This is worth its weight in diamonds! The aircraft, Ted's stream and footage. Very rare to witness & a tremendous capture, for people to enjoy for years to come. Thank you Ted Coningsby, sir & Nikos ❤
I live on Airline Drive in Bossier City, Louisiana maybe 3 miles from Barksdale. LA on the tail is from Barksdale. I see them everyday. That sound is unique. Just like the squadron of A10's we use to have here💪🇺🇲
Right time, Right place, Right Teddy Bear. The Follow Me truck gives you a sense of the size of that thing!!! Thanks for another great video Ted, Nikos and Co.
I am so glad to see that Fairford is being used as it intended. I remember the first day I arrived at Fairford to restore the base for refuelers. A few others and I arrived to a run down base closed in 52 and left 6 years later to a revitalized active base. My family and I enjoyed our stay in UK . RETIRED Msgt Robert F Farrell. Proud of our country and accomplishments.
Just look at this video clip of the mighty 8 engined B52H approaching to land at Fairford .They are quite rare to see in the UK thank you very much for this on the stream Nikos.❤
Station there in the 90s. Had no assigned Aircraft. So we got new KC 135 ever four months . Here you a story. The B52 came once a year for war games. The fog on that island is unlike any you ever see. Shortly after the Marine barracks was bombed. All England put popup steel rods at ever gate. I was a fuel specialist. So our building was on the back side of the base. They were putting our defense rods. So our gate was closed. We were told by security to go to next gate di the road. My wife was in the car with me that day. That gate would let you into the taxi way in order to get to our section that day. The cop apparently had no idea there was a B52 sitting on the taxi way. That morning the fog was pea soup thick. I turned onto the taxi way at very slow pace on the way to my job station. As we drove down the taxi way in the fog. Suddenly the fog chance to real dark. It was about 7 that morning. I slam my brakes to stop. I was almost within 15 feet of driving under wing of the B52 with my private car. As a supervisor I drove around it to the section and told our fuel dispatcher about the B52 on the taxi way and have security closed that gate until the fog lifted. RAF Fairford never had more than four to six on base at anytime. So the back taxi way never had parked aircraft. Back then the queen had to be call for permission because there was a town on each of the runway. The fog lifted just long enough to taxi out. And before he got to the runway it set back in worse than before. What a way to start my work day.
I helped close down RAF WOODBRIDGE & RAF BENTWATERS in 1993. And landed in Riyadh November 1990. It makes your heart pound to see a flying formation of C-5 Galaxies and B-52's!!! America has Might. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🏁
this has to be the most amazing plane I have seen in ages so graceful but so big. But to be able to watch this with Ted and Nikos is outstanding thank you so much for all your amazing work thank you Ted and Nikos amazing ❤❤❤
Nice! I guarded 3 models of B-52s during my first 9 years in the USAF in Strategic Air Command (1976-1985) - 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 “G” models at Blytheville AFB (closed now, but I visited the former base 2 months ago), “D” models at/on Guam, and “H” models at Minot AFB. Soooooo many takeoffs and landings, MITO launches, and war games. Watching the awesome B-52 never gets old. SALUTE!!!
What a day this was, surely the best gut feeling location change of all time! Amazing show and one I have already revisted to watch the touch and go's we saw as well (think I would love to be the driver of that AMG, that would be something..... Does Ted have a gut feeling on lottery numbers at all, i'd be interested to hear his thoughts on that please 🤣aside that, amazing day and great dedication to bring us the best viewing experience possible, who needed LN with this in the offing?! Superb show Ted & Nikos, keep on listening to that gut Sir, it's done you proud.
What a bit of kit!! A rare sighting of this bird. Stood next to one at Duxford, I never realised in reality how HUGH! they really are. Make an almighty screech as it came in too land. The Demons have landed. Then it taxi's back ❤😍🇺🇸 a proper intimidating view. Glad it's a friendly visit. Look how the wings cause aircraft to lean. Just amazing sight. Well done 👏 Nikos, well done 👏 Ted for bringing this into our living rooms. BEAST! on UK 🇬🇧 soil. Nice 👍
I use to live by Blytheville Air Force Base (now Decommissioned) which was a S.A.C. Base, It was home to a B-52 Group, as kids we would watch them fly over a friends cotton farm, sometimes C-130's would fly over and dip their wings to us when we waved at them, they flew at around 500 Ft. AGL, Gotta love childhood memories.
Seeing and getting to fly in the #1 Boeing B-52 that NASA has at Drydan Lake/Edward's AFB was truly cool, they have been in Service since the 60's and getting upgraded will carry them to the 40's possibly the 50's. It still scares the Hell out of our Enemies
Thanks so much for filming the B-52 yesterday Nikos. It is one of my favorite aircraft of all time. Beautiful aircraft and awesome sound as it comes in for landing. Ooo yeah bro 🤘🏻😊
My father passed away 5 yrs ago at 85 , he spent 21 yrs in SAC as a fire control technician on this great bird , the B 52 with modern technology has turned out to be a great platform, talk about tax payers getting a great bang for a buck, it's turned out to be more than that .🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 PS hope he got a lift to Heaven on a Buff.
WOW impressive i know that I missed it live today but it was still its to see it live with you and the TCS family yesterday was just awesome. Thank you Teddi and Niko's for your amazing and best aviation channel ever 🥰👍💯😃
I missed it live and so greatful to watch the catch up footage. That’s a seriously impressive aeroplane! How would a defender bring that down from 55,000 feet?
The B-52 (all models) are called the StratoFortress. The KC-135 is the StratoTanker. The B-47 was the StratoJet. All called "Strato" because they flew in the Stratosphere.
Referring to this magnificent symbol of freedom as buff has never been appropriate and needs to stop when the spectacular new J model becomes operational

America's Big Stick. Each one carries 70,000lbs of ordnance (same as 5 WW2 Lancasters) with an 8,800-mile (over 14K Km) range, without refueling.

@@TedConingsbyYou're welcome
Not only is it a bomber it’s a tanker. 181,000 litres of fuel enough to cruise 13,840km. Amazing
The B-52H is a bomber only . No tanker.

Great work @Nikos and @tedconingsby

Its so powerful this bombardiers
Is it not called the B52 Stratofortress?
It sure is
When they get the new RR engines fitted it won't sound the same for sure.
Can be and has been used as a tanker in the past
Referring to this magnificent symbol of freedom as buff has never been appropriate and needs to stop when the spectacular new J model becomes operational
why is the landing assisted by parachute ?
Oiii oiii 🤙🏼 good question. The “Drag Chute” is used to minimise wear and tear on the brake systems of the B-52 as it’s such a heavy aircraft.
It’s a USAF base and it is one of a few that can host B-52s here due to the size of the runway
Momentum = Mass times Velocity. Velocity is time rate change of position. B52s have quite a bit of MV.
As old as this bomber is, how do the maintenance crews keep up with metal stress fractures? They must occur regularly correct?
B-52H “Stratotanker”?
