Just about to do my first oil service on my Scrambler Icon this weekend, and this video saved me the pain of finding out halfway that I don't have a 14mm socket!! Thank you!!
Awesome man, so glad this is helping people! Good on you for doing your research first and not finding out midway through the job haha! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Have the same exact bike, I took mine for the first service to my dealership in Houston and I'm really glad I did because that looked like an absolute pain in the ass. I might end up changing it myself next time to save some money 300 plus dollars is kind of ridiculous. I'm about to uncork mine and get a decent exhaust having it flashed as well super excited. Enjoy your content man keep it up 👍
Nice man, I'm sure you're as in love with it as I am. Honestly, if you can spare the time, I'd highly recommend it. Or, at least every other oil change do it yourself, since all you'd need to do is just take off the skid plate, oil filter, and oil drain bolt. That'll save you some good money even just every other time. Nice man, what exhaust you thinking of? Appreciate it man, be sure to stick around for more;
Very nice, those are super clean. I'm so on the fence about an exhaust. My last bike was super loud, and I'm enjoying not having my eardrums blown out this time.
I would definitely tackle this one myself since this video is extremely helpful! Keep up the great content! I’m looking into getting a Honda monkey soon
Just a note and correction for the mesh filter. The proper part # for that aluminum gasket on the mesh filter cover bolt is #85250051A. The one you listed is the for the bolt on the bottom of the case directly below that mesh filter. Also, per the dealer service manual, the mesh filter only needs cleaned every other oil change.
Thanks for the note! Yes that is correct, only every other time. I figured I'd knock it out on the first one to be thorough after a motor is broken in.
I had the Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro ( prior to the sled coming out ) YES oil change was a pain “ now do a vid on air filter you will love that one ☝️ as well “ I don’t think 🤔 I seen a vid on that either . Great 👍 vid Paul from Australia 🇦🇺
Yes some people don't realize this is sort of the "second" round of an urban Enduro/motard for the scrambler! Oooh I haven't even looked into that yet, but I absolutely am intrigued now. I'm certain I'll make a video on that at some point. Thanks so much for watching, and be safe there in the Down Under!

I remember seeing this guy when I was looking at buying my bike. Absolute legend, and I love to see it! Hopefully it dispels the myth that these bikes aren't capable and pretty stout.
When draining the oil unscrew the oil filler cap. It helps with draining the oil. Otherwise there is always old oil left in there. It want hurt even if you crank up the bike for literally 1.5 sec. which help with complete oil draining. Other then that you did good. Thanks
Gaaahd, too much work just to oil change, if I get one, may probably find a way to route that exhaust , I like the bike, at the same time I like doing my own oil changes
So remember you don't have to do that full method every time, they recommend every other time. I don't know about you, but I don't ride my bike a ton, to the point where I won't have to change oil until really long intervals.
I'm looking to purchase the same bike literally tomorrow and you're calling it a 2021 the dealership is telling me it's a 2022 by the colors im curious if they have the same for 2 years in a row
I still love it. It's such a fun motorcycle, and I just am in love with the looks. It's okay, I knew the consequences. I'd rather have a bike with a good story and experiences than a perfect motorcycle.
I will now that you’ve saved me from the painful bits! Thanks so much for this, literally I will be doing it this weekend with your vid following step by step. I watched the whole vid but 0:20 was genius 😎👏
Thanks so much for the kind feedback! Glad to see people want to do their own maintenance. Going to try to put out more videos like this! Haha I knew most people wouldn't want to watch me blabber on, and just want the oil change.
Would change myself for sure. $300 oil changes don't work for me so good. Does changing your oil void your warranty? What is the warranty on this bike? Moot point really cause I'm hundreds of miles from a dealer. Great vid! Dream bike for me. Thankyou for sharing!
Some people even quoted $400 from their dealership..can you imagine?! I don't believe it will (but absolutely don't quote me on that). I talked to my rep at Ducati and he suggested doing it myself due to the large delay they have, then sold me the kit. Didn't make mention of it, but it does make me wonder, because they do have to reset the oil light themselves. I probably should know a definite answer, but I don't!
You probably skipped a lot of where I explained that I'm removing those other items so I can get to the mesh screen filter that is part of the oil change routine.
my 2021 desert sled had its entire engine burnt out with some carbon soup thing going on. i haven’t had it in over a month :’( i regret getting a ducati
@@BrunerTuner i don’t know the specifics yet, i get the bike back soon and ill let you know once i get the paperwork, but basically, everything inside the engine burnt to a crisp, and yes, covered under warranty, but still sucks not having my bike for over a month :(
Cleaned the filter with water?? Dude,. Brake cleaner would have been fine,. I'd never put water anywhere near oil but great video,. Job Very well done ✅. Edit. I would have filled replacement filter with oil before fitting it to help save a dry start up
I think you definitely took a ton of unnecessary steps but overall this is helpful. If you’re ever in Austin, we should meet up and ride. #DesertSledGang

Literally just hit 600 mile mark the other day & was putting off looking up a video,I now know why
I was putting it off because I knew I'd have to go to the dealership, or do this stuff 🤣 good luck with it!

How do you reset the oil service light??? Thanks
At the dealership, or if you have a computer scan tool that can read/reset the code.
How could you resist putting in a new exhaust? Or at least removing the cat and baffles? Such a mean sound when you started it back up!
Haha it's been a constant thought, but I'm enjoying having it not overly loud when I ride.
Thanks for this video! How did you reset the service light?
I did not, you've gotta have an ECU tuner or have the dealership do it :/
