I pre-ordered the machine and was hesitant to really go down that road. At one point, I even tried to cancel the pre-order but the free filament had already shipped and the machine was shipped soon thereafter. And honestly, Im glad I got it. I havent really had any of the issues that others have had. Mine extrudes fine (Im on the V1 extruder, theyre up to V4 now but its mostly minor tweaks), it prints reliably and fast and I just love the overall workflow. Being able to "one-click print" from the Creality Print software has been great and I rarely have any issues with my prints. I've done the usual things and upgraded some parts, as one does with a 3D printer.. I've printed vented lid risers, taken the bowden tube out of the chain to make the filament path less constrained, I've manually trammed the bed from underneath the printer to the best of my ability and I have also printed some simple blocks to make belt tension adjustment easier. I'm currently designing and about to put some vent adapters and such online so people can hook up a simple 100mm/4" vent duct to the side fan exhaust for safer ABS and ASA printing. It really has done wonders for my prototyping of various stuff. 3D printing can only get a lot better from here on out!
The spam and incessant notifications in the cloud app are a huge red flag...the Internet of Things has enough concerns in it that we don't need to include built-in spam advertisements. Remember, folks, the "S" in "IoT" stands for "security." The brazen license violations are also pretty upsetting, as is the way that Creality rolled out review units - it mostly seems like they cleaned up flaws and are now getting machines into the hands of good reviewers, but the first few (including Nathan Builds Robots' video) could readily have been mistaken for advertisements rather than independent reviews. That being said: with some work, this does appear to be a viable alternative to the Bambu Lab family of printers. Even with the pants-dropping new price of the P1P, the K1 and K1 Max seem aimed more at the X1 Carbon than the P1P in terms of features and design. I actually really appreciate that Creality seems to have entirely avoided the multi-material add-ons - the unbelievable waste and increased chance for print failures and printer damage with the AMS, poop chute, and associated parts on the Bambu machines is something I see as a drawback, not a benefit, from that design. The fundamental design concept is still "you get 85% of the experience of a premium printer at roughly half the price" as it was with the Ender 3 competing against the Prusa Mk3. That was a hugely successful business plan several years ago and may very well still be a good idea.
At MRRF, Creality had a large sign at their booth that said "The power of modifying". Modifying Creality printers seems to be the norm so them being okay with hacks to the firmware makes sense.
I'm staying away from Creality, I've had many Ender printers and the quality isn't there. I've had no problems with my Bambu Lab printers so far, I'll stick with what works.
Buyer beware on these. The build quality seems to vary quite a lot from unit to unit. Mine has been broken for over 3 weeks with different issues. Creality support does eventually come through and send parts, but of the 2 months I've had the printer, it essentially has spent half of the time broken.
@@LilApe When I bought my mk3s when it was new, Prusa took about 3 weeks of back and forth of me essentially telling them that a rod had a huge gash in it and to send a new one. They wanted pictures and videos and asked the same questions 3 or 4 times over again each time a new person showed up in support. After they sent the part, it arrived in about a week, but their support is a joke. Remember too, the mk3s was a $1000 printer at this point, these are half that. So yea, I don't think it's just China.
Lets hope Creality does not drop support like 3 month after launch. One thing they kinda did with all the Ender 3 variants out there. Also the software support with providing a simple walkthrough to use open Klipper software would be a huge milestone for Creality in the direction of the community! Now I'll just wait for the first long term experiences with this printer that include maintenance and repairability. And the second thing that seems not to be right for my case: *can this thing also print slow and quiet, or not?!* Because after all I want to use it in my apartment. The enclosed and much more stylish appearance seems just to fit well. But it seems to me all those "fast Klipper printers" like the K1, Vorons and Bambu Lab are just very noisy machines ... which is fine when you need speed. But a "slow and quiet" mode would also be fine, wouldn't it?
No. I have a CREALITY Neo Max. Support is TERRIBLE , performance weak, consistency is terrible, reliability is mediocre. I'll never buy a CREALITY again.
1 correction: BambuLab actually reduced the prices of the P1P to $599 a couple of weeks ago. And the camera+led combo now comes built in (as opposed to you having to install them yourself). So P1P with a camera is now slightly cheaper than the K1.
No, the P1P is still about $250 more expensive, why does everyone forget that the P1P doesn't have an encluser!? If you only use the printer for a little hobby stuff, you still want to be able to print most materials, if you have it for a business and know that you will only print in Pla, then of course encluser is not as important.
@@dejedejsson I would say the other way around. If you only print little hobby stuff - you're fine with an open printer that can only print PLA/PTU/etc. If you need a professional printer, that can print PETG/Nylon/etc. - get an enclosed printer. In any case - with the amount of issues mentioned both in the review, and in the user comments, I would say a Bambu or Prusa would be the safer option, you can rely on to get a perfect print every time. The K1 looks like a machine that would require a lot of tinkering to get it to work.
You are of course completely wrong, as a hobbyist you don't know from time to time what to print and what files you will find to print. Why buy a P1P when it doesn't have an encluser, you might as well buy one of these new fast budget printers and buy an encluser for $60, I don't understand why a hobbyist would want to spend $1000 on a printer, other than you want to burn money for you can.
As a long time owner of multiple Creality printers I decided to buy a Bambu Lab X1C. It has been the best printing experience ever. It just works. No tweaking, no jailbreaking, no swapping out hot-ends to get great results. It just works. I'm not going back.

"it just works" is nothing new. It's also a Prusa thing ;o) The point is though: it comes with the very high price! And for that it should "just work"!
You so much as fart on that acrylic and it's going to have a massive gash on the side of it. If an X1 breaks during shipping, that sucks, but you'll get it replaced under warranty and it will then last the rest of your natural life.
Using a CHT nozzle, I have printed regular PLA at speeds over around 400 mm/s (0.4 wide, 0.2 high) with great results. So the printer can definitely run at very high speed. That was before my hot end heater kicked the bucket. Now I’m printing at 0mm/s.
It's good that that nozzle makes the machine work, but I shouldn't have to spend an extra cent on a $700 machine( for me) to make it work as advertised! The 3d community needs to stop taking crap from the manufacturers, sure you might have bought an ender 3 for $100, but now we're talking machines up to and over $1000.
I've had this printer for a month now, and with the exception of the app, it's worked amazingly well. This is my first 3d printer, and I was churning out models like it was the replicator in Star trek. I bought the camera pre-sale so that's no issue. I I don't think it's unusual for most printers to have a few teething pains in the first few months, admittedly I have no experience with the Bambu, but there's significant savings beyond the $100 difference you omitted or kind of glossed over between the base bambu lab printer. This is a winner in my book, the slicer issue sucks, but overall this thing has made me a huge fan of the additive manufacturing scene, I'm definitely hooked on this creality.
You're leaving out updated information about the K1, with some notable exceptions all problems have been ironed out like you'd expect. A decent amount of time has passed since the review of the pre-sale iteration you received, perhaps you owe us a fresh review.

