Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed this different style of video from me today :) I wanted to do something. little more relaxed but still informative ! This is not sponsored! xx
“I am not a make-up expert”… Ok Immy, that makes two of us!! Can I just say I love that you mention “that I smile a lot”… me too… and smiling-related creases around the eyes are A-OK (imho). When it comes to beauty… I often remind myself that “No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart”. Perhaps kinda corny… but these words really do resonate with me. Love this chatty style of video Immy, all that’s missing is the coffee ☕️… haha🤣!! 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary🌸 PS - Over the years, I have always admired the way you do your eyeliner and mascara. You look amazing!! 👁 👁
I loved this chatty video! When you were talking about borrowing clothes vs renting for example, it felt like we were just getting ready together as mates. I've been to a few weddings where I didn't know a lot of people, and I find asking people about themselves is an easy way to break the ice. You don't want to be blabbing on about yourself too much, so if you're asking questions it can help.
As an outdoorsy gal in my twilight years… I’m kinda focused on chasing away wrinkles, and now more than ever before I think about UV protection. I’m gonna go out on a limb here… although I do recognize that this is more of a skin-care technique and not make-up related…. Cold Water is the thing for me!! The chilly water closes the skin’s pores which then traps the body’s natural oils, thereby resulting in smoother skin and shinier hair. Wild swimming, turning down the water temp to cool at the end of a warm shower, and snow face washes makes my skin tingle and… these treatments are free, ZW, and good for our mind and body. You have often mentioned “LMK” in today’s video Immy… I want you to know that you are a stunner, you have a natural glow and radiant beauty that is so unique… you’re just rockin’ it gurl… you look amazing!! 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary💕
I totally agree, Mary! Immy is so beautiful. ♥♥ And I also do the cold water rinse at the end of my showers. Definitely makes my hair shinier. :) I love your explanation of the benefits of the cold water on one's skin and hair. ♥
@@jemma50 Hey there my cold water enthusiast friend. I’m a wild swimmer and I just love all the amazing mental and physical benefits that come along with cold water immersion. Finishing a warm shower with a moment or two of cold water rinse is just the best. I don’t really enjoy hot showers as hot water hurts my skin. It’s a good thing you and I are “so cool”. Ⓜ️ary💕
@@marycharlebois6627 I would love to be a wild swimmer; however, a cold rinse at the end of my warm shower is all I can manage. My apartment is cold 12 months of the year, so I am cold most of the time. Basement apartment under landlords' thermostat control where they live upstairs, and basements are always colder. In the summer, the air conditioning can be brutal. sigh I usually have to open the windows to warm up. That's even with all the vents closed! So I admire you for being a wild swimmer. I have a friend who uses the Wim Hof method to dip in her pond pretty much all year round! Must be so refreshing! :) Have a wonderful week, Mary! ♥♥♥
Looks great on you, I'm glad to know they exist. I personally hate cream anything so won't be interested in buying but will keep the brand in mind to recommend if someone asks me for low waste makeup opinions. That makeup case is phenomenal!
The make-up turned out beautiful! Just a natural and soft everyday look! I love the way you explain things, English is not my first language so sometimes I have a problem with the way native talks, but I understood everything you said! I’m new in the world of zero waste and I’ve learnt a lot with this video. I feel you so much at 6:25, I’ve watched a lot of beauty guru to try and learn from them but sometimes it’s just not the same watching than doing it yourself… I think the lipstick at 16:05 actually suits you a lot, maybe you just have to get used to the shade, but it looks pretty good! Could you try any other zero waste make up brands that can be shipped to Europe or are made there? If not, do you know any brands that are maybe less expensive?
It looks beautiful!!! As a makeup artist I recommend you to put some concealer as an eye base, so you can create a canvas, and only use liner and mascara. If you want you can also use the highlighter as eyeshadow shimmer for the wedding. Good look! please show us your progress ☺️ Love from Argentina!
I would definitely recommend a regular metal eyelash curler if you're interested in starting using a curler since you liked the result of this one. It is much easier to use that that kind and would work better.
You look beautiful! I would actually recommend going the thrift route or the sustainable new fashion route. I am a very small person and the probability of me fitting into anyone else's clothing in my circles is pretty low, so I'm almost never able to borrow things from friends and family. It's been easier for me to find a couple of pieces that can be dressed up or down that are preferably black and they've been super versatile for me. I have a full length simple black dress and a slightly cropped jumpsuit/pantsuit situation that have worked for me for all of my semiformal and formal occasions, including my friend's black tie wedding. If I didn't get them dirty/sweaty during the event, I also don't have to wash them after every wear, which saves both the fabric and water system from microplastics/etc! I would agree that dry cleaning is not preferable and to dry clean after virtually every wear can't be great for the fabric either. If you would rather rent, maybe go to a local place instead of going online to reduce emissions? I feel like the main pro of renting is not having to buy the piece you're wearing but that's where the benefits end for me...
