Was surprised about the lack of discussion about the yacht scene. But the ludes is kind of low hanging fruit. What else is there to say about it? Great acting, comical, and anxiety-inducing.
Also he says, “people don’t think of Scorsese movies as funny…” Ummmm, what? Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino all have many extremely funny scenes. Tarantino said when he saw Raging Bull in the theater, had the audience reaction during the film been recorded, one would assume the audience was watching a comedy based off of all the laughter. The guy in the middle looks exactly like Spencer Gilbert from Screen Junkies.
To many factual inaccuracies about the making of the movie.
Sorry but I can't take a rewatchables show about this movie seriously that doesn't even talk about the FBI scene on the yacht or the ludes scene. Really?
Was surprised about the lack of discussion about the yacht scene. But the ludes is kind of low hanging fruit. What else is there to say about it? Great acting, comical, and anxiety-inducing.
Wolf of Wall Street was shot on film for the day and digital at night. So it was primarily shot on film. Fennessey always fucks up.
He has two great comedies, King of Comedy and After Hours.
@@margarinetaintedgreen8140 You're mostly correct but I hesitate to call The King of Comedy an actual comedy lol. It's more genuinely disturbing than his crime movies.
@@Kurlandobloom I hear you on that. Rupert’s scenes in the lobby trying to get a meeting with Jerry and when he brings that poor woman with him to Jerry’s actual home when Jerry shows up are so cringe-y. However, the scene where Rupert is recording his “audition tape” in the basement and his mom keeps yelling from upstairs to keep it down and Rupert hits stop on the tape recorder and yells indignantly, “MOOOOOOOM!!!” cracks me up every time.
