- I booked myself into the white moon Hotel in Blackpool for an overnight stay.
UNFORTUNATELY, this Blackpool Hotel wasn't the as I for Trace of drug usage and the rooms are unbelievably dirty.
In my opinion this hotel called white moon Hotel is the worst hotel / b&b in bBlackpool.

You deserve a medal my friend staying in these what can only described as dumps. We used to go to Blackpool every year but stopped a few years back. There needs to be more frequent checks by the council and places like this should be shut down.

These are the kind of places the council PUT people in for emergency temporary accommodation, such as if you lose your house, a flood or something. I always bring Dettol wipes when staying in a hotel. Even a good one...I clean door handles, taps, light switches, tv remote, etc

Who on earth thought that room was an acceptable replacement. You literally went from an ensuite double quite clean and tidy crack den lol to a cess pit that I wouldn't put the fleas off a rat in to. Wow 😮great vlog Dan 😂

For the state of those rooms I even think £25 a night is too much. Absolutely filthy, drug paraphernalia, unsafe microwave, sheets that aren't even clean 🤢 It feels like basic human rights aren't even covered in that price. I can imagine they're not under any pressure to keep it to any sort of standard as their usual clientele probably don't care what state it's in! I'm shocked that places like this are even allowed to run as a business honestly.
it´s a disgrace. I´ve slept in cleaner areas out in the field whilst in the British army.
I mean honestly even some accomodation i slept in when on operations was at least kept very clean by us even if it was very old.

Loving these hotel videos 👍🏼 The second room…….it looks like they shoved you into a broom cupboard. The very least you should expect (no matter what you paid), is for the place to be clean. In this instance you paid for an en-suite with a double bed. You got a sink and a single bed. In a dirty room. Totally unacceptable.

Mate, I disagree with what you said about asking for miracles, it’s not too much to ask for a clean room, with fresh bedding, that should come as standard!. Me and the missus are happy you’ve brought the cleaning back on the vids, makes us chuckle/feel queasy at the same time 😂 can’t wait for your next one 👍🏻
Don’t blame you Dan re the cleaning tackle, when our kids were small and we took them on caravan holidays, the first thing I used to do was “ clean” wash the cutlery and pots that we would be using also take the pillows off of the beds and put our own on, I can honestly say that we always left the caravans cleaner when we left than when we went in. Also even if that room was only £25 a night, it should have been fit for purpose,that as you say was “ minging”
I'd have slept in my car rather than that 2nd room ,and the bed had been used and wasn't changed! 🤮🤮

There is nowhere in the country you could get a room as cheap as it is in Blackpool...they aren't going to be the best at that price point it is what it is better than staying out in the elements for sure

When using the black light on furniture and the wardrobe, it would be great if you showed the stains/marks and then tried to wipe them with a spray and cloth to demonstrate whether or not they can be removed.

These type of "bed & breakfast" places are for the good time party people, ages around 17- 25. Blackpool has had its day, and rapidly going downhill. I have been going there since i was little (maybe 4 years old), now i am 70. Theses places need a massive injection of cash to get them up to scratch, or demolishing to make way for newer, bigger hotels, but it seems that this will never happen, so the place just dies. Saying that, you can find these sort of places in every seaside resort and you dont have to look very far. As for cleanliness, you can always find dirt in everywhere you look, but some places are much worse than others, and we all know what happens in these cheap places, people only go to play one thing - 'moms and dads.' But good videos Dan, but i bet you keep your tents cleaner tan these hoteliers do their houses.
Absolutely awful. 🤢The very least you’d expect from even the most basic place , regardless of price or condition, is that it’s clean. Great videos 👍🏻

Oh my word I almost threw up. Everyone deserves a basic level of cleanliness, homeleess or not, British or not. Having to pay any amount to stay in a room like that is a total insult and whoever runs that hotel should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. They clearly take no pride in their business. I takes little to do a basic clean each day and a thorough clean maybe once a week!

The Blackpool Hotel videos are the best! You could do a whole channel on these hotels, super entertaining. I live here and always wonder about these types of dives up in the town. Loving the content! (and the selection of cleaning gloves 🧤🧤)
Every time you open the kettle at these places I always think "will he find any batteries in there" :p

It does not matter if you pay £10 a night or £100 a night, cleanliness is of paramount importance, and the homeless person argument is stupid, like I said you are a PAYING Guest you are paying money, not looking for some free shelter for the night.

I stayed in blackpool once, in the travel lodge across from bloomfield rosd stadium, we checked in snd went into the room snd there was empty kebab trays, half eaten burgers in cases, chips and cans lying all over the place, not to mention the bed stripped clean and the blankets all in a pile on the ground. Had to wait an hour for them to clean it. Had to threaten them with reporting them to head office for them to give us some free drinks while we were waiting for them to clean it.
What lovely rooms, great price and so clean.!! Off to book them for summer holidays now. Thanks for the tip mate !!

I love Blackpool but always stay at The Big Blue - not ridiculously priced and always clean and a fab breakfast.
But I am obsessed with youtube videos of dodgy Blackpool hotels! I'd never, ever stay in one, but it's amazing seeing what folk wil pay for such awful conditions.
Last October i was £59 a night at The Big Blue for 2 nights B&B for me and my son in a deluxe family room with park view!

I reckon most places like that get used by contractors who get a certain amount of expenses to use and go for the cheapest options. Most likely what keeps these places going and why the owners don't spend much on the up keep of them.