@@3DPrintSOS Yep, trust me, Creality can say they don't mind people modifying the settings that they blocked, but then they doubled down and patched that exploit which proves their comment about allowing experienced users to modify is an absolute ruse. I was able to roll back the firmware and get back in, but between that ridiculous and illegal (as mentioned in this video) stunt, they really changed the way I look at Creality and thus avoidance of future products. Yes, it's great I was able to roll back, but anyone wanting fluidd and full Klipper access eventually won't be able to avoid a future firmware update as it needs work. Also, when they finally release the LiDAR upgrade, guess what that is going to require? So be fair warned if you haven't purchased one yet.
I hate that Bambu locks me down but I've never had these problems out of my Bambu so I quit caring. Especially since they mostly seem concerned about fixing any issues.
I do not recommend this printer. Looks gorgeous, but the results are based on LUCK 100%. I had two "good" revisions (with good extruder) and had only PROBLEMS. First had noise issue, something was resonating so much you could not sit in front of it (not like normal loud Creality K1 noises), returned, got another one - this one just printed everything wrong. Underextrusions, dimensions problems, rattling door, minor noise problems (less than previous). I just returned that and I am waiting for refund. Planning on buying a P1P. BTW Z-axis motor is the loudest I've heard! When printer finished print you can literally hear it through walls. Also Creality app is the worst. So much notifications. None of the functionality. On paper it's great, prints fast, looks nice, full enclosure and full access to Klipper through Fluidd (by some hacks, but still). But I'd recommend staying far from this printer. If you want to exchange most of the parts then go ahead...
The fact that this machine can be jailbroken and modded like this is a fantastic feature of the machine. Beginners can stick to the simplified Creality supplied software and stock hardware and probably have a great experience. Unless they run into some QC issue, time will tell how well Creality does on this machine but that's indeed where Bambu has the edge. Fully agreeing with your conclusion on it for being tinkerers mostly, lots of potential and it's on my watchlist for a potential upgrade. This next to the Prusa XL as them being EU based, sticking to the open values and larger focus on long term dependability still makes me favour them over Bambu and especially AnkerMake.
I debated getting this (the Max really) or the X1C. Glad I stuck with the X1C. While this printer 'seems' good, the fact that you want to, or have to, make modifications to it to make it more reliable or print better is just a no-go for me. I love tinkering as much as the next guy, but I'd rather tinker on my ~$200 machine and just let me X1C do work w/o having to worry about it like most seem to do with the K1.
After this review, I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger to buy a K1. I currently run a small farm of Ender 5-S1 with full acrylic enclosures. With what I do, I don't fan boy over super fast print speeds, so I think I'll stay put with what I have.
Good review, the issue about Open Source has to be addressed, the latest firmware helps Creality, Bambu is a lost cause. I received my K1 from Creality on 1/3/24 and printed for 4 days without issues then the under extrusion issue hit: Seems the tubing was causing friction along with a roll of 3 year old PLA that was not aging nicely. After disassembling my extruder and cleaning the gears I removed the tubing from the wire guide and straighten out the tubing as best as I could. I have some new tubing on the way that is suppose to have less friction than the stock tubing. I added a filament cleaner before the filament out switch for when I run old filament. I purchased the K1 to print the parts to upgrade my TronXY to VzBots, there are many parts and they use ABS which my 7 month old End 3 V2 Neo would have taken a month to print... 35 hours for a tool drawer that holds a PI on the Neo vs 5 hours on the K1.

I’d love to see a comparison between the two. Really, I don’t care if something is locked down as long as it’s good and reliable. After all, all commercial 3D printers are locked down. I would still recommend the Bamboo. The P1P isn’t that much more expensive, though it’s not enclosed, even with the side panels you can print. And at this time, there’s plenty of experience with Bamboos’ machines, but none with this one. Bamboo has made many hardware and software improvements. We have yet to see what Creality will do with this. And I really don’t like the idea of having to use a third party slicer and losing half the features - important ones. Let’s tune in again in 6 months and see where it is.

I'm new to 3D printing, only since March of this year and already I've built a Voron 2.4 and I'm currently gutting a Qidi Tech XPlus-3 and replacing the MCU (wish me luck!) I say all this because watching you and those that have been at this for much longer made the decision not to hoard information but share it. So, I thank you, for sharing your passion and making it contagious!
The K1 (or possibly the K1 Max) was on my wishlist, to move away from the machines I had to tinker more with instead of actually print. But all the reviews from all the first users on UA-cam steered me to the Bambu Lab X1C and I haven't looked back. ;-)
@@thenextlayer I can absolutely understand you getting a wooden crate because of where you are at. I just noticed on almost all UA-cam reviews of this printer, they all came in wooden crates. Mine came in a box and everybody else that I’ve talked to in forums came in a box. Be safe
If you ask me, being an Engineer worked both in China and the States, I will tell you - Bambu is operating like a USA company while Creality is very much a China company. I don't mean to say one is better than the other. It depends on what aspect do you choose to look at it, and you can find them both have some pros and cons. But if you are a consumer that is not highly budget constraint, you are very likely to prefer a USA company. And don't get me wrong - I really mean that there are pros and cons to both of them. Like you can see the price tag on K1 is lower than P1P. And if you ask Amazon employee about their view of the company and compare to a Prime user. It all depends on your view.
I just got return authorization for mine. Hot end failed, extruder failed, motors over heated and it turned out it's bent. No one should buy the K1, maybe creality will learn to do some quality control. Buy the Bambu Lab.
Sounds like K1 series is soo close to what we want but not quite there. Hopefully the K1 Max fixes these issues as a large format printer will overtake the Bambu quickly I think
You really should. I see the K1 max has all the bells and whistle and they probably held back on the max to find the issues on the K1. We'll we can hope.
They are "never quite there", that should be their slogan. That being said, I have an ender neo that is working extremelly well with anything I through at it (but again it wasn't quite there until I replaced the glass bed for a PEI sheet).
Just got mine in yesterday. It has printed flawlessly minus one adhesion issue (I refuse to use glue and it should come with textured pei sheet). I gotten the latest hardware update apparently though. Textured extruder lever and white ptfe insert is how you know. 0 problems with the new revision so far. Coming from a Tevo Tornado this thing is like magic :-)
The footage wasn't that clear but i think i noticed the lever placement on one of the extruders they gave you is reversed. It is made like that so the chain doesn't interfere with the lever?

