The only thing I don’t like about Time is that I don’t have one. Truly a work of art! I feel that Allied an American brand is also making stunning rock solid and high tolerance frames!
Tony Karklins who is now the new CEO of Time who is reviving the brand was actually one of the founders of Allied cycles. They're now building a new factory in South Carolina to bring the resin transfer mold manufacturing process to the USA. The Gravel Ride podcast did an interview with Tony and it is really worth a listen.
I've got an ADHX and the quality is impeccable. Only frame I've had where the instructions explicitly say not to face anything as it's been done at the factory.

Great video. My first quality bike was a TIME VXRS built around 2005. Have ridden it all over Ireland north and south , France , Italy and Spain including Mallorca. In all that I never saw another similar bike!! It has been beautiful to ride while being fast and very comfortable. I still have it and will never sell. I updated recently with a Pinarello F and thought with the passage of so many years I would be blown away with a great difference in every aspect. In truth I didn’t find that which says a lot for the TIME quality in the first place.
Looking forward to seeing the ADHX video. It is top of my list as my next No1 bike. Fascinated to know how it rides as I am an old school steel/rim brake guy.. but TIME has caught my attention and opening my mind to moving to a modern carbon/disc brake world.
What an absolute beauty! Now I see what all the fuss is about! Their methods of carbon layup surpass most small aerospace companies for high-end moulding. Lost wax techniques are mostly used for making fine jewellery, a jewel of a frame indeed!

The 'cool' part of all this is that Time will be in the US and manufacturing frames here in the near future. They will have the option of working with US made carbon fiber and a whole new process with carbon fiber as well. They have had great quality for a long time, and most likely many here can attest to that as well.
Amazingly so I haven't seen them other than on their website and almost instantly came to the conclusions the mechanic in the video did. Simply a masterpiece above all other banged-up-together frames in some of many Chinese factories where even popular brands have their pieces weaved together and charge us significantly more for a frameset than Time does. In fact Time framesets retail at the price a Pinarello would be only if on a really good sale.
Thank you for the great video! Time definitely deserves more content. I just purchased an RXRS Ulteam and I’m excited to get that on the road. Looking forward to the Scylon content.

The Time was and is still the most complete two wheeler I've ridden
Now that’s what I call a review. Excellent. A Time bike is still on my list. When you become a dealer I’ll book a bike fit with you and decide from there.
I routed cables though the BB of a ADH21 (same BB area) with 2 BB cups and bearings in place. Without the central tube this is easy to do. If you want to use a sleeve between cups or one piece BB make sure to install a liner so you can swap inner cables easily.
@Pablo_Coach I have used Jagwire shift liner. 6m per pack (originally for Nokon cables) but they also have sets with 2x brake and 2x shift cable liner.

Funny thing is how brands like Pinarello, Trek and Specialized charge what they are charging but doesn’t come close when it comes to manufacturing as the lads over at Time

I ride an old Look kg361. I bought many years ago as a frame. As you say a very steel like ride. It is such a great ride that I have only been tempted by the 585 and Time frames which were far more expensive. I have to agree the finish and attention on Time frames are exceptional. Sad how the bigs have spent out or pushed these superb builders pretty much out of pro cycling. That said the big guys make pretty good stuff.