Not beauty related, but I remember watching one of your previous videos where you mentioned toothpaste. In case you haven't found anything yet, and if you're still in the UK, you should try Ben&Anna. They have toothpaste that's pretty much like the 'commercial' ones, it comes in a glass jar with a small bamboo spatula to scoop it, it's vegan and have an option with fluoride.
That’s literally on my list to try as it does have fluoride. My only gripe with it is that it’s quite a splurge for just toothpaste. I remember seeing on the Sainsbury’s site that there was a fluoride toothpaste which came in an aluminium tube and was about 4 quid (can’t remember the name of it right now) compared to Ben & Anna. So that’s another option too.
@@thechroniclesofkweencoth If you can, do try. It sounds and looks like a splurge (first time buying I was like wtf am i doing), but honestly, seems to last absolute ages.
I actually got the brow pen from this company a few weeks ago and I found the colors didn’t match from the gel / pencil but I liked the product. When I reviewed the company responded that they would correct the color and do a video call to match the best one for me!
Great video thanks Immy. Currently using a refillable makeup brand called Zao, it's probably slightly cheaper than Trestique but something I do like is that the outer packaging is made of bamboo. They do powders too. I found it in my local zero waste shop and online.
I'd love to see you try Zao Make up, it's a low waste brand from France and they also have refillable products (also powder) ✨ Ps: I LOVE their eyeliner!
Oh! Have you tried Kjaer Weiss? It is a zero waste refillable makeup brand. It is quite expensive but the packaging is really beautiful and the formulas seem really good. Oh, just got to the price point of this brand, and I'd say that Kjaer Weiss is not that much expensive, but I'm not sure... And the pakcaging is incredible compared to this one I think. :)
Hi! I don't know if you are aware of this, but you must soak your beauty blender before using it so it blends your products properly. You put it in water and then squeeze it to remove the exces water. Otherwise it won't blend your make up. And the bottom part of the beauty blender is to remove excess product if you used too much, to blend the make up or the bronzer you have to use the thin part. I hope it helps!
I'm so happy you're back and updating again. I love your content so much, Immy :) I never ever wear makeup. I tried when I was younger but I was allergic so I stopped and then it just became me. You're super pretty without makeup and you don't have to wear makeup to the wedding! I think you should just wear your regular makeup that you feel comfortable in and like. I don't like that women/femmes/feminine presenting people are expected to wear makeup to events, men never do and neither do I. And I'm sure everything will be great on the wedding. I'm the same, super sociable but also get anxious when I haven't met anyone for a long while.
You look beautiful Immy! I live in the US and am definitely intrigued by this brand, hopefully they create more shades soon. I have been switching my make up products to Elate which ship from Canada and love them so far. Elate’s consultants matched me with the perfect shades for me over a zoom call, and most of their products are refillable (not all). I may try this brand next when I need to replace some other items. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks for a lovely video! I really think the colors suit you pallette really well. The makeup overall look natural, but enhanced and defined, very polished natural and pretty. Also I think you could wear this to a lot of different ocasions ❤️
You did a great job! Amazing video! Really thorough. I tend to buy or make and then sell or gift or donate. For me, social situations are always easier if there’s an animal involved. I hang out with folks’ animals more than them for the most part. I understand them better. I hope the wedding went well. I’m watching this in prep for my own. I don’t normally wear makeup and everything I have is out of date. But I want to get some new bits in for my wedding.
Are you enjoying “Dare to Lead”? I find Brene Brown (for my taste) is often “hit and miss”. That said, when she’s a “hit”, she’s awesome. Curious to know your thoughts. Ⓜ️ary
Nice video, thank you. I am a make up lover and I know it is a very polluting industry in general. In Italy there is a nice organic brand (purobio) that is introducing refillable make up, but honestly is is hard to pan make up and buy the same product again. For Christmas a friend gave me an eye pencil by a brand called Sprout, when you finish it you can plant it and flowers should grow. I will let you know when I finish it.
I don't wear makeup. Immy you did a great job applying the makeup and it looks good. I think the lipstick is a little too bold. I picture you in a softer shade.❤
I loved this video! I just got a Trestique mascara and i'm anxious to try it, I wish they had a waterproof version of it because if I don't use a waterproof one, it gets alllllll up under my eyes. I usually use arrowroot powder to set my foundation & bronzer because I also have oily skin!