Hey love your channel - but this review ...."feels off". I mean - if you need to consult a mechanical engineer and russian hackers to get a good machine ..... I get it - you are an advanced user - and as someone who likes to tinker with things myself - I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the accomplishment of that you DID fix this defective machine - but that should be in the "I fixed this broken thing" - but the printer - out of the box - is bad. I would cut the video - make it short "ok, this thing has potential - but does not work well." and list the reasons. But then say "hey, if you are a tinkerer and don’t mind jailbreaking and coding - you can make it better - watch these videos". I can say, you did save me time in wanting a k1 max. Appreciate all the hard work and passion you put into the channel - thanks again for the video.
Agree entirely. Those who watch this video's conclusions without watching the full review will receive an entirely different message. The conclusion should be: The K1 is not a Bambu or Prusa competitor, as the K1 doesn't "just work". The K1 is a printer that requires modifications to both hardware and software to achieve a functional state. It costs less, but requires far more work of the user.
Seems like the same old creality story. Components are hit or miss due to lacl of quality control. Its a half-baked product and after a couple of prints you will have to work on it to get it to work properly and spend money and time on upgrades. I guess for people who enjoy tinkering more than printing or have other reliable printers, this might be the printer for them. Hard to see the appeal for a print farm where reliability is key
"Creality people have no problem with more advanced users doing whatever they want to the printer"? Then why do they offer an update (the latest one, do not update!) which "closes" the possibility to jailbreak the K1?
It doesn't actually close the possibility. All they did was reset the root password and close the security vulnerability, which they really should do, and removed some disabled components we were re enabling.. We know the root password so we can get in and we can install the pieces that no longer come on it disabled.

Thank you for making this, it's made it so much simpler to avoid this printer. It's looking like a similar experience to my emder 3 pro upgrade to 32bit and having to jump hoops getting better firmware installed after seeing the pathetic creality stripped out one. Bambu P1P is looking like the obvious option
P1P is great. If I were you, I'd wait to see my video coming out in 2 weeks, though, before you decide to buy a P1P... Also, if/when you do, I'd appreciate if you click jle.vi/bambu so I get my filthy affiliate cookies all over your browser :)
I gotta say, I had that problem with my 1st K1, all I did was change the Bowden to a Capricorn, and still ran it through the chain and haven’t had a problem printing since.
That’s the problem… the end user has to jailbreak it. Creality could patch the exploit, probably should, and then the end user is stuck behind the poor software. This printer seems like a loss leader and Creality needs users to subscribe to their cloud services in order to make this thing profitable. Just not the environment in which I’m looking to participate. Also, for a review… feel like the jailbreak conversation is inauthentic as the end user must “break into” their own product. A follow-up video walking through the jailbreak process and then reassessing if the risks are worth ownership would have been great. Maybe that could drive more eyeballs to the channel as well.
@@heroflying Kind of, they implemented it so poorly that we already know the root password of it. Furthermore you can downgrade the firmware to .15 with fluidd and moonraker included.
This machine will be a big seller for Creality. Unfortunate that they went cheap on some of the parts. Why does Creality always release machines that need modding to get working right.
Bad news on the jailbreak front: the ota update 1.2.9.21 breaks the exploit for full Fluidd access (yes, I was that foolish and ran the update). I haven't figured out how to roll back to 1.2.9.14 or .15, despite some good natured help from Creality chat support. Hopefully there will be an exploit update and/or I can make a roll-back happen because I really loved having the full Fluidd interface and I had just received the AI camera when i made this mistake. 😢

I loved this video, very useful information, I am very interested in the K1, I can get one for 760 USD taxes and shipping included from Amazon, but I have to pay 1400 for a P1P (bambu does not ship to my country) and if all I need to do is change the software even change the extruder, it is way cheaper that the p1p

