forward….

This is awesome.
Show some camo. Your surrounding looks like it's perfect for M81 Woodland.
I’ve worn a few different camouflage on the channel. My favorite is multicam tropical.
TAPS GANG 🤙
TAPs is awesome
I can clip it to my camel back, my bug out bag and stand alone
100% agree
Fuckin A!!!🫡🇺🇸

I try to stick with issues gear because most schools don’t allow unissued gear
Could do the same with a MAP, or one day pack. And most of those have the buckles already.
Good idea
Can has been approved April 26 - August 16. Flow 762
Great news first can?
@@Ammotax yep flow 762, not sure what platform I want to suppress next
Welcome to the club! Skys the limit
Where did you get the pads for your straps
HSGI was/Wee Shoulder Pads (Multicam)
Im curious how this works with a pack. Most people are running chest rigs for reeec and the reason they do that is because they run a pack with them.

Die Condor MCR 7 da zähle ich mal es nicht auf. Aber alles mit Hydor Harness.
Question. Does the water get really warm with a backpack on too?
Over a couple hours... Yes
Yes but usually, the water is already warm

Mines a brother
MODEL SM2700
Just make sure you use a heavier needle and heavy thread.
Why not just use G hooks
Becausssssse… I didn’t think of that 😂
30 seconds in and I can tell you this is stupid. Unless you have a legitimate need to carry 3 liters of water on your kit. Get a real harness instead.
You should probably stay on the flat range then
@@Ammotax clearly you've never carried gear before.