OMG this is actually my second video of you that I'm watching about TIME and I am in love, with TIME that is lol, although you do an amazing job on thesee videos, TIME should pay you lol!
Time bikes have a special place in my heart. I previously owned a RXR VIP and my gosh, that was sublime. I am a bit sad that they did away with the threaded BB's in favor of PF.
The quality of Time engineering is, dare I say it, timeless 🙄. I had a VXR over 20 years ago, and I’ve had Time forks on a TVT and Vitus over 30 years ago. Always been superb quality. You’d do well to become a dealer I think, matching a quality product with a quality service
@@Mapdec Completely agreed re: being a dealer. I've been doing a bit of research on Time and it's hard to find a UK dealer - especially a reputable one. What would really be the icing on the cake is if said dealer also had Cycle to Work/Cyclescheme...I'd be there in an instant!
Please push on and get that dealership. The UK definitely needs some. By the time you've sorted that out ,i should have saved enough to buy one, i'll be your first customer.
@@Mapdec You can get Time in the UK now. Already been to my local shop. I was considering a ADHX and my local shop could get a frame for me to look at. I decided against the ADHX as all road and gravel option for what I think will be the same reason as Paul will discuss on his up coming ride review.
Ok, finally convinced myself. Just bought this exact frame in XL, ultegra di2, campy bora wto 45 wheels, deda finishing kit. Hope it's as good as you say!
That thing is truly a work of art as it cites style elements from former times, when the backend was finished with eg. chrome, as my first frame (a Gianni Motta), just transferred into modern tech and materials. The fact that someone with your expertise can be put to awe in terms of build-quality speaks for itself. Very nerdy, but lovely to listen to your enjoyment, drooling over that thing.
Your prediction for an actual gravel bike has come true. ADHX 45 thanks to you. I just bought an ADHX at a nice discount. All road, best in the Biz? Thanks for your expertise. 🤘
I was sold on the Look 765 Optimum. A few weeks ago I saw the Alpe d'Huez frameset in pink. I know that look and color not the greatest reason for choice of bike, but any and all research told me it's a great bike. Now your glowing admiration as well. Bonus, availability in USA, and they will ship frameset with components still in boxes for me to assemble myself...via email they said (at the time) I could be the first haha for the Hambini bottom bracket. I will be waiting impatiently for the rest of your Time series, especially the review of Alpe d'Huez transformation with existing components. Great idea, it should be interesting to see comparison. Keep up the great work, great to see someone who enjoys their job/work/business as much as you obviously do. Good fortune to you...
For sure, maybe I will have to turn right and head towards Mt Hood instead of left towards the valleys. Seriously I will wait for your further reviews. I know the Look will probably be great for me, though for my entire life in every facet, skis, cars, golf clubs, running shoes (heck, even regular shoes) bikes, etc I have always chosen a bit above my weight, and I can't think I've ever been disappointed. So we shall see 😎 @@Mapdec
and just think of the pressure, a 70 year old on a pink ADH, either people will think I am totally crazy or ??... probably depending on how I ride, haha, the pressure!!!
Starting to see the benefits of 1x on my CX bike that I use on general use/longer mixed surafce rides. But on longer/very steep climbs and downhills is where is wanting more gears. Adjusting shifting my rd more as been the hard part mentally besides gearing setup.
I had a VXRS worldstar, wish I hadn't sold it. I nicknamed it "More" because it was the only bike I've ridden that became more stable the faster it went. It seemed to align with the planets at about 33k's per hour
Thank you for the review. I've been waiting for a replacement to my 10 years old Fluidity for several years now. I hope they won't mess up the geometry and stay true to the old one, with a shorter top tube compared to the competition. I will miss the proprietary head tube system, with its separation of functions. And the integrated seat post. Being able to use standard components is a plus, but I get the feeling they are after cost savings as well. It looks to me that the new ADH is pretty much an ADH21 for ADH01 money.
