    I find clear plastic bins even better. And keeping cast iron pan over thin Gsi pan better for cooking.

    Great video! I still think a fridge is a must, especially now that theyr cheaper in price than they were a couple of years ago

      Don’t get me wrong, I DO want one eventually! What’s your setup? And how do you power yours, if you have one?

      The fridge may be cheap! How do you suggest to power a 75l fridge for 3 days of cloudy weather?
      Cheers, r 🙃🙃🙃

    Great setup and well explained! I have a very similar setup, but almost all my stuff came from thrift stores. They are a great source for gently used camping and cooking items for cheap.

    Very well done. I have always been a minimalist when it comes to overlanding, mainly because I am too cheap and not rich enough LOL. Beem in Montana for almost 30 years, but am from Lake County, Ca.

      Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it 🙏🏽. When the overlanding craze started getting more popular, I was feeling like I had imposter syndrome because I didn’t have a fridge and drawers. But I’m a minimalist, too, and enjoy the outdoors just as much.
      By the way, I visited Lake County for the first time during this past Mother’s Day weekend. We camped at Clear Lake!

    Love it! I really dislike all the expensive shwag and gadgets. It gets to the point that one should just buy an RV. All the gear people use takes away from the "roughing it" aspect of camping. Thanks for keeping it OG!😆

    Good video. I got tired of the deep bin method and went to shallow / one layer FR wolf bins - the height of my magma pot set. Then last summer went a step further to design/build a chuck box (camp kitchen) that has a flip down counter (& shelves) and fits behind 3rd row Pathfinder. On the wetcoast taking things out of a bin and setting them on wet surfaces gets old as does packing away in rain. Getting a hanging utensil roll keeps more things up and off precious counter space.

    Thank you so much for breaking down all your setup and sharing the links! We have too many bulky items so we are overdue on a more efficient cooking setup.
    Do you have any recommendations for a first aid kit?

    • @HellaAdventures
      @HellaAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Hi Esme, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment 🙏🏽. My setup has worked great for us. I hope you get inspired for your setup!
      As far as first aid kits, I’m trying to work on a video for that. I personally have the standard version of this kit from MyMedic:
      mymedic.com/collections/first-aid-kits/products/myfak-firstaidkit?variant=39348827521120
      It is a little pricey, but for remote travel, it’s best to cover your bases as much as possible.

    Great video. Just went camping 2 weeks ago so I could relate. Do you have a recommendation on good foldable chairs?

    • @HellaAdventures
      @HellaAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Hey Mark! It depends what your looking for. I use a foldable camping chair by REI like this:
      www.rei.com/product/217994
      Real sturdy fabric, have had them for 5+ years without any fraying, and I can have drinks 🍺 on both arm rests 😆
      If you’re looking to save space, I also have this packed in my Jeep:
      amzn.to/3Cah9PY
      But if I were to splurge, I’m interested in trying out a Cliq since it packs small, but it’s kinda pricey:

      @@HellaAdventures Thanks for the rec Rex! We tagged along with our friends and just went to a camping ground in Pismo Beach. It was like a camp park. The cool part was that people could drive their trucks on the beach, which was fun.

      Front Runners are compact / heavier duty. GCI’s compact Pico chair or iclimb’s foldable chairs are similar and look lighter. Costco’s cheap equivalent of Helinox Sunset are comfortable but take time to set up and pack up. But even more compact. Lots of knock-offs much cheaper than Helinox.