@@thenextlayer I live in Mexico, it could be worth buying a P1P in USA with one of my relatives, but in my opinion the K1 has the great advantage of being a enclosed printer, and Amazon is very convenient for me, and I like to tinker with the machines, I'll take a look at the link, thank you very much for the video.
WANRNING: Don't upgrade to the July 3 firmware, 1.2.9.21 after performing K3D's jailbreak. The update clears the changes required to enable complete Fluidd access. The release notes list "Fix the security issue". After performing the upgrade, K3D's jailbreak no longer works. So, Creality doesn't want us to use the full power of Klipper, only their lobotomized version. It's a shame too, as I had configured Orcaslicer to upload directly to the K1 on port 4408.
They say if u try BONDTECH CHT NOZZLE VULCANO.. U will not have underextrudion.. try to look "Guys Shop" - "Creality K1 Speedy 3D printer test and review - is this the true winner ower the Bambu P1P" and tnx for your information
I just got a k1 and i jail broke it right after I got it and I really did it because the z off set was terrible and I was surprised that there wasn’t a way to adjust it and I’m printing at 600mm/s at 20000k and it’s been great and I believe that it can go even higher I’m going to get some stepper dampeners to quiet it down a bit and I really love the look of this thing and everything thing for me has just worked really well I did take the Bowden tube out of the cable chain and I’ve had no problems with under extrusion and I also am running a two tree tech pei bed from my Ender 3 and it’s been running amazing I do wish the screen would work as I think it’s a better screen than the x1 in terms of response time and what not and right now creality will give you two free 1kg spools of hyper pla when you buy it plus the little mini one I do wish creality would just allow you to choose from their interface and the full klipper interface I also have been using orca slicer for it and it’s been great I have had to tune the settings a bit but it’s been great and I’ve loved having it
I’ve been very impressed with the print quality coming off of my K-1, but I did have to free the bowden tube from the chain, and I got very impressive prints. Also I bought the camera that they were selling for $30 and was not very impressed by the quality or the viewing angle, needless to say, it’s still functions as a great print monitor.
I think the X1C would win hands down, just seems like Creality is trying hard to compete but sticking with the old "Let them mod and tinker" approach. Its great for the more inexpensive printers and the people who love tinkering and tweaking love them and live and die by them. The X1C is just such a nice machine and there is no tinkering or modding its as plug and play as it gets these days I have never had to touch a setting and the only failed prints have been my fault due to dirty bed or what not. The only downside the X1C really has is the noise, and honestly after buying it and being super worried about that its not all that bad.
Mine is arriving tomorrow or thursday... if it survived South African Customs, that is. I also heard you can just use any USB cam and it will use it as the "AI" is in the software.
I bought the K1, mostly because of the price difference. I was irritated when I found out the camera is not even released yet. I've had one on order from Aliexpress for a month, I think it dropped last week maybe? Anyway, love your vids, and FWIW, I'd like to see you do a video where you push the K1 as far as it can go. My camera will be here tomorrow. I ordered direct from their store. Though I have been seeing that some people have just used webcams and that the AI aspect is built into the software.
It's kind of obvious that the K1 was rushed into production so there are several flaws ... a defective extruder is like a car with a defective engine - after they fix these problems , it will be competitive ... it will require some attention to detail.
It would have been nice if Creality shipped the pre-sale K1 that I ordered in a timber crate like all the review printers. Mine shipped from China to Australia in a soft cardboard box with inadequate foam padding, and arrived totally destroyed with the glass front door shattered and was promptly returned for refund. Seeing the issues the reviews are exposing on the K1 makes me feel better about returning for the refund. I decided to invest (a fair bit extra) in a Bambu X1C with AMS where the only print failure I have experienced was printing an included sample sliced model with eSun PLA+ instead of re-slicing the model and adjusting for better bed adhesion.
I'd personally love to see a limit testing for the K1. I don't believe the default profiles are anywhere near the maximum speeds that you can achieve with the printer.
funny thing is, the maker of the exploit for getting full klipper access tested the printer and it is worse than advertised. It can only reach 200-300mm/s and 7k accel at max
. . . and needing to modify Creality printers is kinda par for the course. Hate to say it, but their printers *are* pretty garbage quality out of the box. Maybe works fine for a few prints, but if you're a heavy user you will certainly be needing to make changes. With the Ender 3, the plastic extruder needs to replaced with a metal one eventually as the plastic one is prone to breaking. Also the hot end really, really should be changed if you want to print anything high temp (or if you have a pet bird), as the PTFE tube can emit toxic fumes because it's placed next to the hot nozzle, and in any case is a constant source of jamming if you can't get it perfectly flush with the nozzle. . . . and there's also a bunch of other stuff that can be changed as well to increase reliability.
HAD high hopes for the K1, but too many issues! I'll wait a bit longer to see if the Max pans out or if they are still half a$$ing it... So far the leader of my want list is the X1Carbon. I have my ender 3 if I want to fiddle with my printer, my next one I want to Work with no issues and the X1 does that from all the reports. Thanks for sharing with us!
@@thenextlayer I would like to know if it works out of the box - or if it has the same issues as this one. My only girpe of the x1 carbon is that I want a bigger one. (my old ender 3 would be ashamed of me.....). Once printers get more than a couple of hundred bucks - they should go from "a kit for tinkerers, hackers and engineers" to working out of the box. Maybe if they can address the issues you point out in this video - but until that time...

The K1 looks like any other creality, you have to repair it from day 1, maybe if they stopped cloning every other machine they could come up with a good design for themselves.
Posting this a bit before watching entire video....... The K1 is clearly a work in progress. I am in no way a Creality fan... in fact, I'm more of a Prusa fan boy, and then after that, any other open source 3d printer. However.. I do think given some time, that the K1 will get more love from the enthusiast community. Supposedly, Creality will be open sourcing its design (we'll see), but with it running Klipper, its far more hackable (As evidenced by Nathan and his fix). So its far less polished that Bambu today, but I think it has the bones to be better in the long run, and more appealing due to its open nature. Its taken Bambu time to refine their X1C/P1P. I know if Creality responds to Bambu's recent price drop and make it closer to $499, I'd have a hard time saying no to it. Klipper, mod-friendly, steel rods over carbon fiber. But my personal issue with the K1 (and even Bambu printers) is security. The hack to open up the full Klipper on the K1 leverages a big security hole in Crealitys Klipper version ( Moonraker API can move a file out of the install directory and move it to /etc/shadow). Maybe this is why by default they have a stripped down version. But that's my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.
This line "sendPayload('{"method":"set","params":{"opGcodeFile":"renameprt:/usr/data/printer_data/gcodes/shadow.gcode:/etc/shadow"}}')" in the exploit HTML file that sends to the Moonraker API to move the and rename the file should not be allowed. Creality should be roasted for this.
As for the lack of a camera, for me, non-issue. I really don't need another camera service to review my printers. I'll put my own cameras so I can have a single app to review all my cameras.
any chance of getting those orca slicer profiles to look at and try out? I have a fairly good one already for the K1, but there is still room for improvement
Like ive said on other reviews etc, K1 is a poorly rushed to market clone of the P1P with the common creality poor quality control and execution, which should not be surprising to anyone.
Me also I need to improve the machine by myself. I put bimetal barrel and new volcano nozzle that goes better than the default machine. Next... I need a better extruder because the cogwheels, sometimes, get caught and not allow the filament to get out from the nozzle. It is a great machine but very far away from Bambu Lab. It's my personal opinion. Greeetings from Spain.
I actually bought two P1P printers since they ere on sale i was going to buy the X1 Carbon as well but i stoped because i need a taller or higher in size printer and i heard Bambu might be coming up with XL model so i wonder what is all that about. I wonder if its going to have a larger printing area only? or will it have taller printing area? or both? if you guys have information on this please let me know. I would like to stick to Bambu labs printers because the speed and price affordability. I am not sure if there are other companies out there that make these printers taller in size and affordable in price like Bambu, if you guys have some information on that please share it with me and everybody else i would greatly appreciate it.
Should i buy 2 bambu lab p1ps or should i get 1 x1 carbon for a small 3d printing business? It will cost me £1435 for 2 stock p1ps and an ams but it will cost me £1334 for x1 carbon combo. Any recommendations?
Creality should release the source since they used Open source parts like Klipper & Fluidd and have hidden those under their own skin. Creality still refuses to honor the creative commons license and this is bad practice of Creality.
So basically an budget knock off of the Bambu but slightly to significantly worse in nearly every way out of the box? Plus bad software and likely violations of open source licenses? Got it. Hard pass. I want a printer, not another profession.
This clearly is another pathetic attempt at staying on par with the 3D printing revolution but failing at it miserably. Anyone still throwing money at Creality is a fool. Great hardware but you already had to replace the most important part? Contradictio in terminis. Creality has never innovated in anything. Funny you should compare their software with Aliexpress, I did the exact same thing in my app review. Violating open source licences, while their entire ecosystem is built on it, is unforgivable. You shouldn't be translating Russian tutorials to make a device work properly. If that isn't a major red flag, I don't know what is. They stumbled upon an accidental success with the Ender back in the day but they are no evangelists. You've been kind to retain your parthership but let's face it, this printer is for no-one.

