Great episode and great follow up from the mentaliztion episode which left this enthusiast with questions, also liked the warm reflection on Sue Johnson
I find RF to be reminiscent of Carl Rogers' empathy, unconditional positive regard & congruence. Without holding these first, one could not begin to engage in RF. I wonder how closely related these are, if at all. Great podcast, I learned something new which is always exciting especially as someone who has been in school for so long it is refreshing to hear something new and inspiring.
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I agree that with empathy and that mindset, the patient can unfold aspects of their experience they might not have consciously known. Wow Dr. Puder. I’ve been waiting on this episode to drop and it’s definitely a new favorite! I’m going to find some time to really read through this research. I appreciate the head start!
Wow. I gained as much from this particular podcast as I did in an entire graduate course!
😂 I feel similar! Just doing my third listen today and still picking up more stuff