Looks gorgeous and love how compact/inclusive it all is! Do you know anything about the ethics of the brand? Particularly mica, which often uses child labor for the mining of it. For this reason I’ve stuck with Ethique up to this point but I’d loveeee to explore this brand. It looks much more practical/travel-friendly.
Actually, I emailed them and received this on their reply!! “Our manufacturer is an active member of the Responsible Mica Initiative, which commits to responsible sourcing practices. This includes eradicating child labor and working to improve the livelihood of communities within a supply chain in India.”

I'd really appreciate if you could put the shades that you got in the description? I'm struggling to go back and find the time stamps for where you mention them.
When you added the lip color, I instantly thought that you looked like Snow White! I was excited to hear that they have eyebrow products! I’m in need of a brow product, and I might just look into Trestique for new makeup 😊.
For the ‘liquid eyeliner’, you could try using an small pointed or angled eye brush and swipe that off the mascara wand. then apply it like a gel eyeliner. I reckon you could use the brown contour / bronzer stick as eyeliner or in the eye crease (assuming they don’t smudge as much). Same goes for the blush and highlighter as eye shadows. :D (unless they specifically say to not use on eyes) you could try using arrowroot powder as a setting powder? Idk if that could work 🤷🏻♀️ I do find that most sustainable makeup really do lack in the accessibility / affordability area. And that the majority of them still needs to work on inclusive shades (different undertones for deeper and olive tones??). Granted it may be a budget issue if they’re a smaller company. But I think even if you can only afford drugstore makeup (which is honestly me half the time too), consuming less things where you don’t really need it is still sustainable too. :’)
Not a makeup gal either....I was lost when u said a lot of things ...wasn't sure if I got lost because your calming voice......great video and you look amazing....great everything 💯....love the renting route wish I would of done that for my bros wedding.....anything you post I love to watch.....hope you have a great time at the wedding....be yourself everyone would love you.
Thank you for the detailed review! I always want to try new products but not sure how the quality is and also working through what I already have. I will definitely consider this brand when it is time to purchase more
Hello Immy! My name is Mary-Claire and I am commenting from Los Angeles :)) and I just wanted to recommend the book ‘Having and Being Had’ by Eula Biss. It is really beautiful and educational at the same time. Basically, it is an analysis of capitalism and greed what those things mean through the lens of the author’s experience when she bought her first home. I hope you enjoy it! Also love the makeup look you nailed it😊
You look so lovely, Immy! Thank you so much for showing this makeup routine and these products. It's so nice to see how they apply and how to use them. Right now, I mostly use Elate, but I'm always looking to try something new. I really like to have a natural look, too, so this was super helpful :D
I have been really loving Izzy zero waste, salt new york, la bouche rouge and a few other brands. I have dedicated videos about reviewing zero waste makeup! I would love if you would check it out
Currently reading mists of avalon by marion zimmer bradley, really interesting fiction book about women during the time of Arthur, kind of magical but sort of sad as well really great read though
Thank you for trying these out! I have been looking for a sustainable mascara. A Little Life wrecked me! Such a beautiful and tragic book. Can’t wait to read more by this author
I have some sustainable mascaras that I LOVE. One is from La Bouche rouge (refills available, even the wiping ring and mascara wand are made of plant based materials). ANother is from Izzy zero waste beauty ( packaging is medical grade stainless steel, and you can send the products back to the company to be refilled in a subscription type service). Both are BEAUTIFUL
You did a very good job and the lipstick really pulled everything together beautifully. 🥰 It suits you very well! I personally never heard of this brand, but that's probably because it is very niche - which I like. ☺
Stunning! Is the wedding based in the UK, USA or elsewhere? Will you be styling your hair and using accessories you have, borrow from someone, hire or purchase second hand?
Hi Immy, loved this chill video. I think that lipstick shade looks great on you, and I really liked the brow gel as well. On video, it didn't seem that warm to me. Love the way you do your eyebrows, and your whole face looked hydrated and fresh. Maybe do get a translucent powder though for the wedding to make sure your make-up stays in place, especially since you'll be nervous :) And P.S., I get nervous all the time in social situations, and especially when meeting new people!
You asked about other zero waste youtubers doing beauty related content, maybe look into GitteMary Johansen :) She might not be testing a lot of different brands but has some favorites.