I pre-ordered the machine and was hesitant to really go down that road. At one point, I even tried to cancel the pre-order but the free filament had already shipped and the machine was shipped soon thereafter. And honestly, Im glad I got it. I havent really had any of the issues that others have had. Mine extrudes fine (Im on the V1 extruder, theyre up to V4 now but its mostly minor tweaks), it prints reliably and fast and I just love the overall workflow. Being able to "one-click print" from the Creality Print software has been great and I rarely have any issues with my prints. I've done the usual things and upgraded some parts, as one does with a 3D printer.. I've printed vented lid risers, taken the bowden tube out of the chain to make the filament path less constrained, I've manually trammed the bed from underneath the printer to the best of my ability and I have also printed some simple blocks to make belt tension adjustment easier. I'm currently designing and about to put some vent adapters and such online so people can hook up a simple 100mm/4" vent duct to the side fan exhaust for safer ABS and ASA printing.
It really has done wonders for my prototyping of various stuff. 3D printing can only get a lot better from here on out!
The spam and incessant notifications in the cloud app are a huge red flag...the Internet of Things has enough concerns in it that we don't need to include built-in spam advertisements. Remember, folks, the "S" in "IoT" stands for "security." The brazen license violations are also pretty upsetting, as is the way that Creality rolled out review units - it mostly seems like they cleaned up flaws and are now getting machines into the hands of good reviewers, but the first few (including Nathan Builds Robots' video) could readily have been mistaken for advertisements rather than independent reviews.
That being said: with some work, this does appear to be a viable alternative to the Bambu Lab family of printers. Even with the pants-dropping new price of the P1P, the K1 and K1 Max seem aimed more at the X1 Carbon than the P1P in terms of features and design. I actually really appreciate that Creality seems to have entirely avoided the multi-material add-ons - the unbelievable waste and increased chance for print failures and printer damage with the AMS, poop chute, and associated parts on the Bambu machines is something I see as a drawback, not a benefit, from that design. The fundamental design concept is still "you get 85% of the experience of a premium printer at roughly half the price" as it was with the Ender 3 competing against the Prusa Mk3. That was a hugely successful business plan several years ago and may very well still be a good idea.

At MRRF, Creality had a large sign at their booth that said "The power of modifying". Modifying Creality printers seems to be the norm so them being okay with hacks to the firmware makes sense.
I'm staying away from Creality, I've had many Ender printers and the quality isn't there. I've had no problems with my Bambu Lab printers so far, I'll stick with what works.
Buyer beware on these. The build quality seems to vary quite a lot from unit to unit. Mine has been broken for over 3 weeks with different issues. Creality support does eventually come through and send parts, but of the 2 months I've had the printer, it essentially has spent half of the time broken.
@@LilApe When I bought my mk3s when it was new, Prusa took about 3 weeks of back and forth of me essentially telling them that a rod had a huge gash in it and to send a new one. They wanted pictures and videos and asked the same questions 3 or 4 times over again each time a new person showed up in support. After they sent the part, it arrived in about a week, but their support is a joke.
Remember too, the mk3s was a $1000 printer at this point, these are half that. So yea, I don't think it's just China.
LilApe has been blocked for a pattern of bashing one specific company in favor of another specific company - highly suspect.
Lets hope Creality does not drop support like 3 month after launch. One thing they kinda did with all the Ender 3 variants out there.
Also the software support with providing a simple walkthrough to use open Klipper software would be a huge milestone for Creality in the direction of the community!
Now I'll just wait for the first long term experiences with this printer that include maintenance and repairability. And the second thing that seems not to be right for my case: *can this thing also print slow and quiet, or not?!* Because after all I want to use it in my apartment. The enclosed and much more stylish appearance seems just to fit well. But it seems to me all those "fast Klipper printers" like the K1, Vorons and Bambu Lab are just very noisy machines ... which is fine when you need speed. But a "slow and quiet" mode would also be fine, wouldn't it?

1 correction:
BambuLab actually reduced the prices of the P1P to $599 a couple of weeks ago.
And the camera+led combo now comes built in (as opposed to you having to install them yourself).
So P1P with a camera is now slightly cheaper than the K1.
No, the P1P is still about $250 more expensive, why does everyone forget that the P1P doesn't have an encluser!?
If you only use the printer for a little hobby stuff, you still want to be able to print most materials, if you have it for a business and know that you will only print in Pla, then of course encluser is not as important.

I would say the other way around.
If you only print little hobby stuff - you're fine with an open printer that can only print PLA/PTU/etc.
If you need a professional printer, that can print PETG/Nylon/etc. - get an enclosed printer.
In any case - with the amount of issues mentioned both in the review, and in the user comments, I would say a Bambu or Prusa would be the safer option, you can rely on to get a perfect print every time.
The K1 looks like a machine that would require a lot of tinkering to get it to work.
You are of course completely wrong, as a hobbyist you don't know from time to time what to print and what files you will find to print.
Why buy a P1P when it doesn't have an encluser, you might as well buy one of these new fast budget printers and buy an encluser for $60, I don't understand why a hobbyist would want to spend $1000 on a printer, other than you want to burn money for you can.

As a long time owner of multiple Creality printers I decided to buy a Bambu Lab X1C. It has been the best printing experience ever. It just works. No tweaking, no jailbreaking, no swapping out hot-ends to get great results. It just works. I'm not going back.

I feel the acrylic/plexiglass windows are a plus for durability. I've seen a lot of X1 machines with smashed glass from shipping roughness
I've seen plenty of breakage of the K1 on forums.
You so much as fart on that acrylic and it's going to have a massive gash on the side of it. If an X1 breaks during shipping, that sucks, but you'll get it replaced under warranty and it will then last the rest of your natural life.
I am waiting for the K1 max to launch and see how that goes. Also going to wait and see who else competes this year.
They might send me one, but I need to cool it on reviews, too many reviews and product-related videos on the channel lately.
Using a CHT nozzle, I have printed regular PLA at speeds over around 400 mm/s (0.4 wide, 0.2 high) with great results. So the printer can definitely run at very high speed. That was before my hot end heater kicked the bucket. Now I’m printing at 0mm/s.

