I’m gonna be in Australia in May/June. I’m not gonna do it just because I don’t wanna spend the money on it. That bridge climb looks fun but expensive. I will be spending a lot more money on trains, crisscrossing Australia. Going from Sydney to Perth, and back on a train called the Indian Pacific. And then going from Darwin to Adelaide and back on a different train called The Ghan Not sure if you’ve heard of these, but they’re not like a typical passenger train. They’re more like a cruise ship. We stop along the way and visit the sites in Australia to get a full experience of Australia and the outback.
Awesome video! I've lived in Sydney for 30 years and my wife and I did the bridge climb probably 20 years ago (We did it once in 2003 and once in 2005). Glad to hear it's still great. Would love to do it again :D
We say “experience over stuff.” Do it if you can. Awesome video guys. I was in Sydney for only 24 hours thanks for showing us these incredible views. ~Cara 😊 Always love the bloops.
I did this climb in 2009 with my 2 daughters to celebrate being cancer free after having breast cancer in 2008. We did the twilight climb. City lights came on as we climbed down.🎉❤
The bridge walk was briefly considered for an upcoming trip until sticker shock set in. The fallback plan is my usual helicopter flight which is a third cheaper than the bridge climb at $250AUD and will allow photography. Thank you for the recommendation to visit the Pylon Lookout. The Sydney Tower was visited on a previous trip with disappointment over not being able to carry a camera on the skywalk.
It's very pricey, but once in a lifetime. I'm already losing weight and getting fitter, via walking, with the Bridge Climb as a goal...not the only goal, of course, but an achievable goal. I'm willing to pay the money to say, on my eventual death bed, that I did something, and achieve a goal I spent most of my life thinking was unachievable for me...I'm 51 (I'll be climbing the day after my 52nd birthday in Nov). Money comes and goes, experiences like this, achieving personal goals like this, only occur once and stay with you longer than the price has been forgotten.
That is amazing!! You will do so great, I believe in you! And you are so right... paying that amount of money was painful, but money comes and goes... experiences last forever ❤❤
Its so worthwhile to do the bridge climb. Always tell people/friends to save up and do it at least once. I thought once would do it for me but I have done it 3 times😅 preferred the afternoon climb; dawn is risky as on ours,it was foggy and twiglight the view not so clear.
@@samandnick since you have done The Bridge Climb, you should now experience a hot air balloon ride. Camden is a good place but the best views is the ride over Gold Coast hinterland. Cheers and Best wishes to you both.
Only 3 bridges in the world you can climb. Sydney is by far the best. However, if you’re ever in Brisbane, the second best climb is there, and considerably cheaper. Prices start from $99.
No, unfortunately not. You are not allowed to bring anything, including your cell phone! But the guide takes photos and will take a little video if you ask him!
I just heard on the news a Connecticut bridge collapsed after a cargo ship hit it. Its on video u can see the cars with the headlights falling down with the bridge just absolutely horrendous footage.
As an Aussie would I do the over priced tourist bridge climb? Not in a million years. What I would do, and have done, is climb the south eastern bridge pylon ($20ish), and if that wasn’t enough height, go to the much ‘higher’ observation deck of the Centrepoint Tower (aka Sydney Tower). Both of those offer 360 degree views over Sydney, spend as long as you want and take your own camera too. Bridge walk? Great to screw dollars out of tourists, being a local, no. Cheers,
What you’re describing are worthwhile activities, but the there’s no comparison. Since you haven’t done it you don’t know. You’re not presenting fact, only your singular opinion.
I haven’t done the climb? You are making and assumption, you are wrong, completely wrong. What I haven’t done, is ‘paid’ for the overpriced bridge climb, I was given a free gift voucher many many years ago (15+ years ago). I stand by what I said, I wouldn’t pay the overpriced tourist fee for the climb. Think again dumbo. Cheers,
Nope with my ankle, I would NOT walk that many steps going up so high, no thanks and then walking down them. It may have a wonderful view at the top but getting there and back, no thanks.
But if you put things into perspective its still better then paying 250k per person to go down and see the remains of the Titanic only for your dinky sub to implode!
I would like to walk over the coathanger but it is far too expensive. It's fine for tourists as a once in a lifetime experience. If the prices were lowered then they might attract repeat business from us locals. I suggest using the pedestrian crossing on the bridge as it has great views and it's free. The pylon at the southern end is also reasonably priced and gives good views of the city.
I agree it was very very expensive and definitely a once in a life time thing. They should offer some kind of discount or offer it to locals for a heavy discount!
Would you do this? Have you done this? Let us know below! 👇👇👇

Totally worth it. Did it over a decade ago. Great memory.
@@NickP16Oh my goodness! You will love these trips. You will see parts of Australia that many don’t get to see. Enjoy!
doing the ultimate climb in two weeks time - cant wait!
Going on the ultimate climb next year.

That's so cool! We loved Sydney so much! Hopefully it brought back some fun memories for you! 😍
fun and interesting video! the bridge tour looks scary but i would like to do this someday bucket list!

It was a tough decision but we still don't regret it! 🙃
It's very well managed, very safe. Amazing piece of engineering, the size and views are amazing
We thought the same thing! It is truly magnificent!
Your content is like a magnet- It's both informative and entertaining. Keep up the fantastic work!😊👍
Thank you so much!! that means so much to us 😍😍
Yes. But only once in a lifetime is enough for experience. Expensive because it’s very safe and well organised😊.
I agree, once was plenty but it is for sure a MUST DO!
This is on my bucket list
Totally should be! We weren't sure it was going to be worth the money but we are so glad we did it!

Well done on beating cancer. Xxxx

It was SO much fun!!!
Not cheap to do, but this is a Highlight while visiting Sydney 👍
So true! Nick was not wanting to pay it but said it was well worth it after we finished!
Great video.

I loved my Bridge climb but it was in the late 1990's to the price was just less than AUD $100 per person.
Woooow less than 100 each would have been VERY nice! Hopefully you can do it again someday!

Oh that is so good to know!! I wish we did that when we were in Brisbane!
Sydney was so smokey that day due to no wind and all the reduction burning around in the bushland areas has settled across the city.
It was so bad 😰 And I ran the Sydney marathon a few days later! Luckily by the time the race came, most of the smoke had gone away!
Are you allowed to film on the Sydney bridge climb?
No, unfortunately not. You are not allowed to bring anything, including your cell phone! But the guide takes photos and will take a little video if you ask him!

We did! So so sad! It isn't far from Connecticut but so sad, we hope everyone is okay!
Baltimore, Maryland not Connecticut. March 26, 2024 at 1:28 a.m. EDT.
Where are you from?
Hi there! We are from California in the US! 💛
I did the Bridge climb in 2004 it was $90 or something like that lol
Wow!!! That would have be nice! Nick debated on the price for 2 days before we did it 😂😂

It was quite exhilarating, if I must say!
I know many locals that have done it and said it was worth every cent. So each to their own I guess

Totally No. Overpriced out of bounds for ordinary people. Walk across for free. Catch a ferry underneath. 😮