Hi, I'm actually looking at a 10 yr old Fluidity, and was wondering your opinions on them, since I'm assuming you've riding yours a good amount? Anything you needed to change, improve, upgrade? Thanks
I was surprised that Time isn't really more expensive than other premium "ultra-bike" frames while it seems no one else actually matches their quality. I've only seen one "in the flesh" as they're very uncommon in Canada and I was blown away by it. I doubt I'd ever be spending that kind of money on a bike, but if I were, the Time would be the one.
They are made in Slovakia. But yes, they don't have the marketing budget and aren't sponsoring big teams (anymore). They do the boring frame design / building / selling to customers, but at least their design and build is excellent, and while the prices aren't cheap, you get what you pay for, and contrary to e.g. some big name brands, you almost never hear or see about a faulty Time frame.
Just to say thanks for a great video. Both as a Time owner and fan for 14 years (RXRS VIP which has done more miles than all the other bikes I have owned put together and now more recently an ADHX). But also as a Time dealer (with two of us running the shop with engineering backgrounds) for just as long we have seen a lot of changes with Time and it's so good to see the brand finally getting the recognition it has always deserved not only by engineers and those "in the know" but also the more general cycling market. European (or US) made with unbelieavable quality control can only go well and that's before China invade Taiwan when there will be little other choice. It's just a matter of Time!
The ride, it’s about the feel when riding. Very different than a traditional monocoque. Solid, a more grounded, planted feel, the monocoque in comparison feels like I’m riding a plastic hollow tube, quite a bit more skittish on the pavement. I think the best comparison is the Time feels more like a steel bike in the ride quality… My .02 cents
I try many upscale bikes with famous name but there is nothing to compare with Time Scylon that are combined with Dura Ace Di2! It’s dream technology come true!❤
Excellent video, and I really appreciate you taking the same attention to the details that Time clearly did. Question: with Time frames and Hambini bottom brackets being two examples of exceptional engineering and finish, is there an equivalent you've noticed for wheels? E.g., Enve's US-made wheels, or Mavic, or any others? I'm trying to imagine a best-of quality build and wheels are a clear next question. Cheers!
Oh. Good question. Chris King hubs for sure. Enve don’t build with them anymore. Not really a fan. For the best of the best rims. Umm. Maybe Faucon, Reserve, or Princeton.
Look no further than campagnolo wheels. Ofcourse they now have to catch up with rim width these days and they aren't particularly fast in doing so, but few wheels are better build, and longer lasting than the ones designed in Vicenza.
Beautiful video showcasing the beauty of Time. I am fortunate to own 3 of, what I consider, the greatest carbon frames made: Colnago C50, Look 585 and Time Fluidity. All 3 are built and rideable with Di2. I enjoy all of them, regularly.
Hello clawdawg, I'm considering a 10 yr old Fluidity, curious your thoughts on it. I'm a skilled recreational rider who enjoys a good riding bike, with decent handling and feel, thanks
@@jerryscott9598 Assuming all is well with the frame, it can’t be beat. My Fluidity is a 2016 model, which I bought NOS in 2019. Among the 3 I mentioned, the Time is the best all-around performer. The C50 is the most comfortable, the Look the best climber, and the Time the best combination of both.
@@clawdawg7248 Thank you kindly for the reply. I decided against it because of tire clearance and a gouge on chain stay, (chain drop), but will keep looking, (even eyeing a Wilier Zero6 & Look 785 RS Huez, both rim brake), which I'm fine with for the cost savings, (just tough to find clearance for 28-30mm tires). The Wilier has 28mm tires on Bora Ultra wheels. Cheers
@@jerryscott9598 I run HED Belgium+ on all my setups (four total), with Conti 25 tubeless. Actual tire width on the wide rims measure 28mm. Ride is supple as hell. Good luck.
With you on the rear brake, had to remove some clear coat to get the caliper flush. Also on the BB area, could be slightly larger and with a double spaced, like some other brands. Had to remove the wire guide to fit a Hambine BB. Lastly the brake hose through the fork, very very tight and only possible to route from top down. But it is still a piece of art :-)