I’m so disappointed that you can only by these products in the US as I have been looking for cream-based cosmetics and the fact that they are refillable, zero waste and ecologically sustainable is just perfect. If you ever get to hear of a similar cosmetic brand based in Europe I would be very grateful. You looked very lovely by the way and my personal opinion is that you don’t need a powder as I love that fresh, dewy look without it. Quite understand that you are nervous about meeting your partner’s friends for the first time but am sure they will love you.
Hopefully you can get a discount code if it comes to the UK. I would like to try the cream eyeshadow, I've only found them in single use packaging and they're the only thing I can reliably do with my eyesight and poor makeup skills! I'm reading Inconvenient Daughter by Lauren J Sharkey at the moment, which is beautifully written. I couldn't get through A Little Life. I stopped at the end of part one, with a bit of a happy ending and have decided I'm done!
This 💄 suits you well - you look damn hot, girl! :) About the wedding. I have been to 3 where I did not know anyone except my partner or even just the bride/groom. As I travel a lot, I just consider such situation as when I am in a new place-hostel/pub/park/concert/event, with the pro fact, that most likely all people will be in good mood and open, as all of them came for a weeding. And also-there always might be more people like you, that do not know a soul, except the partner. So no worries, it will be for sure nice and fun, I'm sure:) Cheers to you, and I recommend that lipstick for that occasion!
The packaging to me seems gimmicky and cheap. Even if this was more affordable, I dont think I would choose this brand. They seems so akward to use, and especially the mascara wand was so short!
Does each pencil come with a lid? Could I put the lipstick in my handbag, for a night out? I have seen this brand at a local perfumery in Hamburg, Germany.
It CAN mean that. The problem is that clean is not a scientific term, so if the company doesnt explain exactly what THEY mean by clean, then we as consumers will never know, we can only guess.
You are so beautiful with your bouncy curls. Great video. You will do fine at the wedding - wear something you feel comfortable in, don't eat something that bloats you the day before and know that all that people long for right now is more love. And the wedding is the manifestation of eternal love. The spirit of love will guide you.

Idk if that could work 🤷🏻♀️
I do find that most sustainable makeup really do lack in the accessibility / affordability area.
Would have like to have seen a later clip to see how well the makeup lasted as sometimes makeup makes you oil or melts and can get cakey.
Beautiful!! And now I’m on their site considering my options 😉
Thank you for the detailed review! I always want to try new products but not sure how the quality is and also working through what I already have. I will definitely consider this brand when it is time to purchase more
This kind of review is so so helpful, thank you!
Also love the makeup look you nailed it😊
How long did the makeup last on? As someone working in the office I need to feel confident it will stay in good shape for all day. 😊
Great video. Love all the items u used, especially the bronzer and eye brow pencil/ gel.
Looks great, Immy!
Can you review mad hippie as well? Loved this video
You asked about other zero waste youtubers doing beauty related content, maybe look into GitteMary Johansen :) She might not be testing a lot of different brands but has some favorites.
Love this video and I love how you say what beauty people tell me 😀
Which shade did you use in trestique foundation? 🙌❤️
Would’ve loved to order some as a makeup artist gutted you can’t get it in the uk
What shades did you buy? I am fair like you, and thought that might be helpful. :)
The makeup looks really good! I'm still really skeptical about its "sustainability." Still looks very plastic-y to me, even if refillable. 🤷🏻♀️
i kind of feel this way too... i have tried so many beautiful makeup brands that are so much more lux and sustainably packaged than this one
I love the final look!!
Thank you.
I love my clean vegan makeup products but I find them to be a little heavy on the oil
You look stunning! Great review :)
I rented my wedding dress! Totally worth it!
Thanks for sharing
I would love to see more videos like this 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 please and thank you
Been waiting for this video for so long!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Looked beautiful!
I attended a wedding once, where the venue was $10,000 a night and $500 a head. There was a good 200 people there.
Immy, you look lovely!
Excellent job 💖💖💖
Beautiful!
I am reading why we eat too much after Leena norms recommended it
Thank you for using “smooth” rather than “smudge.” Anyone else hate the word smudge? Just me? Lol! 😝
The lipstick won’t look good if you don’t have makeup on but if you use it with makeup it’ll be fine
Real techniques makes a biodegradable beauty sponge. I like mine!
Gorgeous!
there are only 12 skin shades and 5 are for brown girls
Clean means no harmful ingredients
Contour, blush and highlighter can be use for eyes and lips too..
💚🌱
💜💜❤️❤️
Red lips are not for you🤭
It looks great on her.
Wrong.
@@EmmaLemmon You're wrong.
@@inbetweenworlds "Wrong" was meant to be a reply to Kedi Cat. I think that cool shade of red looks great on Imme. Am I right? 😅
@@EmmaLemmon I think you’re wrong
