These channels always cover the same figures, even hard cores like Allison and Hardin. But to paraphrase one western writer, compared to Harry Tracy, Jesse James was a choir boy. His breakout and trail of carnage from the Oregon State Pen in Salem to Seattle is almost unbelievable: posses of twenty experienced law officers who quit as soon as they got near him. Killed half a dozen cops before a lucky shot hit him in an artery and he committed suicide near Wenatchee. The most vicious, fearless, crack shot in western history. But we get a dose (literally) from Calamity Jane? Please.