It's good that that nozzle makes the machine work, but I shouldn't have to spend an extra cent on a $700 machine( for me) to make it work as advertised!
The 3d community needs to stop taking crap from the manufacturers, sure you might have bought an ender 3 for $100, but now we're talking machines up to and over $1000.
I've had this printer for a month now, and with the exception of the app, it's worked amazingly well. This is my first 3d printer, and I was churning out models like it was the replicator in Star trek. I bought the camera pre-sale so that's no issue. I I don't think it's unusual for most printers to have a few teething pains in the first few months, admittedly I have no experience with the Bambu,
but there's significant savings beyond the $100 difference you omitted or kind of glossed over between the base bambu lab printer. This is a winner in my book, the slicer issue sucks, but overall this thing has made me a huge fan of the additive manufacturing scene, I'm definitely hooked on this creality.
You're leaving out updated information about the K1, with some notable exceptions all problems have been ironed out like you'd expect.
A decent amount of time has passed since the review of the pre-sale iteration you received, perhaps you owe us a fresh review.

@@3DPrintSOS Yep, trust me, Creality can say they don't mind people modifying the settings that they blocked, but then they doubled down and patched that exploit which proves their comment about allowing experienced users to modify is an absolute ruse. I was able to roll back the firmware and get back in, but between that ridiculous and illegal (as mentioned in this video) stunt, they really changed the way I look at Creality and thus avoidance of future products. Yes, it's great I was able to roll back, but anyone wanting fluidd and full Klipper access eventually won't be able to avoid a future firmware update as it needs work. Also, when they finally release the LiDAR upgrade, guess what that is going to require? So be fair warned if you haven't purchased one yet.
I hate that Bambu locks me down but I've never had these problems out of my Bambu so I quit caring. Especially since they mostly seem concerned about fixing any issues.

I do not recommend this printer. Looks gorgeous, but the results are based on LUCK 100%. I had two "good" revisions (with good extruder) and had only PROBLEMS. First had noise issue, something was resonating so much you could not sit in front of it (not like normal loud Creality K1 noises), returned, got another one - this one just printed everything wrong. Underextrusions, dimensions problems, rattling door, minor noise problems (less than previous). I just returned that and I am waiting for refund. Planning on buying a P1P.
BTW Z-axis motor is the loudest I've heard! When printer finished print you can literally hear it through walls.
Also Creality app is the worst. So much notifications. None of the functionality.
On paper it's great, prints fast, looks nice, full enclosure and full access to Klipper through Fluidd (by some hacks, but still). But I'd recommend staying far from this printer. If you want to exchange most of the parts then go ahead...

The fact that this machine can be jailbroken and modded like this is a fantastic feature of the machine.
Beginners can stick to the simplified Creality supplied software and stock hardware and probably have a great experience.
Unless they run into some QC issue, time will tell how well Creality does on this machine but that's indeed where Bambu has the edge.
Fully agreeing with your conclusion on it for being tinkerers mostly, lots of potential and it's on my watchlist for a potential upgrade.
This next to the Prusa XL as them being EU based, sticking to the open values and larger focus on long term dependability still makes me favour them over Bambu and especially AnkerMake.
I debated getting this (the Max really) or the X1C. Glad I stuck with the X1C. While this printer 'seems' good, the fact that you want to, or have to, make modifications to it to make it more reliable or print better is just a no-go for me. I love tinkering as much as the next guy, but I'd rather tinker on my ~$200 machine and just let me X1C do work w/o having to worry about it like most seem to do with the K1.

After this review, I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger to buy a K1. I currently run a small farm of Ender 5-S1 with full acrylic enclosures. With what I do, I don't fan boy over super fast print speeds, so I think I'll stay put with what I have.

Good review, the issue about Open Source has to be addressed, the latest firmware helps Creality, Bambu is a lost cause. I received my K1 from Creality on 1/3/24 and printed for 4 days without issues then the under extrusion issue hit: Seems the tubing was causing friction along with a roll of 3 year old PLA that was not aging nicely. After disassembling my extruder and cleaning the gears I removed the tubing from the wire guide and straighten out the tubing as best as I could. I have some new tubing on the way that is suppose to have less friction than the stock tubing. I added a filament cleaner before the filament out switch for when I run old filament. I purchased the K1 to print the parts to upgrade my TronXY to VzBots, there are many parts and they use ABS which my 7 month old End 3 V2 Neo would have taken a month to print... 35 hours for a tool drawer that holds a PI on the Neo vs 5 hours on the K1.
It's incredible that a brand new 700-800 dollar machine still can't do basic prusa stuff from 5 years ago, like basic leveling

Really, I don’t care if something is locked down as long as it’s good and reliable. After all, all commercial 3D printers are locked down. I would still recommend the Bamboo. The P1P isn’t that much more expensive, though it’s not enclosed, even with the side panels you can print. And at this time, there’s plenty of experience with Bamboos’ machines, but none with this one. Bamboo has made many hardware and software improvements. We have yet to see what Creality will do with this. And I really don’t like the idea of having to use a third party slicer and losing half the features - important ones. Let’s tune in again in 6 months and see where it is.

The K1 (or possibly the K1 Max) was on my wishlist, to move away from the machines I had to tinker more with instead of actually print. But all the reviews from all the first users on UA-cam steered me to the Bambu Lab X1C and I haven't looked back. ;-)

If you ask me, being an Engineer worked both in China and the States, I will tell you - Bambu is operating like a USA company while Creality is very much a China company.
I don't mean to say one is better than the other. It depends on what aspect do you choose to look at it, and you can find them both have some pros and cons. But if you are a consumer that is not highly budget constraint, you are very likely to prefer a USA company.
And don't get me wrong - I really mean that there are pros and cons to both of them. Like you can see the price tag on K1 is lower than P1P. And if you ask Amazon employee about their view of the company and compare to a Prime user. It all depends on your view.

I just got return authorization for mine. Hot end failed, extruder failed, motors over heated and it turned out it's bent. No one should buy the K1, maybe creality will learn to do some quality control. Buy the Bambu Lab.