Worse B&B was in Liverpool, 30 years ago it wasn't clean bedding had remains human dirt holes in walls, carpets had been covered of chewing gum food was greecy i would have left but it was only because i was going to sci fi con and it was close by and my budget at the time as i stayed a better hotel but was 5 to 10 miles from venue so i stayed 1 night there 1st which now i had regretted in moving location .the owner or member of staff said this was last weekend before renovations started. Not sure if still there or change hands as forgotten the name of hotel was in.

No excuse for marks on the wall. They only need to keep a small brush and a tester pot handy for when the rooms cleaned between guests.
Hi Dan loving what you do, I think because you raised a little concern about the drugs weighing scale from the 1st room it seems like the owner has taken the huff with you and given you the worst room😮 the 1st room was far more superior.

I feel like the owner thought you planted that scale and wanted to punish you by putting you in that sh*thole! I’ve had similar experiences so i ain’t talking crap 😅😅
The shower looked like it ran from the domestic hot water with a cold/hot mixer valve, so slowing the water down would not make it hotter, unlike a standard electric heated type.

To be honest, i think the last room is about £25 worth. You were lucky to get the on-site for that to start with.
Years ago, we went to Blackpool (15 ish). we paid £45, basically for a bed a bit bigger than a single that was advertised as a double. We had to climb up the bed to get in it. You couldn't walk down the side of it, then had a space at the bottom, but you had to stand on the bed to close the door! We had to share a bathroom.
Got bitten to death, not sure if it was bed bugs or fleas.
Never been back since.
Sod staying there! I would be in the next taxi to Premier Inn etc

I'm glad I own a uv torch, it's seen some action, just like the stained wall in the room! I'd be afraid to go anywhere near that wall in case I came back from my mini break pregnant! Eeeeeewwww!
(I usually use travellodges on short stays away, they're not perfect but are at least likely to be clean.
I still clean the shower and the sink before use, I'd even do that in the Ritz, not that I'd ever spend their prices. I'm a little tapped, but not completely daft!

Dan stop apologising, you’re absolutely correct, the cupboard you were put in was way dirtier than the drug room, that bed had 100% been slept in, and I agree with you, I don’t care how much you paid; it’s irrelevant, the room should be clean and not a health hazard. Really, it’s ok for you, because you’re staying there to show the issues, but many poor children and families are put in these hovels and the landlords collect thousands of pounds from the council in housing benefit. It’s totally wrong and immoral, if you decide to open a B&B then you MUST provide a safe clean environment…this world really gets to me, I’m exhausted feeling furious all the time, everything is soooooooooooooo unfair. Those TV wires 😢😢😢😢 like what were they thinking 🤔 - I agree 👍 you should have stayed put, more so since they swapped out the bedding for new, seemed a slap in the face moving you to the broom cupboard 😮😮😮 - I like a bargain like most do, but even I would have struggled with that 😢😮 - you don't have to have fancy things to be clean, and that was utter filth, I'd be ditching the housekeeping team if I knew that the rooms were that rancid, although I guess they actually don't have one, I'm kinda thinking of what Breakfast may have been like, or I guess you could have used the microwave 😢😢😢😢😢😮

I think if you look in a 5 star hotel, you'll still find stain. Even your own house. Yes people don't mind their own stains, just stains from others.
These room reviews and B&B reviews make me laugh . At the end of the day it’s not like a caravan or hotel, you go to these places to just really sleep you don’t spend any significant times in these rooms s as long as the bed is comfortable and okay there should be no reason to complain for the price being offered

That second room isn’t even safe…let alone clean. A kettle over a bed???? Those wires were like a ball of wool after a kitten has played with it! And who TF shaves themselves in the bed?? Grim xx great video
Providing that 2nd room (IMO the 1st one wasn't terrible) in that condition to anyone is actually downright insulting, as you say could be for someone who saved for a holiday for months and that's the only thanks they get. Smh...
Blackpool Landladies are a law unto themselves 😁If I found drug paraphernalia I wouldn't be able to stay and the mattress is disgusting. even being offered a change of room, I would run away! Not supposed to leave water in a kettle between guests. I stayed in a low budget Hotel in Blackpool once, had to suffer it for the week because other places we could have afforded were full. Never would I do that again.
Try the Horizon in Brighton, I'd be interested in what you find.

The environment you sleep in whilst camping is far more hygienic than the room you're staying in. Absolutely disgusting, these places should be shut down, and what you see here is a reflection of how the owner must live.

Take out the coffee equipment ,cupboards ,TV, bathroom. Shelves and put in 2 sets of cheap bunk beds with 2 inch foam mattresses and dont forget 3 other tenant's
When I went to Blackpool in 2000 to do a summer season, I booked a week in a holiday flat in Foxhall. It was so bad that I left after 5 minutes. I wrote the money off. This hotel is Buckingham palace compared to that hellhole.

I would have very nicely, politely & apologetically insisted the lady come right back, as they had clearly forgotten to change the sheets, which is not acceptable. Absolutely unnacceptable. I am not fussy. I do not even need a TV, quite happy to read, but I do need clean sheets & pillowcases & pillows & a reasonably clean mattress & carpet, thankyou.
These places need shutting down. Like a food standards agency, we need an accommodation standards agency. Noone should be allowed to charge for this
70000 holiday beds and wide range of choices. Cheap.
But people with little money don't have 70000 choices.