Please push on and get that dealership. The UK definitely needs some. By the time you've sorted that out ,i should have saved enough to buy one, i'll be your first customer.
I think we will. We don’t usually sell bikes.
@@Mapdec You can get Time in the UK now. Already been to my local shop. I was considering a ADHX and my local shop could get a frame for me to look at. I decided against the ADHX as all road and gravel option for what I think will be the same reason as Paul will discuss on his up coming ride review.
As a owner of Time Izon, the predecessor of Alpe d'huez, I can say that Time frame lives up to its name.
Nice.
Fellow IZON owner here! Does yours have the fancy front forks with built in suspension?
@@rinkydinkron Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it has "Activ" fork.
Thanks for your dedication
Ok, finally convinced myself. Just bought this exact frame in XL, ultegra di2, campy bora wto 45 wheels, deda finishing kit. Hope it's as good as you say!
Good choice!
That thing is truly a work of art as it cites style elements from former times, when the backend was finished with eg. chrome, as my first frame (a Gianni Motta), just transferred into modern tech and materials.
The fact that someone with your expertise can be put to awe in terms of build-quality speaks for itself. Very nerdy, but lovely to listen to your enjoyment, drooling over that thing.
thank you. we see so much expensive junk, it really was nice to be truly impressed.
Would love a Time or Look. But, my next bike probably gonna be a Ti from T-Lab.
Your prediction for an actual gravel bike has come true. ADHX 45 thanks to you. I just bought an ADHX at a nice discount. All road, best in the Biz? Thanks for your expertise. 🤘
Very nice!
The ADH and 765 are very very different bikes. But PINK!! 😳
Love that feeling.
Oh hell, ANOTHER bike I've got to save up for!!
Wait until you see Viks in pink. 😳
Thanks
Build the Sclyon really keen to hear your thoughts on the comparison
Hammer down ride center opening in the U.S. outside of DC. The only exclusive TIME bike ride center. Look for it the end of June.
Oh wow.
So beautiful ❤
I want one!
Made in Slovakia :) been in that factory, amazing experience
Oh wow. I hope I can visit one day.
Especially when you consider they are made in France rather than in a low labour cost country like most other high end frames.
The don't have a huge budget for advertising, marketing, pro teams and riders
You will not have buyers remorse once you throw a leg over
@@nstrug they are not made in France
They are made in Slovakia. But yes, they don't have the marketing budget and aren't sponsoring big teams (anymore). They do the boring frame design / building / selling to customers, but at least their design and build is excellent, and while the prices aren't cheap, you get what you pay for, and contrary to e.g. some big name brands, you almost never hear or see about a faulty Time frame.
Amazing stuff!
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Great review.. beautiful frame amazing quality😊🚴🏼♂️🚴🏅❤️🔥
Thank you.
The ride, it’s about the feel when riding. Very different than a traditional monocoque. Solid, a more grounded, planted feel, the monocoque in comparison feels like I’m riding a plastic hollow tube, quite a bit more skittish on the pavement. I think the best comparison is the Time feels more like a steel bike in the ride quality…
My .02 cents
Almost pull the trigger for a Purple ADH '21, but spend some cash from my "bike budget" and finally bought a CInelliSuperstar :D
Stunning frame and sounds like a similar set up to Bianchi with there counter vail.
I try many upscale bikes with famous name but there is nothing to compare with Time Scylon that are combined with Dura Ace Di2! It’s dream technology come true!❤
I've been on the fence about buying a Time frame.....this might've just pushed me over!
😳
well I just ordered a frameset! its gonna be the lightest complete build out there considering all the other ones ive seen are tanks lol
That is quite a collection 😋
Good luck.
My dream bike. Time Skylon. White.
Looked up the prices of these frames and I must say, they're not bad compare to many other mainstream brands.
Yes. Cheaper than a lab71
I bought a Focus Evo Cayo CF LSD. Absolutely love it. ❤💣😈
I have a Felt AR4 2018 not a very popular make in the UK Felt, but the frame is also a work of art!!
Yes. Whatever happened to Felt. Not seen one in ages.
I’m hoping to cover some of this when we build the frame.
If you know, you know. TIME BABY💥
Very much looking forward to the ride test. This could very well replace the Colnago C68 as the No1 bike in my “ I want that so much”list.
It’s already out. A few weeks ago now. Enjoy.
@@Mapdec You mean the test of the pink one? I was hoping you will do a test as the lady in that video is riding S size and I would like to hear what someone close to my size (L)-taller and heavier thinks about it.
Not for nothing, I’m still sporting Time Equipe pedals on my Colnago Tecnos. It’s 23 years old! IMO best pedals ever made. I know it’s not a frame but…