Sounds like K1 series is soo close to what we want but not quite there. Hopefully the K1 Max fixes these issues as a large format printer will overtake the Bambu quickly I think

You really should. I see the K1 max has all the bells and whistle and they probably held back on the max to find the issues on the K1. We'll we can hope.
They are "never quite there", that should be their slogan. That being said, I have an ender neo that is working extremelly well with anything I through at it (but again it wasn't quite there until I replaced the glass bed for a PEI sheet).
Just got mine in yesterday. It has printed flawlessly minus one adhesion issue (I refuse to use glue and it should come with textured pei sheet). I gotten the latest hardware update apparently though. Textured extruder lever and white ptfe insert is how you know. 0 problems with the new revision so far. Coming from a Tevo Tornado this thing is like magic :-)

The footage wasn't that clear but i think i noticed the lever placement on one of the extruders they gave you is reversed. It is made like that so the chain doesn't interfere with the lever?

I mean - if you need to consult a mechanical engineer and russian hackers to get a good machine .....
I get it - you are an advanced user - and as someone who likes to tinker with things myself - I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the accomplishment of that you DID fix this defective machine - but that should be in the "I fixed this broken thing" - but the printer - out of the box - is bad.
I would cut the video - make it short "ok, this thing has potential - but does not work well." and list the reasons.
But then say "hey, if you are a tinkerer and don’t mind jailbreaking and coding - you can make it better - watch these videos".
I can say, you did save me time in wanting a k1 max.

Agree entirely. Those who watch this video's conclusions without watching the full review will receive an entirely different message.
The conclusion should be: The K1 is not a Bambu or Prusa competitor, as the K1 doesn't "just work". The K1 is a printer that requires modifications to both hardware and software to achieve a functional state. It costs less, but requires far more work of the user.
My K1 has been sitting because of the under extruding problem, so now I know that I'm not the only one with the issue.
Seems like the same old creality story. Components are hit or miss due to lacl of quality control. Its a half-baked product and after a couple of prints you will have to work on it to get it to work properly and spend money and time on upgrades. I guess for people who enjoy tinkering more than printing or have other reliable printers, this might be the printer for them. Hard to see the appeal for a print farm where reliability is key

Apparently they did that after they told me it's all good. Super annoying. I won't be updating.

It doesn't actually close the possibility. All they did was reset the root password and close the security vulnerability, which they really should do, and removed some disabled components we were re enabling.. We know the root password so we can get in and we can install the pieces that no longer come on it disabled.
Exactly. And I mentioned the same thing (above). That is clearly a lie to avoid the backlash and possible lawsuit.
I appreciate the no-bs-no-excuses approach to them not honoring the open source licenses

Thank you for making this, it's made it so much simpler to avoid this printer. It's looking like a similar experience to my emder 3 pro upgrade to 32bit and having to jump hoops getting better firmware installed after seeing the pathetic creality stripped out one.

I gotta say, I had that problem with my 1st K1, all I did was change the Bowden to a Capricorn, and still ran it through the chain and haven’t had a problem printing since.

That’s the problem… the end user has to jailbreak it. Creality could patch the exploit, probably should, and then the end user is stuck behind the poor software.
This printer seems like a loss leader and Creality needs users to subscribe to their cloud services in order to make this thing profitable.
Just not the environment in which I’m looking to participate.
Also, for a review… feel like the jailbreak conversation is inauthentic as the end user must “break into” their own product. A follow-up video walking through the jailbreak process and then reassessing if the risks are worth ownership would have been great. Maybe that could drive more eyeballs to the channel as well.
They already did patch the exploit to jailbreak it apparently.

This machine will be a big seller for Creality. Unfortunate that they went cheap on some of the parts. Why does Creality always release machines that need modding to get working right.

Bad news on the jailbreak front: the ota update 1.2.9.21 breaks the exploit for full Fluidd access (yes, I was that foolish and ran the update). I haven't figured out how to roll back to 1.2.9.14 or .15, despite some good natured help from Creality chat support.
Hopefully there will be an exploit update and/or I can make a roll-back happen because I really loved having the full Fluidd interface and I had just received the AI camera when i made this mistake. 😢
Great video. I also bought a Creality K1. Its cool but I wish I got a Bambu Labs. I have had issues with the K1 extruder as well!

I loved this video, very useful information, I am very interested in the K1, I can get one for 760 USD taxes and shipping included from Amazon, but I have to pay 1400 for a P1P (bambu does not ship to my country) and if all I need to do is change the software even change the extruder, it is way cheaper that the p1p

@@thenextlayer I live in Mexico, it could be worth buying a P1P in USA with one of my relatives, but in my opinion the K1 has the great advantage of being a enclosed printer, and Amazon is very convenient for me, and I like to tinker with the machines, I'll take a look at the link, thank you very much for the video.
WANRNING: Don't upgrade to the July 3 firmware, 1.2.9.21 after performing K3D's jailbreak. The update clears the changes required to enable complete Fluidd access. The release notes list "Fix the security issue". After performing the upgrade, K3D's jailbreak no longer works. So, Creality doesn't want us to use the full power of Klipper, only their lobotomized version. It's a shame too, as I had configured Orcaslicer to upload directly to the K1 on port 4408.
I just reset the K1 and tried the exploit again. It didn't work. /sigh

I want to see the limits reached. I got an early version of the extruder which Creality is sending me a new one and hot end.
I just got a k1 and i jail broke it right after I got it and I really did it because the z off set was terrible and I was surprised that there wasn’t a way to adjust it and I’m printing at 600mm/s at 20000k and it’s been great and I believe that it can go even higher I’m going to get some stepper dampeners to quiet it down a bit and I really love the look of this thing and everything thing for me has just worked really well I did take the Bowden tube out of the cable chain and I’ve had no problems with under extrusion and I also am running a two tree tech pei bed from my Ender 3 and it’s been running amazing I do wish the screen would work as I think it’s a better screen than the x1 in terms of response time and what not and right now creality will give you two free 1kg spools of hyper pla when you buy it plus the little mini one I do wish creality would just allow you to choose from their interface and the full klipper interface I also have been using orca slicer for it and it’s been great I have had to tune the settings a bit but it’s been great and I’ve loved having it

I’ve been very impressed with the print quality coming off of my K-1, but I did have to free the bowden tube from the chain, and I got very impressive prints. Also I bought the camera that they were selling for $30 and was not very impressed by the quality or the viewing angle, needless to say, it’s still functions as a great print monitor.

