@Yarnhub … brilliant video, i hope you do a video about the Vulcan Bomer, where it scared every one at a air show / testing - when it flew and did a barrel roll.
Cold War dogfights are really cool. Their like some weird hybrid of WW2 and modern fights where it’s not quite BVR but it’s quite different from dogfights with guns. In my opinion that’s what makes them so cool.
@@thelittletanket689 True, modern dogfights aren't special. Just fire a missile and boom! No more enemy. Meanwhile WWII dogfights, you have to carefully aim and stuff.
@@LMV_Brick_Productions_Real , @thelittletanket689 Though I do respect your opinions I would say modern dogfights are a little more than missile go boom. When at BVR (Beyond Visual Range) you have the capabilities to defend against missiles by either cranking or dragging the missile to a lower altitude to bleed its energy. If you are to close to defend you can use counter measures such as chaff and flare with sharp maneuvers. If you enter dogfighting range with a bandit you can hug them and min range missiles like sidewinders. From there you can force a two or one circle fight while managing speed and closer to work your way to the rear of a bandit and get the kill. If you would like a video version of this explanation watch Growling Sidewinder he does dcs videos and explains dogfights really well with all types of aircraft especially modern. hope this allows you to love all dogfights as though modern are different they are still very cool.
I would love it if Yarnhub did a video on the Monchy 9 of Newfoundland. 9 men of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment positioned at Monchy-le-Preux during the Battle of Arras in 1917 hid behind shrubbery and defended the town from a German force anywhere from 200 - 300 men strong for 11 hours to prevent a German break through. I think it is a very cool and very underrated battle that sounds like the plot of a movie.
Lets all pay are respects for the u-2 one. The su-9 pilot who was supposed to kazicami And the u-2 pilot literally sacrificing himself for the children🥲
I have known Pardo since 1971 and have talked to him about this many times. This story has many detail errors, but we will just leave it at that. But I will say what he told me once, "People make a big deal about this but at the time you just do the best you can do". RIP LtCol Bob Pardo.
Very cool. I like how there are stories involving wins by both sides. I obviously prefer when WE(USA) wins, but that’s not always realistic. Many brave Americans lost dogfights, while some of them even lost their lives. Honor to them as well.
@@spooderboy You are damn right they did, my friend. I love me some England. Y’all have been there with us the whole time in war, peace, the arts, economics, etc etc etc. By the way, I like the accent(I am from Alabama so my accent kinda gives people the exact opposite of the impression that your accent gives to the speaker). I want to thank y’all for getting off of our asses after the conclusion of the War of 1812, though y’all still went rogue occasionally on that forced conscription into your Navy of virtually anyone you could run down with your vessels. I think y’all more than made up for it by providing us with Monty Python, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and by sharing your discovery(?)/development of radar with us. On a serious note, many brave British men and women have sacrificed their lives to support our individual and collective efforts to be strong, successful, free, and a response and a hedge to forces that would deprive us of those ends. Honor to them as well sir.
@chargree If you ever make the journey to England, come North, to Yorkshire, and there's a warm welcome here for you. Your wonderful sentiments are entirely reciprocated my friend.
I love your channel , I’m an adult, have studied war and historical moments during warfare, I have watched all the history shows about air battles, tanks , ground battles, this that and the third, I love it all, I had family who fought for the USA in ww2 and some were Mia for awhile until it was found out they were pows in a German war camp, luckily it was towards the end of the war and he came home, but your animation is better than most of the history channel shows, congratulations because I can tell you have taken much time and love making these vids

6:10 - It would be cool to know the cost difference between training 2 new airmen, if they abandoned them, compared to the cost of the 1 plane that would've been lost
I think the slightly jancky animation is endearing, and honestly yall make up for it with your cinematography. Had the feeling of triple A ps2 games and im all for that. You don't need photorealist cgi to tell a story. Ya'll keep grinding im here for it.
By war's end, the U.S. Air Force had lost a total of 528 F-4 and RF-4C Phantoms. When combined with U.S. Navy and Marine Corps losses of 233 Phantoms, 761 F-4/RF-4 Phantoms were lost in the Vietnam War
I believe that I've been here since just about day 1. Your skill as a story teller, a raconteur, is what makes your videos great. And your growing skills as an artist has been wonderful to observe. The wry inclusion of various nods to pop culture are always a treat, too. I love your landscapes. And you have a poetic style. Story 2. Sukhoi-22 is an export version of ground attack plane Sukhoi-17. It never been designed for air combat, they do had AAmissiles but only for protection, because they don’t have AA radar. So navy guys didn’t had much risk shooting them down.
Screw the haters. This site is amazing. Please continue. Amazing how the people who create nothing have everything to say. This is the future of documentaries. It starts somewhere, u !

personallly i think that some of the older animation has a certain charm to it, though the transition from cartoony to realistic was a bit bumpy at the start
Second story has some top gun references of when they flew by the ATC tower in the F-14 tomcat and the guy spilt his coffee. Remember the scene “YOU ASSHOLES DID A FLYBY OF MY TOWER AT 400 KNOTS”
I knew about Powers and the U-2 shoot down, but did not know the details from the Soviet side. Also, the Marine Corsair, I knew of it as markings on a plastic model, but not the story of its pilot. Great, thanks
At @05:00 The Phantom pushing the damaged Phantom makes me think about the F-86E of Capt.Robbie Risner pushing the damaged F-86E out of North Korean Airspace. They all made the incredible flights.
