      They might be viable if dealerships would install them and the steep price tag could be added to the car payment...if not?

    I liked number 6, the Chuck Box. It reminded me of camp box my family had when I was a kid. It was aluminum with small compartments. I like the Chuck Box better.

    Still attached to back is great for no wind days, but also needs to be easily detachable to be carried away from vehicle on windy days so smoky oils do not enter vehicle, at minimum carried by 2 people, but best with fold down legs with wheels, to be wheeled away by only 1 person. Also hatchback SUVs such as Subaru Outback or even Ford Focus need to have 8-10" high cook systems that slide out with platform on top to sleep on, yes it can be done, for 2-4 people.

    Outside of the Chuckbox(the most practical option) most of these seem like very expesive picinic baskets. The Euro models look cool, but I wonder about the build quality/durability. The Rivian is really intriguing, I'd love to have an all electric 4x4 truck but I think I'll hold off for a couple of years and see how they hold up in the backcountry first.

    • @MustSeeTech
      @MustSeeTech  5 років тому +3

      Thanks for sharing, Taylor! The Rivian intrigued me as well, but we still have to wait for a while before it becomes available. Plus, it is really the most expensive unit on the list as you'll have to get the truck first😂

  • @stephenhill2404
    @stephenhill2404 2 роки тому +1

    Many of these look really heavy to put into the back of your car and I'm not sure whether cookers and fridges are included in the prices. I use large plastic containers (totes) and some plastic drawer units that cost very little and can be loaded in one at a time with everything already packed inside. Add a cheap fold up table and chairs and you're set to go for not a lot of dollars, plus of course the cost of a cooker and fridge and some water containers.

    • @Urrelles

      Theyre cool but they seem to be $1000 - $2000 bucks too high. Especially when theres a huge community of stealth campers making these type of units for less than $1000 using items bought from Home Depot.
      But all camping equipment is 25% overoriced for the amount of usefulness you get.

      On May 25,2020 I purchased a 1988 Fleetwood Terry in immaculate condition. Only one owner. No mold, no leaks, roof is excellent, interior is spotless. I am not sure how I got so lucky. It has 6 beds. A bunk house in the back and two fulls up front. A full shower/tub. A 4 burner stove with Oven. Lots of storage. The floor was a yellow small tile that was very clean. I recleaned the TT and covered the floor in a dark grey/brown wooden stick tile. Thick version, very nice. I changed all the wall paper. I bought two nice back splashes from home depot. They were too big so I cut one in half and covered both sides around the stove. Only thing I did not like was the low laying faucet. So I ordered one that sits up, from Etrailer online. It came with two 20 gal propane tanks. I ordered two new 30 gal tanks and filled them at Uhaul for a total of $54. I also bought a 40 gal tank tote(Barker) for about $250. I made all new curtains. Took old style down. I am currently re covering the cushions. I am doing all the upgrades myself. Ive bought 4 inch foam pads for the bunks. Ive bought mattress pads so all the beds can be soft and cushee. Ive bought Duvet's and filled with blankets. I even leveled the TT myself. Ive never had a TT before. Ive never done any of this before, but I am succeding and very happy with my decision to move out of my apt paying $1000+ a month to paying $3,800 cash and never paying rent again. My AC gets perfectly cold and I cleaned my filters. When I am done with upgrades I will have a mural painted on the entire house. Something gurly lol I ordered an ice maker from Amazon. All my lights and light covers look new and they all work. I have an awning. It was open when I first went to look at the TT. Only thing close to the house there are little tiny holes in one line. Ill figure out how to seal that. In sure an easy fix.