I think the X1C would win hands down, just seems like Creality is trying hard to compete but sticking with the old "Let them mod and tinker" approach. Its great for the more inexpensive printers and the people who love tinkering and tweaking love them and live and die by them. The X1C is just such a nice machine and there is no tinkering or modding its as plug and play as it gets these days I have never had to touch a setting and the only failed prints have been my fault due to dirty bed or what not. The only downside the X1C really has is the noise, and honestly after buying it and being super worried about that its not all that bad.
The competitor to this is the P1P, not the X1C. X1C dominates it in every way honestly.
It's nice to learn about a new acceleration unit: millimeters per second cubed...😃

I've had one on order from Aliexpress for a month, I think it dropped last week maybe? Anyway, love your vids, and FWIW, I'd like to see you do a video where you push the K1 as far as it can go.

It's kind of obvious that the K1 was rushed into production so there are several flaws ... a defective extruder is like a car with a defective engine - after they fix these problems , it will be competitive ... it will require some attention to detail.
It would have been nice if Creality shipped the pre-sale K1 that I ordered in a timber crate like all the review printers. Mine shipped from China to Australia in a soft cardboard box with inadequate foam padding, and arrived totally destroyed with the glass front door shattered and was promptly returned for refund. Seeing the issues the reviews are exposing on the K1 makes me feel better about returning for the refund. I decided to invest (a fair bit extra) in a Bambu X1C with AMS where the only print failure I have experienced was printing an included sample sliced model with eSun PLA+ instead of re-slicing the model and adjusting for better bed adhesion.

I'd personally love to see a limit testing for the K1. I don't believe the default profiles are anywhere near the maximum speeds that you can achieve with the printer.
funny thing is, the maker of the exploit for getting full klipper access tested the printer and it is worse than advertised. It can only reach 200-300mm/s and 7k accel at max

. . . and needing to modify Creality printers is kinda par for the course. Hate to say it, but their printers *are* pretty garbage quality out of the box. Maybe works fine for a few prints, but if you're a heavy user you will certainly be needing to make changes. With the Ender 3, the plastic extruder needs to replaced with a metal one eventually as the plastic one is prone to breaking. Also the hot end really, really should be changed if you want to print anything high temp (or if you have a pet bird), as the PTFE tube can emit toxic fumes because it's placed next to the hot nozzle, and in any case is a constant source of jamming if you can't get it perfectly flush with the nozzle.
. . . and there's also a bunch of other stuff that can be changed as well to increase reliability.
HAD high hopes for the K1, but too many issues! I'll wait a bit longer to see if the Max pans out or if they are still half a$$ing it... So far the leader of my want list is the X1Carbon. I have my ender 3 if I want to fiddle with my printer, my next one I want to Work with no issues and the X1 does that from all the reports. Thanks for sharing with us!

Once printers get more than a couple of hundred bucks - they should go from "a kit for tinkerers, hackers and engineers" to working out of the box.

You're leaving out updated information about the K1, with some notable exceptions all problems have been ironed out like you'd expect.
A decent amount of time has passed since the review of the pre-sale iteration you received, perhaps you owe us a fresh review.
The K1 looks like any other creality, you have to repair it from day 1, maybe if they stopped cloning every other machine they could come up with a good design for themselves.

Posting this a bit before watching entire video....... The K1 is clearly a work in progress. I am in no way a Creality fan... in fact, I'm more of a Prusa fan boy, and then after that, any other open source 3d printer. However.. I do think given some time, that the K1 will get more love from the enthusiast community. Supposedly, Creality will be open sourcing its design (we'll see), but with it running Klipper, its far more hackable (As evidenced by Nathan and his fix). So its far less polished that Bambu today, but I think it has the bones to be better in the long run, and more appealing due to its open nature. Its taken Bambu time to refine their X1C/P1P. I know if Creality responds to Bambu's recent price drop and make it closer to $499, I'd have a hard time saying no to it. Klipper, mod-friendly, steel rods over carbon fiber. But my personal issue with the K1 (and even Bambu printers) is security. The hack to open up the full Klipper on the K1 leverages a big security hole in Crealitys Klipper version ( Moonraker API can move a file out of the install directory and move it to /etc/shadow). Maybe this is why by default they have a stripped down version. But that's my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.
This line "sendPayload('{"method":"set","params":{"opGcodeFile":"renameprt:/usr/data/printer_data/gcodes/shadow.gcode:/etc/shadow"}}')" in the exploit HTML file that sends to the Moonraker API to move the and rename the file should not be allowed. Creality should be roasted for this.
As for the lack of a camera, for me, non-issue. I really don't need another camera service to review my printers. I'll put my own cameras so I can have a single app to review all my cameras.

I wonder if using the Bambu Lab PTFE tubing that has a larger than normal internal diameter of 2.5mm would help the under-extrusion problem.

Me also I need to improve the machine by myself. I put bimetal barrel and new volcano nozzle that goes better than the default machine. Next... I need a better extruder because the cogwheels, sometimes, get caught and not allow the filament to get out from the nozzle. It is a great machine but very far away from Bambu Lab. It's my personal opinion. Greeetings from Spain.
I actually bought two P1P printers since they ere on sale i was going to buy the X1 Carbon as well but i stoped because i need a taller or higher in size printer and i heard Bambu might be coming up with XL model so i wonder what is all that about. I wonder if its going to have a larger printing area only? or will it have taller printing area? or both? if you guys have information on this please let me know. I would like to stick to Bambu labs printers because the speed and price affordability. I am not sure if there are other companies out there that make these printers taller in size and affordable in price like Bambu, if you guys have some information on that please share it with me and everybody else i would greatly appreciate it.

Should i buy 2 bambu lab p1ps or should i get 1 x1 carbon for a small 3d printing business? It will cost me £1435 for 2 stock p1ps and an ams but it will cost me £1334 for x1 carbon combo. Any recommendations?

Creality should release the source since they used Open source parts like Klipper & Fluidd and have hidden those under their own skin.

This clearly is another pathetic attempt at staying on par with the 3D printing revolution but failing at it miserably. Anyone still throwing money at Creality is a fool. Great hardware but you already had to replace the most important part? Contradictio in terminis. Creality has never innovated in anything. Funny you should compare their software with Aliexpress, I did the exact same thing in my app review. Violating open source licences, while their entire ecosystem is built on it, is unforgivable. You shouldn't be translating Russian tutorials to make a device work properly. If that isn't a major red flag, I don't know what is. They stumbled upon an accidental success with the Ender back in the day but they are no evangelists. You've been kind to retain your parthership but let's face it, this printer is for no-one.
Great summary, fully agree. Unfortunately, most of the consumers are blind and stupid.
